Be super prepared... not just prepared

eg

enough towels
hot water & heating working, serviced & reliable
spare clothes
shampoo and shower gel
miles of plastic, everything covered, doubly so if you have time
good stock of drain unfucker & cleaning supplies
food to actually eat
warmed up wam food where appropriate
outfits
charged camera
spare batteries
lights
background
someone to help clean who understands how to do it well & quickly
a vague plan
no marbles

No paper confetti. It stained everyone's skin and the carpet.

Ice cream should be left out for hours before using in a scene unless you really want to freeze your slave.

Some mascara can fuse with cake batter to seal your eyelids closed.

Don't cheap out on garbage bags.... And make sure they have drawstrings! Not to pick them up by, but to cinch the top so you can tie it off.

If you plan to mummify and pie someone, make sure that they have clean clothes other than the ones they are mummified in. Lol slaveboy

I second this one! Forget trashing your bathtub. Just cover everything in 2 mil plastic sheeting. When you're done, roll it all up and stuff it in a heavy, contractor-grade garbage bag. Cleanup takes minutes.

WAM is a LOT more fun when the cleanup is easy!

1) Custard has a more stimulating effect on a sub's nipples if it is stored in a nice cold fridge over night :devil:

2) You can NEVER over-plan logistics for a WAM session... Fail to plan & expect to spend a LONG time clearing up the mess...

3) "Unicorns" exist! If you are VERY lucky you can find one & have an amazing time (even BEFORE you've had a chance to coat them in slime )

From a slightly different perspective:
not everyone's a splosher but most people are willing to give some part of it a try. It's just knowing how to do it right for them.

Practical one: that lots and lots of Mint conditioner (dammit for discontinuing Original Source) slathered onto hair for journey home shifts custard whiff if left on overnight.

1) That spanking isn't the only form of unusual punishment apparently regularly used for discipline in offices and schools across the country

2) That when someone says 'give me a pie', the only logical conclusion is that they want, or at least, deserve a pie in the face

4) That rather than outrage and a trip to HR, the logical response to being pied is an exaggerated 'hrrrgghhhumpphh how dare you?' followed by a pointless attempt at resolving the situation by pieing the person back, even though this can only end in more mess and a tit for tat

5) That the most sensible outfit to decorate in, is your new and/or most expensive dress

6) That it is always worth trying that shortcut through the mud, rather than deciding it isn't worth risking your lovely clothes, s what could possibly go wrong

7) That gunge tank inspectors never seem to learn that they will inevitable end up covered in gunge in the course of their job. see also pie inspectors.

8) women who have been trashed multiple times in the office when wearing new or expensive clothes or when they have had their hair done, will always still feel it is sensible to flag to their colleagues when they are wearing new or expensive clothes or when they have had their hair done

9) For someone's birhday the only appropriate course of acion is to push them into their birthday cake. It's okay, itserves them right for it being their birthda, it's not like it will ruin their special day or anything

I've learned that in a post-50 Shades world where kink has gone mainstream yet is still misunderstood and misrepresented, we should be more open as a community. This applies to gay guys in particular, who should be more open to each other about kinks - this year I accidentally discovered two people I knew were wammers. They had no idea about me or I about them, we just found out by chance. All that missed opportunity.

There's nothing shameful or embarrassing about a kink - especially one as harmless as ours. Getting off on seeing girls or guys take a pie in the face, get wet or get muddy/slimy is mild considering mainstream kink revolves around BDSM, whips, shackles and chains, hot wax etc etc. And I really think presenting wam to the outside world in this way - as a fun, affectionate, sensual way for partners to toy with each other that's a milder, more innocent version of BDSM - is the way to go.

Hmmmm interesting question. I've learned that we all want to laugh and feel free to be ourselves, and we all crave real connections with other humans, embracing the chance for open, honest, meaningful relationships of all kinds. I feel like sometimes we get so caught up in our own lives we fail to see the similarities we all have. Wam has also taught me that I can trust strangers and not be afraid to just be my silly self with pride. I also have enjoyed learning that not only is being able to laugh at yourself (especially when life isn't funny) a good lesson, but it is in fact paramount in order to be happy on this crazy ass planet! HA! Last but not least, that oatmeal does wonders for skin to the max when used in insane volumes that would usually be considered "excessive."

Oh! And I've learned that fellow wammers, the ones I've had the pleasure of meeting anyway, are some of the most thoughtful, sensitive, and caring individuals I've ever had the pleasure of knowing!

Never buy white towels

That (from the non-sexual angle) it's universally comedic. Despite what network television's commonly done, I've still seen friends and family bust a gut laughing at women getting messy all the same. Really opened up a duality to my writing.

Keep your various messy website accounts & passwords in order
and in a little text file, with a note when created, when modified,
when deleted. And don't mix up with your real name
(unless you want to).

The lemon one does a great job just in the shower, no need for overnight wear!

add oil to cake batter / gunge to help keep bits of stuff sticking in long hair

dont get waxed before waming, u can get an infection under the skin

try not to squeeze eyes shut once food is over them as it pushes it into the eyes

cake icing and heavy cream can mix really well or horribly

It's taught me that I am a very strange person.

Some of the tricks I've learned from Splatter Island -

Rinse as you work. If you try to rinse the mess all away at the end, it causes problems. If you splatter a bit, rinse, repeat, it makes things go a lot faster.

I need plastic to lay down. My shower curtain is plastic. Use the shower curtain as dropcloth. When you're done, carefully lift the shower curtain so all the gunk falls into the shower. As the model showers, the shower curtain will come clean, too.

Plastic and water makes things slippery. Put a towel or sheet down over the plastic for the water. The sheet absorb some of the water, and make it easier to walk around.

Video editing is like cooking. If you want to learn how to cook, get your ass in that kitchen and start burning shit! Same thing when it comes to video editing.

Shop around. One store may have some supplies cheapest, and another store may have others. Look around. And don't compare container price, compare cost per unit. If it's 2x the price, but holds 3x the materials, it's a better deal.

Be excruciatingly detailed in your job description. Otherwise, your model might think it's one kind of shoot, while you think it's another. If there's a pay difference, that could lead to an awkward moment. This is what is expected of you, this is what you're paid.

Have a back-up date.

If your setup allows it, don't open anything until the talent arrives.

Baby shampoo doubles as shampoo and body wash. And it's relatively inexpensive. Almost everyone can use it. Great for...guest...clean-up.

Good advice - but better is to use a password manager... Something like LastPass or 1Password are good, they let you use a unique password that's impossible to guess on every site.

So many people use the same password everywhere - and if one site gets broken into, the bad guys have the keys to everything.

I know this a good idea, but I've been using a system more along the lines what OldZoidberg suggests. Are there any free password managers that are good? I'm already up to my eyeballs in fees, so I don't want to take on more charges than I absolutely have to.

Oh, another lesson I've learned through my WAMventures -

Back that thang up.

In early 2015, I had a system failure, and lost most of my data from the original episodes 1 - 22, but I hadn't released all the eps yet. I was able to scrape together enough to get some releases out. But I was absolutely devastated. I thought that Splatter Island was over. Now, I back everything up to Dropbox. Unfortunately, Dropbox does little to prevent human error. I've lost a few pieces of footage, which makes me sad, because I really liked them.

Thanks for the password manager idea. I never heard of that.

And, yeah - I'm pretty bad about not making unique passwords to everything. I get lazy. Some sites, however, force me to create passwords with minimum numbers of various types of characters. Grants.gov forces me to change password every 2 months, which I think is insane overkill.

If your password is password, you're doing something wrong.

Also, don't bring your WAM to work.

Without wanting to derail the thread any more than I already did LastPass is definitely free, and I think 1Password is for the basic service too. They're the only two I know personally and would be happy to recommend...

Lessons from watching:

1. If a pretty young lady suddenly finds she has slime descending on her, she will not move out of the way, but will keep still, other than perhaps looking directly upwards into the stream.

2. If she wants to get clean, all she need do is say "water". However she doesn't do this, unless it is by accident, and then she thinks it is as bad as the slime.

3. Ordering pie, chocolate or cream at certain restaurants in Carolina carries a certain risk.

4. When given a chance to buy materials to pour over their friends, the young ladies of Bristol are very, very cruel.

5. Chekhov noted that, whenever there is a gun on stage, at some point, someone will fire it. The WAM equivalent is a cake. You know that when a cake appears, either it will end up in someone's face, or someone's face will end up in it.

6. That someone is normally called Bree.

7. No matter how clever a young lady is, there is always something she does not know.
