Returning after lessons from her village school, she, instead of going home to do homework, decided to linger a little on the lake. It's banks was muddy and covered with reeds. Playing in the mud with her wellingtoned leg, she thought, "I will smear myself in the mud completely and come home all dirty, to spite my parents!"
