The Man & The Wife initiated their UMD store a few months back, just about when all of this quarantine, social distancing, mask wearing etc. started. During their months of operation, they have produced many creative Slapstick gems that have provided some quality entertainment as we work our way through the various phases to full reopening, when ever that will be. I was intrigued last week when they posted some teaser pics of Ellie, a very attractive lady who happens to be a good friend of "The Wife." Ellie and "The Wife" are two very appealing "neighbor lady" types that you can't help imagining them being the targets of messy pies if you happen to see them together at a grocery store or restaurant. A visualization that occurred quite often, I must admit, when I used to get out of the house more. Ellie made her slapstick debut in The Man and The Wife production of "Table for Two." The premise for the scene is a tried and true, but always appreciated slapstick scenario where a couple of pretty ladies visit a restaurant and one of them is on the receiving end of a messy onslaught of very colorful pies, slime and baking ingredients while the other pretty lady remains totally immaculate.

The scene is played very well by the 2 lovely ladies. As the vibrant colored pies & assorted ingredients find their mark, the initial "victim" is obliterated with mess, a perfect chromatic line of demarcation forms on the backdrop separating splatter from pristine. The side of the table where the lady receiving the desserts is seated displays a stark contrast to the undisturbed side where her counterpart is suggesting menu options while remaining totally clean. She nonchalantly accepts and kind of enjoys witnessing her lunch partner's fate.

As expected in all great slapstick productions, the nonchalant companion does not remain immaculate and eventually receives her "just desserts" which include a barrage of flawlessly thrown pies splattering nicely on the pretty lady's face.

Ellie is awesome, she plays the scene perfectly! She does a wonderful job of building the anticipation, her glasses remain intact & unscathed until splat! the 1st of many pies finds her pretty face. Accompanied by many more, I might add. The Wife, being the "Slapstick Queen", has the most superb reactions through the entire scene. Ellie is a very welcome addition to "The Man and The Wife" productions and I really look forward to her next video.

I don't have much in the way of a budget for WAM videos, but I find myself buying Stella mud videos every so often--more than works of any other producer.
