I have a question on the R-rating qualifications where it says " .. or cropping to focus on the groin area.". At what point does a pic including the groin area have to be R-rated? I am working on the basis that if it occupies more than 50% of an image then it needs R-rating, otherwise not. Unless of course there are other factors such as transparency if wet. It would be nice to get some clarity before I embark on going thorough all of my albums again .
How much cropping is required to consider it a crotch shot is subjective, but you're right about where we are with it: If more than half the pic is just crotch, it's likely to be considered R-rated. I'll clarify that on our various instructions soon.
I ask everyone to not just mark things R-rated "just to be safe." It's a great notion to err on the side of caution! But it's really important that we try to actually tag things accurately to avoid dilution of the whole labeling system. I'm happy to offer clarification for edge cases and situations where the rules aren't that clear yet.
