I LOVE old WAM lore.
Regale us of tales!
You can't help hope that, long after we're dead, & people in the future won't look back on us & our strange activities with shame, but with objective interest, that some intrepid future archaeologist will uncover the true identity of the mysterious Doodmon!
If the last pic in your post is what you're thinking is the "Doodmon collaboration," I got bad news. It's actually a "collaboration" with a former UMDer named PsychoPaulie... So named because the guy was unpredictable... and not in a good way. (I think he used to help Lenny out, so maybe he can back me up on this?)
Ah fair enough, thanks for the info, I was basing it purely on the real pie hits being a very close match to Doodmon's work

I mean, I tried it a few times, with no success. It basically boils down to: 1) Are you willing to buy some pies to have in your car, knowing you might have to toss them? 2) Are you able to convince total strangers to do this on camera? 3) Are you okay with MANY rejections? 4) Are you okay with someone "thinking about it" for a long time... and then not doing it?
Let's just say that, in my first year, I spent most of an entire day at a local Hooters. (Same one where Jill and SS28 girl worked FYI.) With a fan/customer of mine who said he had a "knack" for getting girls-on-the-street to take a pie. We discussed the idea with a couple of the waitresses... Found one who was gonna do it after her shift ended... Left and came back... And at 1 AM I went home. No footage, no pies.
A couple months later we pulled a "success" when he got a local waitress to get pied after her shift ended. Again, hours of waiting for one good (not amazing) pieing. After that, I kinda realized it wasn't worth it to me. If I was gonna invest the time, I'd rather have a model show up camera-ready in a well-lit environment, for multiple scenes.

So the book that I bought, "How To Get Random Women To Take A Pie In The Face In Public", probably won't work?

This is the greatest thread I've read in a while. Love rolling back through old memories. Where is that first set of Phoebe pictures from? I've been around a few days but I haven't come across them before. Just curious. I'd be willing to grab them if they're still on a download store somewhere. I'm just cynical enough to enjoy watching her get destroyed knowing she's not into it.
thanks for reminding me about Tony's site (I had forgotten her)...but, I was actually talking about Tabitha, who had site (a simple web page with pics and mailing address) around 1999 or so....hosted by a kind soul from the UK (forgive me, but I am forgetting his name at present, possibly 'Simon" ?)...
I set up that Tabitha page around then... Matt/Simon, Florida/UK, close enough . Unless there was another guy who took it over. I can't recall why I stopped hosting it.
I was a huge Phoebe fan back in the day myself. She was cute as hell and seemed to relish the mess.
I vividly remember the PieFightGirls collaboration where Neil included some outtakes of the "Where's the Piece" scene at the end of the video. There's one part where she's been thoroughly pied and the script called for her to open a zip-lock bag and she can't do it because it's too slippery. A little bit of her "prickly" personality came through in that moment. That took a little of the bloom off the rose for me. Having said that, I still loved her stuff.
I have never cared whether someone is a "true" wammer any more than I care that Charlise Theron doesn't really drive around the desert in a post-apocalyptic big rig with her face painted in grease. I know what I like and if someone presses the right buttons, then that's all that matters.
Lenny said: When she did shoots at Mark Kelly's compound he referred to her as a "Mary Poppins" type, as she seemed very prude and distant on and off camera. I don't think he enjoyed working with her all that much but you can ask him his thoughts about her and her male partner as I don't want to misquote his opinion.
Ah, I'd forgotten about that shoot, but yeah... I was a big Phoebe fan but that material didn't do much for me. You could sense there was something "off" behind-the-scenes. Nice to get official confirmation.
Then again, this is a woman who dressed modestly in every video and didn't even want to swear on camera. And she does a shoot where literally no other woman is wearing a scrap of clothing after the first five minutes of any scene. (And let's not forget the dildo scenes...) I could see her being more than uncomfortable.
What dildo scenes? What video is she in with naked women???? I missed out on all that apparently!!! Fill me in, Rich.

Sorry for the misunderstanding... Lots of scenes get shot in one day, and the other scenes from that shoot definitely had naked women and a dildo or two.
None of those were IN Phoebe's scenes... But I feel like she had to witness some of that....
Ah, the beautiful Phoebe. Whether she was truly "into it" or not, one of the all-time greats. I liked all of her work, especially the happy birthday video she did. Of course, the pie sandwich pretty much goes without saying!

YMMV.
You left out a biggie depending on what you're planning on doing with the footage:
5) Are you ready to ask them to sign a release that states the video is going to be sold in a fetish community? Because if you had 5 girls say yes up until this point, they would turn into 5 no's.
And of anyone wants to walk down memory lane, Messy Toni drove down to meet up with me I think around 1997-98 if my memory serves. Anyone remember her?
I was not forgetting you (not permanently anyways )...the site that you set up for me / Tabitha was great and WAY advanced for a streaming media site (for its time)...remember when on the first day it went live there were so many downloads going on at the same time that you nearly freaked out about the bandwidth and crashing you server..? ...good times
But ACTUALLY, before you came along (which was Tabitha's second or third resurrection (I almost typed resur -erection)...when I FIRST made the jump from Hurley's newsletter to the interwebs....there was this guy in Britain who put up a simple page with just pictures (maybe one gif, but I can't remember) and the address to write to for the video....then there was a break for about a year or so when the tape fell into different ownership...then I got it back again (thanks to a kind and understanding wam/wsm pioneer)...THEN you came along and nicely offered to host a site (this was before I met Soundguy -- who was local)....Anyways...that's How I THINK things transpired....I trust my chronological memory less and less these years...
AS for Phoebe's site...it definitely inspired me to do my shoot....which I had wanted my (super pretty) ex-gf to "star" in (one of those rare females who was/is really into messy stuff -- especially pies in the face)....but alas, the opportunities/forces did not align themselves and that never worked out)...but after several attempts to do various slapstick projects....Tabitha responded to an advert I posted in a local weekly....she sent me a pig-tailed photo (pretty, but turns out she was WAY prettier in RL than in her school girl photo)...we arranged the shoot (while my new gf was away for a week) and shot the thing in about 3 hours....it wasn't until I got back home after driving her home that I was able to see the footage and.....

All this love for Phoebe. All of her fans would love to see her come back. Including me. But you know what? In our heads, she is still 25. In reality, she is now about 45 or 46!!! Think about that! I am sure she is still hot, but the Phoebe we know and love no longer exists.
SStuff said: So named because the guy was unpredictable... and not in a good way. Long story short: .. Then hung around in the hotel room and made the model BEYOND uncomfortable.
I possess this UNCANNY ability to make females uncomfortable (annoyed, irritated by my presence) by my merely SHOWING UP and saying "Hi!".
And, then, what gets me is, when I hear a story from a completely trustworthy female friend I know, who tells me of her CONTINUED interaction with a (obvious non-boyfriend) guy who has whipped his dick out and pressed it against her, multiple instances.
When she did shoots at Mark Kelly's compound he referred to her as a "Mary Poppins" type, as she seemed very prude and distant on and off camera.
Do these videos still exist somewhere? I know Phoebe's site is still up..... are Mark's videos included in her catalogue or are they elsewhere for purchase?

LOVED Messy Toni! Especially the pudding in the red spandex body suit!

There are a lot of 45 & 46 year old (and older) women who are still very HOT! And very sexy! And some of them love to get messy!
I LOVE that variety! And Phoebe would probably look awesome in a hot outfit, getting a pie sandwich like in the past!
Everyone should go over to the MilfWam forum and check out the pics! VERY HOT!
(Sorry, for the newer folks; there is no MilfWam forum. )

(But I *do* know what you mean, Bozo! Just like the ladies/girls from the TV shows and movies that we grew up with are etched in our memories at their respective ages; and in a lot of cases, they look nothing like that now! Even the gorgeous Natalie Wood would be about 76 if she were alive today. As much as I loved her, I don't think I'd be rushing to put a pie in her face! Besides, RJ could probably *still* beat the crap out of me! )
I think that the first pie video I ever bought was one of Phoebe's. There was just something about her. The video still holds up to scrutiny today, despite the low resolution and lack of nudity, and if Phoebe was only in it for the money, she hid that better than most only-in-it-for-the-money models.
I'm sure that a lot of us were more innocent back then. Well, OK, maybe not more *innocent*, given the subject matter, but more optimistic and willing to believe that an attractive woman was genuinely into pies. Those women really do exist (see also: Kittenish, among others), and even if Phoebe wasn't one of them, she did a good job of standing in for them.

Agree with this. Back in 2003 I hadn't even come across UMD yet, just Phoebe's site, and was so blown away that an attractive woman was getting messy that I simply assumed, out of innocence, that she must be into it herself. After all, if she's gone to all the trouble of setting up a website (which is an entirely voluntary thing to do, right?), then surely she must like it herself, mustn't she...?
At the time I had no way of knowing about the world dividing into "wammers" and "models", or that a significant other might be the real power behind the pie
I still watch my Phoebe VHS tapes once in a while. I also get my water from a well, and can get 6 extra channels with the rabbit ears as long as there isn't an overpowering northeast wind.
I have remained silent on the Phoebe "legend" whenever it came up on this forum, but now that Lenny has given a very accurate accounting of the real Phoebe I would concur that Lenny and my own experiences in shooting her at my ranch are the same. The "legend" of Phoebe is largely a fantasy dreamed up by the folks on this forum, cos the Phoebe that Lenny and I met while shooting pies and gunging videos was a totally different person. Lenny is correct, Phoebe was never a wam fan herself, and it was her boyfriend/husband who came to my house who was the true wam fan. I felt a bit sorry for Phoebe because she was obviouly coaxed into making these videos, firstly to please her hubby, but later purely to earn a side income.
As Lenny will attest, she felt totally uncomfortable and awkward about every scene we shot with her....Lenny and I could not even manage to get her to crack a smile or even act like she was enjoying the experience, which she obviously did not. To be fair....she was probably freaked out by the other 6 girls who were staying at my house, who were professional adult fetish models who get into the moment and act in an erotic fashion with a touchy feely performance in the pies. After doing several scenes with our other girls, where she appeared totally uncomfortable, Lenny decided to do a solo chocolate gunging scene with her alone in my garden, but that did not work out too well either, because she acted lame like a department store mannequin in that scene as well. So....blame that on me and Lenny for being weirdos who like wam erotica, cos neither of us like "Mary Poppins" wam...and we like to our wam on the spicier side.
BTW...nudity was not a factor, because Lenny and I were very respectful and we knew she did not do nudity, while all the other 6 girls in our scenes would strip fully naked. Lenny staged the scenes respectfully so that our girls did not strip naked while Phoebe was in the scene, and Lenny staged his scenes so that all the girls remain clothed while Phoebe was in the scene, and then Phoebe would exit the scene and our girls would only strip naked for the finale after Phoebe had left etc. So, Lenny tried hard to accommodate her, but nonetheless she did not feel comfortable working with any of our professional models.
I felt bad because working with Phoebe was like making a hostage video wtih somebody who just was doing what her husband wanted her to do and they needed the money. She was only making videos for around 2 years, and so the reason she gave it up is pretty obvious, she hated wam and put her foot down to doing her husband's fetish.
The amazing thing is....how this "legend" has been built up over the years....for somebody who only produced a handful of scenes and then she wised up and decided to quit, because this was not something that she enjoyed doing.
If you ain't having "fun".....which is what Lenny and I and our UK girls were always all about....then you should not be in the wam business just to make some extra money from a download store. I remember Rob Blaine once hired a supermarket checkout girl to do some messy scenes for him, and that did not work out too well either. Stick to hiring professional fetish models or if they are amateurs, make sure they are really in love the subject matter.....otherwise you get what looks like a hostage video.

Well, the "bakery girls" Neil Edwards used in some PFG videos come to mind as an exception ... unless it was just total BS that they worked at the shop where he bought his pies?
I think the reason Phoebe is considered legendary is that for many on here, like myself, she was our "first". The first pie scene I discovered when I first got on the Net was the Phoebe's Vol 4 - here scene with Tracy deciding who takes pies better - blondes or brunettes.
You never forget your first. Also, there is so much more out there today than back in 1998 and so her stuff really stood out.
For 20th century wamers Phoebe in this context; the reluctant, accidental wam star, is touching something deep inside. In the pre internet days a pie in the face was a MUCH bigger deal. No matter who got hit or why, any context after the fact was secondary. What stuck in the mind was "whoa!... did you see (insert name) get hit with a pie!?" I remember feeling scared any time this subject came up in a public conversation. I'd think "Oh no!...please not me" And feel the deep down dread of the aftermath. "Ha Ha, you got pied!" But at the same time those feelings were exciting...in a lot of ways. If this is the true story Phoebe, then it's a great one because a pie in the face in the 21st century is not as shocking or humiliating. Her story captures the real time transition. The images and video of Phoebe pied are timeless and classic. Long live Phoebe Rodrigues!
Just because Phoebe didn't have a pie or slime fetish doesn't mean she hated getting pied or slimed period. It's possible she didn't mind making the videos she shot privately with her boyfriend/husband that they sold in their store (it's even possible, though not especially likely, that she even enjoyed doing them a little bit for a while, and then grew tired of it). Of course, it's also possible she hated every minute of it, but we really shouldn't jump to that conclusion based on the available evidence. What that evidence does indicate is that Phoebe wasn't a true WAMmer, and she hated working for other producers where the distribution of the videos fell totally outside of her control, and felt especially uncomfortable if porn models were involved or she was asked to use vulgar language. That's far from the same thing as her hating getting pied and slimed period.
Phoebe wasn't a true WAMmer and there was some deception in the way she was presented online. I'm not contesting this. But the "Phoebe hated getting messy" business a number of people are now throwing about as if it were a fact is pretty damn circumstantial.
