Fighting for truth/fairness/proof/science, in general, anywhere, should be one's top priority.
Agreed. A few elections ago, Rick Santorum stood in front of America and claimed repeatedly that education was for idiots. If I remember right, he has three degrees. The dumbing down of America is complete. No importance upon education results in us being one of the dumbest countries on Earth.
As a result of that, roughly 60% of us believe in ghosts, devils, angels, heaven, hell, spirits, bigfoot, yeti, mothman, and space aliens, yet don't believe in viruses, climate change, or science in general.
Now we have Drumpf, Nazi's infiltrating every walk of life, 4.4% of the world's population taking 75% of the pharmaceuticals and 80% of opiods, everyone on drugs, alcohol and weed, and a whopping 60% of us believing that the end of times will be in their lifetimes.
But, b-b-b-but the emails! The 1% want us fat, dumb, sick, poor, uneducated, and doped up. They can control us better that way.
80% on drugs. 100% on drugs. So what? Doesn't matter. Who's define what number is "bad"? That's like saying 100% of people are on food & air & water: they're If the drug relieves pain & increases pleasure & outweighs the harms, then it's a non-issue.
Whereas millions of people eating animals physically testably quantifiably causes & forces billions of animals to be tortured - by forced breeding, confinement - & killed compared to if those non-vegetarians didn't. It's that simple, given no other specific useful or relevant information.
2 incredibly important lessons critical thinkers consider 1) One should evaluate the value (moral, political: it's all just the same) of choices, decisions, opinion, actions based upon all possible choices, actions one could take. NOT on what some pre-existing opinions by others happen to be. 2) the issue of whether to be loyal to the truth/facts/honesty & maximizing fairness or loyal to a person/political party/ideology (nationalism, communism, anarchy, capitalism, whatever). Granted, if one is going to be loyal to a person/party above truth & fairness, then one will have to expect others to do the same for whatever THEIR reasons are.
With lockdowns being extended, and major events banned, in many countries, at least one festival is still going ahead. Really looking forward to seeing Panic at the Tesco on the Sunday night.
