The best WAM sensation of all is feeling the first big pour of golden syrup flowing down inside the underwear of a completely clean and dry outfit that you're going to get messy in. Next is probably a combination of physical sensation and situation, and that's the feeling as the first messy substance is applied to your clean clothes, when playing any kind of messy game where you just have to accept what the other player(s) decide to do to you after losing a turn. I have to agree that it's the first hit of mess especially a pie in the face. I've probably taken over 1000, and no matter how "ready" I am, it's still a bit of a shock. Close 2nd is a big bucket of slime over the head.

I've had (almost) no desire to be messy as an adult (although I've been lucky enough to have experienced being messy in all sorts of ways, many times). I grew away from it some time during my formative development and my messy muse became entirely focussed on women I find attractive.

I'm surprised no-one's mentioned the amazing sensation of head-dunking! I think this is quite an interesting question, because when my wife and I WAM together we've found over the years that what feels best is not necessarily the same as what looks best, and what's most exciting may be neither of those!

To take those briefly in reverse order, for me what's most exciting to think about is something that seems particularly "forbidden". Most recently we've tried PVA glue, which seems particularly "naughty", particularly in hair and on clothes. But actually, once it starts to dry and go sticky, it's not particularly comfortable when we come together.

What looks best for me is something that provides dense coverage, so even when you try to wipe it away its still there. Emulsion paint has been particularly good in this regard, some children's paint, particularly light colours, quite poor, and some foodstuffs - ketchup especially comes to mind - really very poor.

So finally, what "feels" best? I'd say there is absolutely nothing like the sensation of making love covered in a thickish but very slippery substance. We came back to custard recently (this is "pudding" in the US, yes?) which we used very early on together. Its not particularly "naughty", it does wipe away to a rather thin and transparent layer, but boy, does it feel amazing! It's like we're making love wherever our skin makes contact. Fantastic! Some of the slimes, particularly methylcellulose based, are good in this regard too, and straightforward oil is pretty good as well, but for me custard is the best.
