Good day, UMD wammers; I decided to consolidate & update the thread to this current year. If anyone in Texas, specifically & particularly in Pflugerville, Manor, Round Rock, Taylor, Cedar Park, Buda, Kyle, San Marcos, or Austin are open to meeting up in person; I am down for meetup. As of 2024 I don't know how big this site has grown or if anyone has moved into any of these cities within ATX of either central, north, northwest, south, or southeast west side. I am interested in hoping to find other means of performing WAM in a safe & healthy atmosphere.
For anyone interested in going mudding looking for mud spots; my personal exploration so far I found are Cypress Creek Park that has mud along the river streams, Merkley Meadow Park near HWY 130 near Hornsby Bend & Del Valle area, Jones Brother Park in Jonestown, & Bohl's Park in Pflugerville. I have found a few muddy spots at the Austin Colony HOA neighborhood near the streets of Wickham Lane near the small private park. It is considered private property; I have been there myself & I GTFO due to hearing loud unusually arbitrary popping noises which later deduced as warning gunshots as I noticed the river water on the right side making little splashes as if bullets made contact with the water. Again I felt alerted & GTFO of the area. I don't feel safe & I don't want issues with the authories there. I did not see a clear sign stating "DO NOT TRESPASS" when going towards that region. I have posted the Google Map locations below my address for reference. I will also add that in downtown central Austin near the Colorado River, there is a marked area called "Secret Beach" where you have to cross the trail to reach it. Likely there is dirt & mud but I would not get my hopes up. I have the images below my post to prove it. I also have not fully investigate the area in Lakeway where Violente Beach is at & near Cedar Park.
Bear in mind it has been raining since the last summer season in 2023, so the environment may have changed significantly, the muddy areas may have been flooded up.
I have not visited Marble Falls, New Braunfels, Houston, Dallas, nor San Antonio. I would personally be disappointed to travel that far and not find good depths of sinking bliss & privacy - all for nothing. Staying close to home as possible.
If this thread gets bumped that would be great, if not oh well. I took the time & burn extra gas mileage to travel back to the park near the highway, Berkley Meadow park to provide updates: that the lake is still filled with water. I traveled to the secret private beach in Austin ATX downtown, the trail is closed off and nearby there are constructions indicating that area may be private property.
It is a shame, but however I visited back to Cypress Creek Park near Volente beach on Laneway area & the mud there on the north side park is fairly luscious thigh-deep when standing. I was able to go up to back when laying down like a bed after squirming myself to get deep into the mud pit. I wish I have a partner that can take good pictures and video me in the mud foe contents. It is difficult to properly place a phone camera on a wobbly surface. If anyone lives within the north or northwest side of ATX- I would love a photographer assistance.
