While watching "Perry Mason" first season shows, low and behold from Episode 12 The Negligent Nymph: Peggie Castle is chased into the ocean by a dog, and rescued by Paul Drake and Perry. Theres lots of wet William Hopper too. I had to use my phone to take pix off my computer screen. The usual screenshot system didn't work.
By today's standards, its not much but Castle is quite a piece of ass! According to IMDB she was 29 when this was done. Unfortunately she died at age 45 of cirhosis of the liver!
If you were randomly watching the show, then you struck it lucky because there were 271 episodes and only 2 of them had wetlook scenes. This one, and a very similar dress in the lake scene with Bonnie Jones in Season 9 episode 5.
Re Peggie Castle, she did a wetlook catfight as a saloon girl in the 1954 film "Jesse James' Women". That scene was a carbon copy of the saloon girls wetlook catfight with Marlene Dietrich in the 1939 film "Destry Rides Again" and copied again by Mari Blanchard in the 1954 Audie Murphy western "Destry".
For those interested in vintage wam clips, I just discovered an unseen 1966 wetlook clip with Yvonne Craig this week that has not been discovered by any wetlook fan in 58 years.
I'd seen Jesse James' Girls in Castle's filmography and meant to check it out as something with potential. According to the JustWatch app, it's on Amazon Prime for "free" (no extra charge).
I watched it on Prime, or skimmed through it, and then again one of the YouTube versions. The wetlook is very minimal; Castle gets wetter and is sexier on Perry Mason! And I had to wash my hands afterward because that movie was so ... slimy. And not in a good WAM way. I doubt it was even a "B" movie. There were frequent shots of the men leering at the two women fighting and a "dance sequence" that consisted of shots from the waist down of women parading past flicking their skirts and showing their knees. Glad I didn't pay to see it.
