The eighteenth Bristol Splunch will take place on Saturday, 20th August 2016 from 2:00pm - 7:00pm in Horts Bar, 49 Broad Street, Bristol, BS1 2EP, and for those who are still peckish/thirsty later at some eatery/watering hole elsewhere in or near the city. This is a vanilla meet; all over 18 from anywhere are welcome, and entry is free I might even buy your first drink. What is it? It's a 'vanilla' pub social meet - drink, chat, meet'n'greet, listen, learn, advise, offer opinions, discuss substances, etc, make friends, maybe arrange a session. This is usually followed by a meal in the evening, and an outdoor mud session the following day; always subject to the bl**dy weather. If I can answer any more questions, I'll be delighted to help; and in any event to welcome you to the Splunch. How do I get there? Broad Street is about twenty minutes walk from Bristol Temple Meads railway station, easily accessible from almost anywhere in the country, and there are several car parks nearby. From the railway station exit, turn right along Temple Gate to the roundabout, cross over onto Victoria Street, continue over the river bridge into High Street, and bear gently left into Broad Street as High Street turns to the right into Wine Street. Horts Bar is about one hundred yards down on the right. From the bus/coach station, exit onto Whitson Street, left into Lower Maudlin Street, cross Lewins Mead to Rupert Street and turn right. After about two hundred yards, turn left into Christmas Street, cross Quay Street and through the stone archway into Broad Street. Horts Bar is about fifty yards up on the left. For those driving, at the bottom of the M32/Newfoundland Street, turn right onto Bond Street, take the first exit at the roundabout into The Haymarket, turn left into Bridewell Street, left into Nelson Street, right into Halifax Street and into the multi-storey on All Saints' Street - only £5 for the whole day, and closer than any other one. Please note that many roads in Bristol are subject to a 20mph speed limit; the mayor, who introduced the limit, has already been caught speeding. To get to the bar, from All Saints' Street, turn right into Pithay, right into Tower Lane, left into Newmarket Avenue, and right onto Broad Street - the bar is a few yards down on the right. (Politically correct notice other car parks are available in Bristol.) For those flush enough (or subsidised) flying into Bristol (Lulsgate) Airport, take the 331 bus service to the bus/coach station and proceed as above from there. Hotels the usual chains are readily available: Premier Inn, Lewins Mead (approx a half mile from £81); Premier Inn, Haymarket (next to the bus station, approx a half mile from £74.50); Premier Inn, King Street (approx a half mile from £78); Hotel Ibis, Temple Quay (approx a half mile from £104); Hotel Ibis, Anchor Road (approx a half mile from £114); Travelodge, Anchor Road (approx mile from £116); Travelodge, Mitchell Lane (approx a half mile from £101); Holiday Inn Express (approx a half mile from £105.30); Holiday Inn (approx 1 mile from £98.06); Novotel, Victoria Street (approx a half mile from £105); and Mercure Brigstow (approx a half mile from £69). For those hotels that are not available for Saturday only, rooms seem to be readily available for two-night stays, either Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday nights at very reasonable rates. Other hotels are available check laterooms.com or similar sites, try the Royal Hotel, Avonmouth, or check the out-of-town hotels from the above chains. Dinner - please let me know if you'd like to stay for dinner on Saturday evening; it's likely to be Chinese. I'll be hoping to do an outdoor mud shoot on the Sunday (always subject to the bl**dy weather and availability of models and sober drivers). If you have any further questions, post them here or pm me.
I think we'll possibly miss out dinner though as want to get some shoots done having booked a large room. Any ladies thinking of attending who fancy being paid to be messy drop me a line - possibility of muddy shoots too as always depending on the weather. Fingers crossed...
I'd be up for my first one that weekend but sadly I've got a busy diary that weekend as I'll be over in Chelmsford working and celebrating as it's my 31st birthday that weekend
Thanks for the private message about this Mike and as always I'll try and get there if other things don't get in the way which they have a habit of doing I'm afraid.
I'm sure we can come up with a suitable punishment for that outburst when you next visit the moors of Langstonedale.
Don't forget that a punishment for a splosher is NOT water, gunge, etc, etc, etc.
You'll have to subject Maria to grit, fluff, and dust.
LOL! Fluff and dust, nice plan. I was just thinking we'd chain her to the dungeon wall, in a nice gunge outfit, all clean and dry, and then Felicity and Honeysuckle could gunge the hell our of each other in front of her while being very careful not to splash any.
Now definitely coming BTW and possibly bringing a new model with me who wants to meet other producers to shoot with - she's done two mud and four gunge for me, absolutely loves it, totally professional, and can travel. Not totally confirmed yet but a definite possible.
Anyone know any hotels in Bristol City Centre (walking distance - want to be able to drink at the Splunch) that have bathrooms that are both nice and arranged so shower filming is possible? Have stayed in the Holiday Inn (not Express) before and the rooms were fantastic but the showers not convenient for camera angles.
Ideal would be a proper wetroom, Dutch-style as seen in many of Erik E's videos. Stayed in a hotel in Stockholm that had an amazing one (and wasn't a disabled room with all the extra rails and stuff, just a standard room but with a wet-room bathroom), would love to find something like that in the UK.
Hoping to get along but just a maybe at the moment as things are very busy.
Just a reminder of what happened after the Bristol SPlunch a couple of years ago as well. We're hoping to fill the Tank with Gunge in the next week or so but don't think it will still be full by the 20th. I had hoped to combine filling the tank with a Reading Splunch but think timer is against me to pull that off !

Very long term lurker, this is my first post. I'm thinking about coming to this with my gf. We've been getting messy together for a while, quite apprehensive about this but excited to meet other people into it. My gf isn't really a splosher but indulges me quite regularly and is quite interested in learning more from other people like me!
I hope its not intruding to just turn up to something like this?

A splunch isn't a venue for getting gunged, though if you want to book a session with someone before hand or afterwards I'm sure that can be arranged. But if so, approach the person you want to work with directly and ask them.

No, it's a calm vanilla pub meet - no gunging or anything else attention grabbing, but lot of drinking and socialising and getting to meet and chat with some really cool people.

Challenge - I will not be gunging you there or the next day. I'll be concentrating on filming after the main splunch and then hopefully on the sunday too. If that date was an option for me I'd have offered it during the course of our emails.
There is a possibility Maria might be available on the sunday for a mud session, (messy will not be possible only muddy) BUT this will be dependent on the weather and you attending the splunch on the sat so you can be given details of location, AND would also depend on you being able to make your own way there. I stress it is a possibility NOT a definite
Listen up here though - I think you should just attend the splunch for the fun of it rather than expecting a session, because they are great fun and it's lovely to be able to talk to like minded people. then if something happens to get sorted for the next day, cool - if not no problem. you haven't lost anything and have gained friends.
