I always seemed to 'enjoy' gunge on TV shows of the 70's and didn't quite know why! However, later I became an equestrian which led to lots of mud and mess with a load of girls who didn't care about being a bit dirty. Can't go into some of the mess we had, needless to say that we treated people on their birthdays with molasses, horse feed and mess...
I've always had an interest in all things messy since I cam remember. Like others here, gunge ok TV shows etc. Always peaked my interest. Likewise with my crushing fetish, it's always been there as long as I can remember. My first actual memory of realising how into WAM I was, came at the age of 13. I (as many did) discovered porn younger than I should and came across a video of a girl sitting on a cake. Later that afternoon I accidentally sat on a piece of birthday cake and found myself getting aroused. I quickly put 2 and 2 together and tus my journey to WAM began!
Seeing messy gameshows and the like as a kid always got me excited and interested, and I quickly emulated them by going out to the first sloppy mud I could find and creating an imaginary reason I had to be covered in it. I always wanted to discover more messy substances. I used to dream about doing messy tasks and games. Eventually I reached puberty and my first orgasm ensued during a messy session - for some reason it all felt so automatic - like I just couldn't resist getting messy. A few WAM sessions since have evolved like that... even if they took careful planning, the drive to get messy was paramount, like I just couldn't avoid doing it somehow. (In the same way, I love it on messy gameshows when a TV host says the words "So what you have to do is...." ... HAVE to do... "pie yourself loads of times" .... I just love the imperative that you HAVE to get messy, and I just love the lunacy of it - what is it that drives us to it? It's crazy but it's so fun.)
Not knowing what an erection meant at like 7 or 8 watching ycdtotv supper sloppy dd and such.
But online we just got internet itvwas 1994ish and by then 8 grade. and I search lycos for girls in mud. One link was there only to tell people there was nothing wrong with them. It was not some illness or deviant thing. That lots of people enjoyed getting Messy.
I remember the guy called himself Jimmy thicket. It's a heck of a first impression. Simply trying to help people at a time when people were getting online for the first time.

I would "explore " the yard after rain. My dad had tilled some ground behind the garage out of sight. Oops I slipped I'm sorry. I was probably 13 or 14.
My mom I could trust with things mostly innocent so I asked her if I could go out and play in mud. Dig a pit in an unused part of the yard. She never asked why. Simply said no, you might get ringworm. Lol she said she got it as a kid and it was awful.

For me it was Noel's Saturday Roadshow and finding something fascinating about the gunge tank and way before I knew WAM/Sploshing was a kink. Then get your own back and NHP I was fascinated by seeing people get gunged and dunked.
In 2000 got home internet found yahoo groups and then crazygirls and finding UMD, and was not alone was how I found it and this amazing community of great people.
Not sure if that came before a time at school when some of us were walking home during a summer rain storm. We were in uniforms with jackets and white shirts. I had a secret crush on one of them and nearly melted when he said 'look, I'm so wet you can see my skin under my shirt' and we certainly could. I knew what I wanted!.
Or it might have been when I showered in my jimjams in my early teens - something I did quite a lot - and put a dressing gown on top in case I'd be spotted on the way to my bedroom.
It's not my first memory, but I have very fond memories like this!

Get Your Own Back was when I first knew there was something about gunge I liked. I remember being about 3 or 4 and I saw a woman being gunged on the dunk gunk.
And I think seeing The Generation Game as well, while it was on in the background.
Aged 9.it was after school me and friend were at his we both loved funhoue. We decided to get messy we got eggs, milk, custed whipped cream we were still in our school uniforms we both went for it lol lucky it was friday his mum washed our uniform
I think I was like 4 or 5. Wild and Crazy Kids was on in reruns. I was already aware of slime: my brother often had You Cant Do That On Television Reruns on for as long as I can remember.
When I first saw people getting slimed I dreaded it. Perhaps the color or texture was an issue and ditto for the humiliation I suppose. Nevertheless I remember this one Wild and Crazy Kids Game involving ketchup and mustard
Basically you'd have two teams of three: one player wears a smock, one player squirted ketchup or mustard at that players smock and one player would have a bucket of slime(red or yellow). If that persons teammate managed to squirt their teammate with the smock before their opponent did the player with the bucket would dump the slime on their teammate's head. My reaction was interesting: on one hand I still had the phobia but at the same time my favorite was red and with that I wanted the red team to win. The fact that the players on the red team were getting slimed registered as a positive instance in my mind and despite my phobia I thought to myself that if I was on the red team playing that game I would want to get slimed. It was a conundrum but nonetheless
Looking back I really wish I got to play this game and I would certainly like to play it in the near future.
It's either watching the mudslide scene from Romancing the Stone when I was 6, or around the same time, a mud bog contest at the local fair. For intermission, there was mud wrestling, and one of the wrestlers waved at me as she walked past. She looked so happy and like she'd had so much fun playing in the mud!
I've always liked getting muddy, jumping in puddles and so on, but the first time I deliberately did anything like WAMming was when I was around 10 or 11. I saw another lad with mud splashes on his coat, and thought how cool it would be to get dirty like that. So I deliberately fell off a climbing frame into the puddle below and got considerably dirtier
I'm pretty sure this question has been asked before but nevertheless it's a question I love seeing peoples many different answers to. I always give the exact same answer the all time classic "...All the Marbles"! There may have been a mud wrestling story on the news in the early 80s that caught my attention or even perhaps the infamous Solid Gold "Hit me with your best shot" segment but my most vivid memory without a doubt will always be from ...all the Marbles .
Like so many who have responded here, I loved tv shows like Noel's House Party and Tiswas. However I am old enough to remember children's Saturday Matinee's at the cinema which included old slapstick films featuring the like of Laurel and Hardy, and The Three Stooges. I didn't understand why I looked forward to this part of the show, but I did.
In terms of getting into WAM, it was the 'wet' part at first; deliberately going out in the rain without a coat, or getting the bath with my clothes on. Then I fell across Splosh magazine and the greatly lamented late Bill Shipton. From here it was a short step to finding VHS cassettes - (anyone remember them!) - in seedy sex-mag shops.
Eventually I had to try it for myself, of course. Even after all these years, the memory of pouring a carton of custard inside my underpants and jeans brings a shiver to my spine.
The final step was to combine my love for cross dressing with WAM. The first total trashing whilst dressed as a woman ensured I would be an enthusiast for life!
For me it was watching the Rock opera Tommy by the who. Ann Margaret in the beans exploding from the washing machine inspired me to have a go. Its been my escape method ever since. The clip might still be on You Tube.
The usual TV shows already mentioned, I do remember making concoctions from variou shampoos and bubble baths (in not huge quantities) for a bathtime gunging (still, i got messier than some celebs did on telly the other night)
My first wam memory was a dream where I was rubbing slime on my body. I think the dream came from watching Robocop 2 Sunblock 5000. I distinctly remember that dream because I could feel the slime on my body in the dream even though I had never felt it before.

The clip is certainly still on Youtube.
For the Tiwas fans, it's worth looking up The Bucket of Water Song too.
l failed to put this on my profile. And was kind of embarrassed. Seeing wam happen on kids shows and cartoons did play a huge factor in my first wam memories.
Like many I was intrigued with TV game shows that featured any kind of mess, gunge, forfeit, pies, etc. That then translated to me squeezing shampoo (usually green) over my body trying to imagine the feeling of an entire bucket. Then Argos started stocking 'Gak' which wasn't a big thing in the UK as satellite TV and Nickelodeon wasn't huge at the time, but it was like a rubber slime. Eventually I put it into my underwear to see how it felt to have it squish around. Anyway, it bound to the cotton and I couldn't get most of it out so I had to find a way to dispose of them without anyone noticing.
