First she honestly tried not to flood her boots, but in vain. Sometimes the surf suddenly grew stronger, and in such a moments flooding was inevitable. But the water in the Ladoga lake proved to be surprisingly warm, as in some southern sea (usually that big lake doesn't get warm even in summer). It was so awesome to swim, despite the fact that the boots lost constantly and the dress disturbed the movements!
