The proper attitude Lenny should have taken is: science costs money:
i.e. experimentation costs money. Getting it right costs money.

On the other hand, you DON'T want to pay for a custom and then have the producer
just blatantly disregard your instructions and put a dab of shaving cream on a model's nose.
This is why I have never ordered a custom: TOO risky for too much drama for BOTH of us:
how can I (customer) get them to trust me (to pay them)
and how can they (producer) get me to trust them (to do what I imagined)
when we can't read each others' minds?

My solution: work on a mind-reading device.

Don't know what all transpired with the negative stuff mentioned - but I knew Lenny. He had a heart of gold and was often generous To A FAULT. I wonder if maybe someone tried to take advantage of him and it didn't go their way...hmmmm

Anyway, it's so nice to see that his spirit lives on, influencing others - may he RIP. He would have gotten a cheap thrill (his favorite kind, he told me) from this.

I hope he's up in heaven (or hell if it's funner, haha) and enjoying the horses and pie-ing all the pretty women. Hopefully lots of steaks and whisky and "whores" wherever he is! Perhaps he's persuaded a few of the ladies to put on their girdles and smoke a cigarette while he throws pies at them! LMFAO!

Didn't always agree with him and he drove me crazy sometimes (for example, when he insisted that I be Marilyn Monroe blonde for a shoot - he fully expected me to not wear a wig; I was to bleach my hair platinum blonde - we argued for days about it - I "won" but really I lost...cause he was so firmly committed to it that he said forget it so I did not get to enjoy that opportunity...) but I sure do miss him and our little conversations.

ariel and i had the pleasure of doing lennys last custom.....and it was a straight up CUSTOM. he didnt ask for money for it, he paid me plenty, and it turned out awesome. its in my store. I hold it super dear to me now, because it was his idea behind it and asked ariel and myself to add our flair. but his messes strategically picked out and costumes and all that.

I did some work for lenny. one he loved, one he didnt like the second camera angle. we got in a tiff about it but all in all, it was fine. we made up....we talked normal again. it was what it was. no bigs.

any producer working with other ones may have problems. it happens. I am happy that, that whole situation was long over before he passed and we were cool....we did his last custom and he fucking loved it so much. we had a blast, it was a perfect mix of lenny and house of mess shenanigans and we all loved it. I am really glad we all got to enjoy creating that together

lenny is a legend around here and I think speaking ill of him is super disrespectful....as people would say "that escalated quickly" it did. for no real good reason at all. rip lenny. thanks for bringing your style and some great models for us to see!
