I'm still in treatment, for at least another 14 months as long as it keeps working and doesn't become too toxic for my body.
Since I removed the updates I had on my profile for the past 2 years, here are specifics for those who like to research: I have Stage 4 Ovarian Clear Cell Carcinoma - a rare form of ovarian cancer that typically doesn't respond well to treatment. My first 2 lines of treatment failed, and after a course of radiation last November into December, I started a new protocol that's currently in Phase 3 of a clinical trial. Genetic testing showed that my cancer had just the right markers for it to possibly work and 10 months later, here I am! This time a year ago, I thought I had maybe a year left, if I was lucky. That protocol is Keytruda and Avastin, infused by I.V. every 3 weeks, and a daily chemo pill (Cytoxan). It doesn't make my hair fall out (though interestingly, it grew back a totally different color after chemo in 2024) and I "mostly" don't feel like a cancer patient anymore - whoot!
I'm forever grateful for the love, the great memories, and the support you've given me over the years!
Take good care of yourselves and remember to have fun - life really is way too short. <3
