Friday 8th June - all of you are invited to come along to my birthday do at Pink Punters (and splunch the next day in central MK)

Also this year we are celebrating 20 years of UMD!

It's a brilliant night with a very friendly atmosphere, its created for CD/TV and trans but it is a general LGBT club and anyone is welcome, man, woman, straight, gay, curious, tv/cd/ts, not sure, badger, etc etc are welcome. The staff really look after you and it's not too packed, lots of drinking and dancing, 3 different floors of music and a huge outside section with 3 or 4 firepits for the smokers among you

The campanile hotel is great for any CD/TV nervous about going out dressed 'en femme' as the hotel and staff see this EVERY week of every year for the past 18 years. No one will bat an eyelid and you just walk over the road to the club, literally 100 metres so no need for taxi's. We'll also as a group meet up at the hotel bar and walk over to the club together

What is a splunch?

A splunch is a SPloshers LUNCH (geddit?) - also taken from the 'bdsm' term 'munch' meaning a vanilla meet up. Just friends chatting in the pub, enjoying being around like minded people, some lunch, maybe some dinner, lots of chat, and lots of beer (or whatever everyones beverage of choice is) there are always opportunities to make new connections, friends, maybe even lovers...

Can you pie me there?

There is no sploshing at a splunch itself, it's in a pub not a plastic lined room after all so c'mon use your noggin...


Who is going and can I get messy with them?

Some people attending may live in the area and be able to host a messing afterwards, or some may be staying in hotels that could withstand a messy session. Keep an eye on the guest list someone with similar interests and faves is bound to be attending. Post on the thread yourself to let others know you are coming just in case you are that 'similar interests' person for someone else! Or maybe you can simply meet others, have a chat and a good time and arrange something messy another time. Or whatever.

Is there a dress code?

Nope not really. For the night out, Pink Punters dress code is just that footwear must be worn at all times. So please don't wear your 7 inch stilettos for the first time without making sure they are comfy! Aside from that anything goes. if I can find something I like I might be in PVC or just a nice dress.

For the MK splunch, well it's a Milton Keynes pub. You be the judge of what is appropriate to wear to a pub


I want to attend but I'm really nervous

That's fine - most first timers are. We are lovely non cliquey understanding people, likeminded and friendly, and many of us understand things like anxiety and have been there ourselves. Feel free to message me if there's anything we can do to make you more comfortable such as meeting you in the bar or elsewhere beforehand.

Just to re-iterate what Candy said - the hotel / pub / club are completely used to anyone being dressed up, convincingly or otherwise, so you don't need to feel awkward about how you're dressed.

And if you're not into that (like me) it's still a great fun night out, no-one minds if you're not in drag or anything, so don't feel it's 'CD/TV' only! I'm not even a nightclub person and the venue is perfect as you can find some quiet places for a chat and a drink or throw yourself into the dancing depending on your mood. It's not usually all that full so you won't be crammed into a tiny space, if that worries you.

And the meet-up on the Sunday is just as welcoming, so do please come along!

Think I may have to get to this one, seems how I am missing out on Brizzle - long overdue a catch up!

For me it will be entirely weather-dependent, that's peak mud / outdoor wetlook season for us, so if it's warm and any of the girls are available we'll be either in the Dales or on the mudflats. If on the other hand we get the traditional 2nd weekend of June weather for a year with a royal event in it, and it chucks it down, then I should be able to join you.

Damn! I promised myself to go to one of these and it coincides with the one Saturday I'm on a course!

Milton Keynes the city is rather cool, it's central road is "Midsummer Boulevard" which aligns with the sunrise on Midsummer's Day, the light shining straight along it and striking the huge glass frontage of the railway station at it's western end, lighting it up like a flame.

So I'm in the area (so to speak) for other reasons that weekend, and I think I might be able to pop in for an hour or two.

Can't recall what time the last MK splunch I was at finished, but do you think there might be a good chance that you're still there at, say 4pm?

I could try and get there earlier if needs be, as I can't pass up this opportunity to catch up with a few people!

Also just to repeat, no one has to cross dress, and if you are super nervous about it then please come along anyway and go with us in your 'male' clothes, because once you have been there and seen it for yourself this will really help a lot! A lot of straight/non CD/etc people go to the club so whatever you feel like wearing on the day, you won't stand out at all (in the club or at the hotel)

Campanile booked - we're deffo coming!!!!!

So I'm being sent to London for the week leading up to it, and because Milton Keynes is on the route back to Birmingham and/or Yorkshire, I can make it!

I'll give them a couple of days to confirm if they are coming or not (I have emailed) and if not then their space is up for grabs

There are cancellable rooms left if you wanna grab a whole one just in case, and the swan hotel about 50 yrds up the road from it still has rooms too a bit cheaper.

If all else fails though I am sure someone can sneak you in. I can bring a single air bed just in case
