Going back to the 'bringing the love for Clown Julie' message...her clips have always been my favourites with a focus on silly slapstick slosh. And yes the fact that we know it's her 'thing' adds extra appeal. I would love to see her do some new stuff with the likes of Candy, Maria, WAM Princess or a return battle with Sammy Jane (her arch rival) would be fab. And of course if SStuff ever do a UK tour.....wouldn't that be great...ha, ha.
I think she's busy these days but still follows the WAM scene and I'm sure she'll catch these messages at some point. I think we should keep sending her the love and hope she does something wonderful again soon.
Interesting thread. I recall very clearly (in about 2003) reading through Ms R's website (as one did, leaving no word unread - there were very few pictures around by today's standards!) Phoebe did actually confess to 'not being a wammer' in the FAQs section. She had a sort of Q&A message board, too, which was mostly fans grumbling about not getting instant replies to their messages.
I did like her stuff, though - very much. It was rather nicely done.

I'd feel much guiltier about hijacking this thread if it weren't already beating a ten-years-dead horse that gets relitigated here at least once a year!
I think Clown Julie's rep isn't bigger because she shot a lot of stuff before there was a way to do decent-quality clips online. So she would put out these 10-second "teaser" clips that made you excited for an entire video... that never came. Yes, she later did DVDs, mostly with her husband (can't remember his name but he was the male clown, right?).... But they were never as good for me as those early clips with the big colored foam pies.
Anyway, shame these are such lo-res videos, but... welcome to 1998! I don't think she would mind if I shared them. As far as I know these never got released on video. Despite not being a "real" cake, and despite the lack of aftermath, her cake fall remains one of the best I've ever seen. (Aside from the ones I shoot myself... )
EDIT: So you can't embed videos here, even if they're small. I just went and ahead and uploaded the three best ones here. Enjoy! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k9kEKKPwnEI
Love it. Not even sure what this thread is about anymore. Need a messy Venn diagram!
1. Phoebe. Folks (myself included) will always have a soft spot for her. Great vids for the time period. Good actress in that I actually thought she was a true blue wammer. (Not sure if it matter she isn't.) Definitely recall her popping up with comeback promises and there seemed to be a mix of entitled UMD folks (you owe us new material even though I've contributed nothing) and her somewhat pissy retorts (well, y'all suck, I'm outta here).
2. Clown Julie. Thanks, Rich, for bringing up. Agree with all that was said and her foam pies and very British knockers were awesome. She also had great facial expressions, a real joie de vivre. Glad to see her getting the praise she deserves.

She was/is - her name is Messygirl
Yep, pretty sure the original order was MG, then Julie, then Phoebe. (In terms of prominent females who launched their own websites.... There were obviously other messy models, but they all shot for Splosh, MessyFun, or WAMTEC, and didn't have their own personal WAM sites.)
In my mind WAM is like most other things. There will be those that love it and those that fake it. The better they are at faking it, the more people get deflated when the wizard comes out from the curtain of their wam fantasy. People bought and enjoyed videos. They got what felt like was their monies worth at the time. Enjoy it for what it was, if you don't want to know about the wizard, keep the curtain closed and don't read all the posts.
Regis your mate is out there. Somewhere covered in pies looking for you. The person currently in the checkout line at your local store that you missed because you were posting here.

Regis, you know that girl that pepper sprayed you outside the store?? She could be the one!!!
error correction: i mistakenly called Phoebe's book "Confessions of..." instead of "The Perils of..." as I was writing from (obviously failing with age) memory...I do actually have the book
Rich: you statement about early female wam models who had their own sites left out one notable exception (at least one)....
I'll forever be grateful to Phoebe. I was shocked when I came across her site all those years ago after typing "pie in the face" into a search engine. How bizarre and wonderful to realize there were others out there who enjoyed seeing and taking a pie in the face.
I do think Phoebe was exceptionally beautiful, certainly the cutest face being pied on the web at the time by a long shot. Her pies were just about perfect and she took them so delightfully well on camera. I still watch her clips sometimes and they still hold up for me.
I have quite fond memories of Clown Julie also and particularly loved how cheeky she was. You could always tell she was having fun and she was just the right amount of risque. That said, I was never a fan of the foam pies or the clown angle and so I doubt I'd have bought her material today.
Wamajama, were you perhaps referring to Messy Toni as one of the "notable exceptions"? I loved her site. I actually have quite fond memories of your SplatTV site, too, but that was a few years later, if I recall correctly
For me, the greatest loss to WAM was Messy Mercedes.... That girl would go into mud with absolutely no fear. She was stunning, ballsy and dressed like a total vixen and her friend was cute too..
Too bad she never did a mud video (as far as I am aware)
It was interesting reading comments posted to "her" here all those years, especially when the male wammers would always suck up to "her" and all fight each other if anyone said the slightest negative thing, when the whole time it was a male masquerading as Phoebe and occasionally instigating the fights, probably to keep the posts bumping up to the top to get more video sales. Sorry if I ruined anyone's fantasies LOL .
When she did shoots at Mark Kelly's compound he referred to her as a "Mary Poppins" type, as she seemed very prude and distant on and off camera. I don't think he enjoyed working with her all that much but you can ask him his thoughts about her and her male partner as I don't want to misquote his opinion. I personally had no problem with them.
I'm pretty sure someone will be back posting here when they need money or they decide to close down the download store. We have not heard the last of them

Dude, thanks for uploading those! That's a total blast from the past. Clown Julie had a great pair, BTW.

Ah, I'd forgotten about that shoot, but yeah... I was a big Phoebe fan but that material didn't do much for me. You could sense there was something "off" behind-the-scenes. Nice to get official confirmation.
Then again, this is a woman who dressed modestly in every video and didn't even want to swear on camera. And she does a shoot where literally no other woman is wearing a scrap of clothing after the first five minutes of any scene. (And let's not forget the dildo scenes...) I could see her being more than uncomfortable.
Ahh Phoebe. I discovered her and Julie at pretty much the same time, when I was first getting acquainted with WAM years ago. I have bought a good few of her videos via her store and I love what I've bought. One of her friends in particular, Karla, was exceptionally cute in her videos, though I feel she wasn't as 'into it' as Phoebe or some of her other friends. Still love them though! I've been around UMD and WAM forums for quite some time now, but some of the information in this thread was stuff I've never heard of until now. An interesting read, to be sure.
Not to hijack the thread (too much more than it already has ), but I'd also like to chime in on Julie and her videos, since she's arguably my favorite WAMmer of all time. Several months back, somebody on UMD started a thread about her. After she responded to the post and said hello, I figured what the heck, I ought to drop her an email and ask if she still has any videos to sell (I'd previously bought everything of hers that was available via Splosh's download stores before Bill passed and they went down). I did get through to her, asking if any of her videos were still available, specifically the older stuff, including the full videos of the clips that were posted here (btw Rich, thanks so much for sharing those!!). She's quite kind and lovely to chat with. I last heard from her a few months ago, saying she had found the tapes but that she lacked the equipment to convert them to a digital form and that she was pursuing said equipment. I haven't heard back from her since and I haven't really followed up, mainly since I know she's quite busy with life and I don't want her to go too far out of her way for little old me. It's been a little while though, so perhaps I'll give her a ring soon and see if anything's changed.
thanks for reminding me about Tony's site (I had forgotten her)...but, I was actually talking about Tabitha, who had site (a simple web page with pics and mailing address) around 1999 or so....hosted by a kind soul from the UK (forgive me, but I am forgetting his name at present, possibly 'Simon" ?)...
I probably posted it last time Phoebe came up on the board but anyways here are some quite rare pictures for you.
Also she pulls some absolutely fantastic expressions before her pie sandwhich video, it wasn't on the original version I bought on VideoCD many years ago (my first Wam purchase I believe)
Finally, on a completely different subject I bought an older Anglefan vid the other day and I'm pretty sure its got a sneaky Doodmon collaboration in it.

If the last pic in your post is what you're thinking is the "Doodmon collaboration," I got bad news. It's actually a "collaboration" with a former UMDer named PsychoPaulie... So named because the guy was unpredictable... and not in a good way. (I think he used to help Lenny out, so maybe he can back me up on this?)
Long story short: He helped arrange that Chicago shoot for Anglefan Ken, model and everything... Then hung around in the hotel room and made the model BEYOND uncomfortable. Depending what scenes you've seen, it's pretty obvious that she's 5 seconds away from walking out. So that video never did it for me. (The guy you're hearing in the background is Paulie, not Doodmon.)
The elusive Dood never collaborated with ANYONE as far as I know. I traded emails (and clips) with him for quite a while, but even then he wouldn't reveal his true name or location... which is fine. I was just glad for the content, however it came, and didn't mind the secrecy. (FYI to further muddy the waters, Anglefan did a few public videos himself that have since been mislabeled on YouTube as "Doodmon" videos. You can tell the difference because Ken's vids use shaving cream, and Dood only used real pies. Also, the girls didn't sign any consent forms for the Anglefan ones. He also sold Lenny's VHS dub of Doodmon's first batch of clips before Lenny found out and made him stop. )

Doodmon was the best. I wish there was more of his work was released. I know some producers have footage of his that they cant put out, which is unfortunate.
I'm surprised no other producer has tried his style of shooting. Of course, do it with legal consent, not like the Anglefan vids. No surprise assaults, like those South American clown prank vids. It would just be interesting to see more natural reactions like the ones in those vids.
