The film Back Roads has a nice scene of Sally Field and Tommy Lee Jones ending up in watery mud together. Here's a scan from that scene:

Yup. I remember she was living wit Burt Reynolds at the time, and said Burt had instructed her "not to take any guff from" Carson, and thus began the slapstick. Interestingly, Ed McMahon and I think another (male) guest were shown in a long shot to have moved FAR down the couch from Fields!
