page were broken.
If you attempt to access umd by typing a URL (e.g. umd.net/videos) it'll present you with this screen, presumably as intended. However, it will fail to redirect you to the URL you typed upon pressing "Enter". It's evident from observing the address bar that this is supposed to happen, but in practice it Always fails, and always redirects to the homepage (umd.net).
This is only a minor annoyance for regular users, however for first time users this presents a unique issue. There is no way to read the terms of service and privacy policy *before* using the site. The links on the splash page should present the user with the terms, but since the splash page is seemingly mandatory for all umd.net addresses, you have to hit "enter" first to get past it. Hitting "enter" and immediately being presented with the terms would be a little iffy but fine, but because of the broken redirects system, hitting "enter" always gives you the home screen, which is full of features and content. Thus, you are always forced to use and be subjected to the things covered by the Terms, before you are able to read them and provide an informed decision to agree to them.
Sorry if that explanation was a little rambly and confusing, it's why I never went anywhere in computer science
It's not something that any average person would really care about, but a bad actor, someone with a grudge against the site or kink communities etc. potentially could leverage it against the site, hence I think it's worth calling to attention
