That is a very good price, considering it was £7.00 when it was new.
I know there are some listing on eBay for some Splosh magazines at the moment (issues 18, 24 27 and 32) but are alot more than 8 quid. There are also an artscene wetlook magazine (with a current asking price of £104 !!!!)
The later issues (15 onwards) were printed in relatively large numbers for a niche mag and tend to go for about £15-25 (as you've probably seen) and come up for sale on a fairly regular basis. Mostly selling at the lower end of that! There aren't enough of us to create enough demand.
The low number issues (especially 1-10) are pretty rare now and these are the issues that would tend to go for larger amounts to fans prepared to buy them.
I don't have a print version of number 1 and never did and so I bought a digital download version of it from the Splosh! store about 15 years ago. I don't think even Bill Shipton had any copies of the first issue left on sale by the early 2000s.
Really? Are these back issues worth that much? Now I feel really sick! I used to have a 'Good food costs less at Sainsbury's' carry bag stuffed with the things up in my loft. If the valuations you say are correct then that would be a substantial inheritance for me. Problem is I think my brother tossed them out when he moved into my old house. That'll teach people to throw things away, I knew my hoarding instinct was right!
Does anyone know of a gallery showing all the covers from start to finish where you can identify which edition is which? Perhaps we should be asking LeRex about this and he could look around his underground vault of porn in Switzerland! I once had an article published in one of the editions and I'd love to see what crap I wrote back then. I remember being so excited to see it in print. Simple times back in the 20th century!

In so many ways you are a genius, LeRex. Thanks for curating all this stuff. I think it might have been No. 26 I got a letter published in. I shall have to look out for a copy and see what an embarrassment I made of myself!
