i have one plan and one plan only that DUH i will need help executing.
I want to be the marvelous mrs. maisel MESSY.
every outfit. every joke. i am in LOOOOVE WITH THIS SHOW. i have been since it first aired on amazon. Her humor is so on...so dead on like a christmas with my family! I love it!
THE OUTFITS THE OUTFITS! oh my god I die for her outfits. Her hats, dresses, coats....my god. I could die in a pile of them!
so, that is my one wam goal. I mean, yeah, I want a thick chocolate fountain too but ill ask for what I can. plus, I think it is a really fun idea for anyone who has watched it. she is beautiful (ill work on that,
) she is stand up. she is the embodiment of what could work for a super funny slapstick set up!
what do you think? any outfits on amazon you think you can find that will work? post them! you can google them and they have pinterest pins and a FEW you can purchase!

I never got why women love dressing up so much in my whole life.
I mean, what an agonizing annoying chore it is for me to try on a $21 pair of pants
in the dressing room at Sears. Pulling things off. Pulling things on.
Definitely ONE thing I do not envy about actors and THEIR job.
That said, before I die, I'd like to dress up in a formal vested suit + tie, just one time,
to give a speech or talk or lecture or something. My old suit & shirts don't fit any more.
I am so blessed to get to sit in my underwear + robe at my computer 95% of the time.

I vote for the red dress on you Jayce! I have not seen the show but my wife Kate has and she loves it. Whichever outfit you choose will be HOT!

when i first stared here? a couple of people might recall bc i used a few of my late 80s early 90s collections for some shoots, but I used to run and operate a vintage clothing store. I would take things that were dated, but i LOVED.....and sew them in to still vintage but a more modern fit (aka tits up not looking so much like tit guns and shoulder pad removal....length, how much you show? things llike that for customers)
the plaid skirt and plain top? i used to wear that kind of stuff in high school. ive had this hippee/midge vibe. i got older. I had a kid. i started wearing more sweatpants. lol.
so, i dont like to dress up....i like to throw things together and they fall together beautifully. these outfits speak for themselves. the hair is easy and blammo. its a look that is timeless "woman" i just love it!

I absolutely adore this one, that's got to be one of the most stunning potential WAM outfits ever!
I can't help feeling the messing would have to be very polite, very prim, and very deliberate.
I'm imagining she walks into a nice cafe, there's a maid in a proper below the knee black uniform dress.
Lady adfdresses the maid, "Aha, good afternoon, I wish tio be messy, and I'd like to start with some cake sitting, can you oblige?"
The maid places a nice squishy gateaux on a seat and the lady inspects it.
"That's a good start, but for this dress I think it needs, you know, something more."
The maid covers the gateaux in custard or chocolate syrup.
"Aha yes, that's better."
Lady turns round, and slowly and deliberately sits down in the cake, squishing it all over the seat of her dress, before standing up and turning round to show off the damage.
"Lovely, that's worked well. Another!"
Process is repeated with another gateaux placed on top of the squished one and another slow and delibarete sit in it.
The she stands again to show off the larger splat, before sitting again and then the maid brings over a long-spout teapot filled with suitable gunge, and uses it to pour the mess into the lady's collar so it flows inside her jacket and flows out over the dress, before a bucket of mess is emptied into the lady's lap. She'll be sitting flat of course, no crossed legs to ruin the view.
Now, where can I get some of those dresses?

ON THE WHOLE DAMN SHOW!! and it is only for a scene!! one scene in the department store where she works....her husbands girlfriend (ex) comes in and gets mad at her for sleeping with her husband. calls her a name. a loud one. yeah, hard to understand. lol. but i watched this part and rewound it a few times bc i was DYING over this dress. they have to be tailoring these on set bc they fit SO WELL

This must happen. I love the fashions of the era, likely due to my earliest TV rerun crushes: Donna Reed, Barbara Billingsley, and other pretty 50s/60s housewife types and wholesome girls on shows like Petticoat Junction. My wife knows if she puts on something like this, I will soon be amorously attacking her.
On top of that, two legends of the WAM scene, Jayce and Mrs Bee, are behind the idea.
And on top of that, the scenario being discussed--telling jokes onstage--is an ultimate WAM scenario for me.
Finally, the most favored outfit (the suit with the neck bow) is my favorite too. I love neckwear on women--so sexy!

I saw a documentary in college some 50 years ago on early television (early 50s), and there was a whole segment of actresses getting pied, one after the other. All of course in the fashions of the day. It was a staple of variety shows back then. Wish I could remember the name of it and find it.

and also looking for the largest pie crusts i can find for thrown pies. i feel like the execution will be hella better with some giant pie crusts! the pies I get from gfs, bakery pies, used by the late great lenny....in the last custom he ever got....from myself and ariel which is in my store....also used them in the begging for pies video with ariel, julie and myself. they are HUGE! PREMADE, REAL pies that are really big! but they have a graham crust. I WISH you could hand throw graham crust! anyhoooo im looking for pie crusts to be hand thrown, no tins that are larger than usual!

xoooxoxxooxoxoxo lots of them!! Have you tried pillsburry pie crusts. I know they come 2 to a pack and you can make them as big to a point or small as you like. Just bake in a pan size you like. Let cool. Take out of pan and fill. Then just throw.

Have you looked up cast iron pans. They come in all sizes. I have one that just fits into me oven but that might be little too big.lol. Plus I know they can be pricey. The other thing I thought of was making your own pie crust dough. 5is way it will be as big as you want. But then there's the prep of making it which takes so much more time. I know I'm probably not helpinglol

Lady adfdresses the maid, "Aha, good afternoon, I wish tio be messy, and I'd like to start with some cake sitting, can you oblige?"
The maid places a nice squishy gateaux on a seat and the lady inspects it.
"That's a good start, but for this dress I think it needs, you know, something more."
The maid covers the gateaux in custard or chocolate syrup.
"Aha yes, that's better."
Lady turns round, and slowly and deliberately sits down in the cake, squishing it all over the seat of her dress, before standing up and turning round to show off the damage.
"Lovely, that's worked well. Another!"
Process is repeated with another gateaux placed on top of the squished one and another slow and delibarete sit in it.
The she stands again to show off the larger splat, before sitting again and then the maid brings over a long-spout teapot filled with suitable gunge, and uses it to pour the mess into the lady's collar so it flows inside her jacket and flows out over the dress, before a bucket of mess is emptied into the lady's lap. She'll be sitting flat of course, no crossed legs to ruin the view.

THIS IS MY FAVORITE ONE TOO!! ON THE WHOLE DAMN SHOW!! and it is only for a scene!! one scene in the department store where she works....her husbands girlfriend (ex) comes in and gets mad at her for sleeping with her husband. calls her a name. a loud one. yeah, hard to understand. lol. but i watched this part and rewound it a few times bc i was DYING over this dress. they have to be tailoring these on set bc they fit SO WELL
So you could do your own version of this scene...
Your husband's ex-girlfriend starts to scream with you, blaming you for the end of her relationship.
You answers humIliating her.
Then she throws a pie in your face.
You screams: "MY FACE! MY PRETTY FACE! LOOK WHAT YOU DID TO ME! I'M ALL DIRTY!"
Then she answers: "No, now you'll get all dirty."
And she starts to mess you.
After the mess finishes, you screams: "YOU RUINED MY CLOTHES! YOU RUINED MY HAIRDO! YOU RUINED MY MAKEUP! HOW CAN I STAY BEYOND PEOPLE ALL DIRTY AS YOU KEEPED ME?
And she answers:
"Don't worry. You really deserves to take a bath. And I'll give you a bath."
Then she throws a big bucket of water on your head.
And you screams:
"OOOOHHHH...."
THIS IS A REALLLY GOOD IDEA BUUUUT, itt DOES steer from her original character a bit. She would be upset, for sure, about her dresses but she would have more a "you gotta be fucking kidding me---insert joke about being jewish and how the pies arent kosher" you know what i meaN? as more hits? her attitude would be more like a "oh wow really? more pies! insert joke about overstaying your welcome or the joke that went on too long" and eventually would be like "well fuck it!" you see what im saying. I LOVE YOUR IDEAS THOUGH! Do you have amazon prime? i have to keep it for ordering for customs when i do them. maybe watch ummmm...there is an episode she is being haggled by some men in the audience. it truly shows how she handles pressure type situations. with comedy.
