Any other local UMD nerds planning for this one? If so, hit me up to say a low-key "hi," as I'm always down for meeting fellow locals just as friends to chat with. I'll be attending with Former Spouse (who gave me quite the side-eye when I talked this one up, knowing where I'm coming from, but said he'd love to take part in this malarkey) and Da Spawn, at least one of which plans to YouTube this one up. I'll be wearing a "In Fries We Trust" ringer tee. :3
...So, basically, it's a family-friendly event but also an excuse for the entire town to devote an entire day to G-rated WAMming, starting with a bounce house/waterslide and dunk tanks in the town park and then culminating in a parade with the floats exchanging an all-out watergun assault with the audience, with trash cans of water refills along the parade route. I've got a "water crayon" squirtgun, a sidearm and all the time in the world, so bring it! What could possibly go wrong?
Looks like fun, and the weather should be perfect for the entire town to get soaked!
This is the sort of event that I'd quietly get super-excited for when I was like 13 years old, knowing there's a heightened chance of seeing some pretty girls in soaking wet clothes
Do you know the history of the event? Who started it and when? Why?
It's the second year for it, and a transplant from Idaho recalled how much fun her hometown always had with their annual "splash day," so suggested having one here and the rest is history.
