One more thing, while Norman didn't want anyone here knowing his real name or any details about him I can't help but want to emphasize to everyone that he was indeed "that nice." He was a community man even in his real life, and has done a lot for a lot of strangers as well as family. It's easy to lose some authenticity online, but that really was Norman y'all.

So sad to hear this. I corresponded with Norman for a time. A really gentle and good spirited man. Quite thoughtful and genuine.

By the way, I'd also like to add a word of thanks to MyPierogative, Jayce, and the other wonderful women of WAM in this community for allowing Norman to finally experience the joys of messy fun with another person. Norman was a WAM connoisseur for many decades, but when I met him here he hadn't yet made that daunting step required to take things from fantasy to personal experience. We understood each other because it also took me many years to finally move from observation to participation (when I was in my mid-twenties), and Norman genuinely loved to hear about some of my adventures--he was always so genuinely happy for others when something good happened.

I know for a fact that getting a chance to trade some tit-for-tat pies in real life was one of the greatest thrills of his life, and I'm SO glad that it happened for him.

He was always positive and upbeat and was well received by the community. I send my condolences to Norman's family and friends and will be sorely missed within our community

Well, that's certainly a sad bit of news for the holiday weekend. Norman was definitely one of the kind and nice folks around the community. RIP

Sad news. Condolences to his close friends and family. Norman was one of the originals when I joined here over 20 years ago. A genuinely kind person whenever I chatted with him. Out of all the male members on this forum, he was definitely high on the list of people I would have liked to meet. I never know if he got to live out his messy fantasy, but perhaps he's somewhere doing it now!
The following is an excerpt from one of my private chats with Norman where he is telling me his ultimate WAM scenario:

"I'll tell you; I've had the same basic "ideal" scenario for my whole life: the messy Bride!

A bride spends hours getting her hair & make-up just right, sometimes even goes on a diet so she looks her best for the wedding. She's wearing an impeccable white (or off-white) dress that's very expensive and she may even want to save it for her daughter to get married in. And she plans the day to be perfect for months or more (and actually all her life through play). So to get herself and her dress all messy is one of those " -sharp intake of breath- , OMG!" -type moments!

I usually picture the scene starting as the Bride & Groom go to cut the cake at the wedding reception. The bride is ready and in front of the cake when her Maid of Honor, who's had a little too much to drink, decides to "steal the show"! She sneaks up behind the bride and forcefully shoves the Bride's face into the cake! The Bride comes up with cake and frosting all over her face and stuck in her hair. There's even mess on her chest, all over the bodice of her dress! It disintegrates into a free-for-all between the two, with mess getting everywhere and all over the bride's dress. Two of the other bridesmaids decide to join in and hold the bride's arms while another one lifts the bride's dress in back, exposing her sexy lingerie. The maid of honor slams a couple of pies into the white satin undies and smears it around. Then she pulls the panties down, totally humiliating the bride and takes the top layer of the cake, traditionally saved for the 1st wedding anniversary, and smashes it into the bride's naked bum!

And it goes on from there. I think you get the picture!"

It saddens me to read that Norman passed. It has been said many times already, but he really was always so kind and helpful. he was one of the first people to chat with me when I joined the UMD and was always a huge supporter. You will certainly be missed here Norman. May you rest easy. This one is for you

I had spoken to Norm a couple times on the forum as well as in PMs. He was always a kind soul no matter what he was dealing with. I don't EVER recall a negative or mean spirited comment from him.

I'm so sad to hear of his passing, and hope he was surrounded by friends and family. Too many of us here suffer from loneliness. I truly hope he wasn't among us.

I know I don't come here often any more, but I got a notification about this thread in my emails and was very sad to hear this news. Norman, as everyone else has said here, was one of the really good ones.

I hunted through my inbox and found a wonderful thread of messages Norman and I exchanged back in 2014, when I was new and doing my 'WOTD dares'. He was so kind and funny, and I'm glad I got the opportunity to have a conversation with him, albeit virtual, and to tell him how lovely he was and how much he made me laugh. He had such a great sense of humour and came across as a very gentle and kind man.

He was on this forum long before I started producing anything. Pretty sure he was one of my most enthusiastic supporters of that very first volume with Liz. And over a decade later, he would rave to me about how great Shelly was. I think he liked those cute Southern blondes!

If there's an afterlife, I hope he's giving (and receiving) pies with some heavenly cuties right now.

He has been one of those guys thatt started messaging me from the time I started here ....till he toook his wam break for a bit and then let me know WHY he was on a break. He didnt have to tell me all that but, for someone to really dive into their personal life with me? lets me know that I have done my job. of oversharing. haha! so you all can feel comfortable ttalking to me.

Bee, thanks for taking on the task of spreading the sad news of Norman's passing.

I don't correspond with many people on this forum, but he was one of the few. He let me know probably a decade ago that he struggled with his health, and the last time we wrote each other was in 2017, shortly after I discovered and posted a clip of Jayne Meadows being pied in an old Steve Allen Show skit.

Others who posted their memories of Norman have noted his insatiable love of classic WAM, the foundational TV and movie scenes that were the origin point of his (and my, and our) fetish. Aside from his unwavering positivity, kindness, and enthusiasm, I will remember Norman's joyous glee at the discovery of a thought-to-be-long-lost pie clip. He was always able to add context to the clip, describing when he first saw it, how it affected him, and how his memory was sometimes different from what the lost clip actually showed.

Here's what Norm had to say about that Jayne Meadows clip:

"I'm almost positive that that's NOT the exact same sketch as I remember! I know it's been 50 years, so it could be faulty memory, but there are several things that just seem like maybe they did another version of it on a special, or at another point in time. I remember Jayne's dress as being much prettier, and I don't remember the "jive talk". But what I *do* remember is that when she hits Steve with the first pie, she's laughing so hard (in character), and her mouth is wide open when he hits her with her pie. I also seem to remember more of an exchange of pies (a few to each) before they do anything else. I believe they also used the actual title, "Taming of the Schrew". Then, at the end, I thought that they ran around in the audience a little more, before pieing the "audience member". Also, there was some spanking of Jayne by Steve before the pieing. And the beginning showed them with a donkey, travelling. I could be wrong, but I also don't remember there being any other characters in it. But I seem to remember Jayne getting messier from more pies.

I still loved seeing this one. But the more I think about it, maybe this came from his regular show, and they re-did it later on in one of his specials. But I always thought Jane was gorgeous, and seeing her pied was a thrill beyond imagination! "

That is so so sad to hear.

As many others have said, he was just so encouraging and supportive of everyone. He regularly replied to my promo threads with positive words, and then always sent along positive feedback after buying my scenes. His positivity and encouragement meant a huge amount to me always, and especially in my early days as a producer when I wondered if my work was good enough.

It is a mark of the man that everyone on this thread seems to have had the same positive experience with Norman,

I have just reread all his dms to me (he seems ton have had lovely conversations via dm with so many of us here) and they warmed my heart. He was nothing but thoughtful, kind, encouraging, enthusiastic about my work, and considerate.

I Am Not Sure What I can say that has not already been said. From what i can see he was much loved and will be missed by the comunity. I Hope we can all find a way to honor his memory.

I'm sorry to hear about his passing. He had messaged me back in the early 2000's and we shared some common WAM interests during our brief conversations. Super nice guy and was among the first that let me know that I wasn't the only one with this interest! He was always a good guy to me and I won't forget that!

Sad to hear. Norm and I were both musicians and would reminisce about our experiences in various bands in exchanges we had. I remember he and I going back and forth over who was hotter, Joyce Dewitt or Suzanne Somers. He made a great case for Joyce but could not dissuade me from my choice!

I wish More People would put themselves on the organ donor list. If More People chose to donate their organs the maybe more people would survive illnesses that need a organ transplant.

Never got a chance to really talk to him or know him super well since, by the time I joined the UMD, he was starting to step back from posting here regularly. Still, I always enjoyed reading his posts on this site and briefly did get to have a private conversation with him here. As everyone else has already stated, he was such an amazing person. He will be dearly missed.

Very sad to hear this. He was one of the first people I conversed with here, and he was always generous and thoughtful in his comments. I guess I related to him as someone else who largely "came of age" before finding WAM on the internet, something that could feel pretty lonely. RIP, he will be missed.

Agreed. I didn't know him anywhere other than here, but every post from him that I encountered was positive, friendly and kind.

I wish there were more like him on forums like these. My condolences to those who knew him outside of this forum. This is sad news and he will be missed.

Thank you Mrsbee for posting this news. NormanMabeld was one of the most loyal and active members here like you said, yet never seemed to have a truly negative thing to say about anyone. He just had a great and humble vibe. I never even knew that he had such a condition as he wasn't exactly a complainer. He never asked for anything but was always here to help us out in any way he could. I can imagine what he was like in person. Sitting here reading our messages from just recently, and it's surreal that he's gone. He was actually here from beginning to end, and he will be missed.

It's always hard to know what to say when something like this happens, but I think reading all the comments shows how highly he was thought of here. I'd like to add my condolences to those who knew him better than me. He will be missed for sure.
