If I create a new blog post, the status can be "hidden" and "shown". However, I'm not clear on what those options actually mean.
If I create a new forum topic, there's a checkbox called "Private thread: Hides from non-members and search engines". Is "hidden" the same as "private thread" or does it do something different? If it's different, is there a way to write blog posts that only show up for people who've logged in?

On blogs, setting to "hidden" prevents them from being shown to anyone while you're still composing. I thought that would be clear given that the other option is to just make them "shown." But perhaps I should call it "published" vs "unpublished"?
