CRC Creek Ridge Campground is where I spend my weekends and as much as possible in the MUD PIT which is a work in progress... I am the creator of this PIT at CRC. The camp is male only (membership required...$25.00 first year $15 there after) and your desired time to spend there. Call first so as to not waste a trip as it does sell out quite often...
The camp is in Stockbridge Michigan (Bunkerhill Township). North of Jackson and South of Lansing.
I am thinking that July is the best month for the PIT so we may want to plan on a weekend sometime. Any input is welcome!
Why a hole in the ground mudpit, how about considering instead a high sided inflatable pool that uses pottery clay? Mudpits in the ground get dirt and leaves in 'em and dry out when not constantly maintained and are always at the average temperature at night. A pool can be covered with clear plastic and will heat up some and the clay can be stored in 5 gallon buckets with lids when not in use.
I was really hoping to get up there this year, but with travel restrictions, etc it did not work out. After seeing all of Muddybuck's pictures on here, I will definitely get up there next summer!
This looks like an awesome place and mud pit. Muddybuck's videos really makes me want to go! I think I am going to try to get up there and join in the muddy fun sometime next year, if I can (worse case, the following year when hopefully this pandemic crap is all over and done with)! I noticed they have some cowboy themed weekends, and I love wearing cowboy chaps and boots....perhaps I can combine both (wearing the cowboy gear including chaps until I'm ready to get into the mud then spending as much time as I can as a mud creature)....
THANKS for posting, and thanks for bringing us this fantastic claypit. Hoping travel restrictions, etc., will lessen next year and I can visit/partake. Glad to help with a "work weekend" on the pit...... next summer.
