I'm curious here. I won't call any producer out by name, but I've been watching some of my favorite scenes from truly amazing models and producers again and I'm seeing on occasion a pie hit or a cake smash that seems a little rough. I'm sure it's possible to have happened, but to the models and producers out there, I ask the question. Producers, have you tossed a pie you regretted? Like, you you just knew as soon as it hit that it was too hard or hit wrong? Models, have you ever been hit with a pie or cake that actually hurt in the process? What do you do in the scenario? Is it a "ok, shoot is over...." or do you try to recover from the moment and carry on?
I think more serious accidents might happen not so much with pies, but slipping and falling, having props fall over, models slipping and falling off of a table, that sort of thing. Of course, there is the danger of playing in mud too, which sometimes contains sharp sticks, rocks, even broken glass. I hope most people are safety conscious, but shit can still happen. I once stepped into nice deep and thick clay, but there was a shattered rock below and it cut my ankle pretty badly. (and my ankle got wedged in the crack very tightly)
Certainly a pie tin could slice into an eye or the skin on the face, so I'm not trying to make light of the potential for accidents from pies.
Thrown pies can really hurt (esp the hard, heavy pastry cases available off the shelf in the UK)
They need to be thrown to hit the upper part of the face square on. I learned to be pretty accurate (and to be accurate needs some force) but there is an understandable tendency for the receiver to flinch or move their face to the side. This can really hurt for a few seconds but I've never known this to cause an injury. As a rule I would never throw a face pie to a model I was working with for the first time. It takes a bit of trust and build up.
The biggest risk is probably slipping over in the greasy slurry.
I forgot to mention getting burned from mixtures that seemed to have cooled off on the outside but may have been way too hot on the inside. Slime made from corn starch and boiling water is an example of this.
Also perhaps not as much an 'injury' but bad reactions to substances, such as if someone has their skin burned due to sensitivity to shaving cream or other substances.
The 'elephant toothpaste' foamy slime will burn as it's made of concentrated hydrogen peroxide, and I'm sure there are other concoctions that people may not be as cautious with as they should be.
Also heavy containers such as a large pail of molasses or syrup. We could drop it on our foot, or the handle breaks off, or we're pouring it and drop it on the model. Lots can happen.
Pieman said: I have wondered this myself. I've seen some pie hits that were so hard I was almost certain the model got their nose broken.
Yeah, I was curious about the potential for that. It's a bit strange to watch because I certainly don't want to see anyone hurt, but the laugh or giggle that follows a good hit is always a relief.

That is a sexy pie hit. I have heard of a model getting a cut on her cheek from the tin. Again, won't mention names, but I wonder if that's why she was a one hit wonder (no pun intended, but totally intended)

The worst I have personally had happen is my wife having a bad reaction to baby oil. She said it felt like it was burning her. She showered it off and her skin was still bright pink.

One particular model - who was usually pretty hardcore - and already very messy reacted very adversely during one shoot to having their face sloshed with plain soda/seltzer water. They started screaming "Owww! WTF is that?!" "Soda water" We were baffled - but it was clearly burning their eyes so we cut and handed them a towel and gave them a short time out.
The slipping hazard is real, especially with the sheer number of people wamming in their home bathtubs, but I'm frankly surprised that we haven't had more people getting electrocuted by playing with plug-in Magic Wands in their respective puddles. It's gotten better due to more cordless varieties out there, but for a while....eek.
My wife and I had a tarp down in the bathroom and we were getting messy with a gallon of chocolate syrup and a tub of nutella, and after I finished covering her, and pleasuring her, I stood up, and my feet slipped out from under me, and I managed to catch myself, but I blew my knee out. I just laid there on the ground naked and my wife looked at me, and said, "If I have to take you to the hospital, we need to shower." I laughed, and after we both showered, I made it to bed and just iced, but man it hurt for a few days afterwards.
Most injuries are going to be slipping over in the mess. Not just the main mess either- cleaning off too! A thin sheen of gunge in the bath tub is super slippery. I can carefully stand up in a bath of gunge (slippery in its own right)- but it's almost impossible with a thin sheen.
My own? Picked up a few cuts from reeds in the mud hole. And filling a PVC catsuit with gunge lead to several pulled muscles (back/shoulders) and deep red "bra marks" in my skin from the weight of gunge in the suit.

Probably the dissolved CO2 (the fizz) turning the water slightly acidic? I think it forms Carbonic Acid??? Been a while since chemistry class.
I've definitely seen a few clips where models have said that pies have been thrown at such strength that it hurt them. It's been a while so I can't identify them though.
Slipping has to be the most common hazard for sure. I have a MyPieRogative clip somewhere where she's teasing a guy and it's really fun, but he slips at one point and she comments that he should maybe try not breaking his nose. I've dislocated my knees a couple of times already so I dare say I could be following in the footsteps of the fellow wammer above if I ever get back into actually wamming again.

Yeah slipping has been the most recent issue with me or touching things not in the line by a shower because I'm covered in mess
My wife told me to throw as hard as I could to get the splatter but after told me a few made her face go numb from impact and once or twice her head was slammed against the wall in shower. I know once session crusts were to over cooked and I semi missed hitting her square and the crust cut her forehead and lip and that made her cry.
Def once w her and once a a friend they got UTI after some messy rubbing. And handful of times where the gunk burned their eyes cause of the flour or gf flour didn't mix in.
My first gf we played way longer than normal maybe parents were gone or something but the Hershey's strawberry sauce musta sat to long and def stained her skin. Not hurt but we were worried someone at our work would see
I had a friend get pied at a banquet so hard that she thought she broke her nose.
Knowing from both personal experience and from stuff on here that dresses stretch when they get wet (at least maxi dresses do, not sure about other materials), I'd like to know if anybody has ever tripped over a dress and gotten injured.
Broken noses are a real risk with pies to the face. The thrower must ensure that the pie leaves the hand well before it makes contact with the face and also not throw it too hard. There is a skill in making it look as if a pie has been slammed into a face when it has in fact been applied rather gently - a really sloppy pie helps.
Real pastry crusts are a potential hazard as a sliver of crust could enter someone's eye. There are news reports that the late comic magician Paul Daniels sustained such an injury during a kids TV show when a pizza (rather than a pie) was thrown into his face. I'm not sure how much of that is urban myth.
Best avoid foil pie trays too.
There are obvious slip hazards from sloppy mess on the floor, some kind of footwear even just socks helps with that. Anything but bare feet which are very slippery when combined with mess. It's also best to wipe feet clean before showering, for the same reason.
Finally, if you are going to use tinned food....don't apply it from the original containers as there will be sharp edges.

This reminds me; long dresses (especially wedding dresses) can wrap and tangle in your legs if you're swimming/bathing. I've actually had this happen too- washing off in a lake after wearing a wedding dress in the mud pit and yeah, it'll tangle and fully bind in your legs. A real problem if you're out of depth and can't put your feet down. (I'm a very strong swimmer, and would have seriously struggled to get back into shallow water had I not slipped on a pair of inflatable armbands before I got in)
My now wife took a pretty decent slip and fall in the shower while covered in slime. We laughed after but for that moment before she laughed I was terrified.

Slipping in the shower is definitely a problem. I slipped on a load of mess in the shower and foot slid under the shower screen overhang. Thought I got away with a little bit of a cut & being sore but after an hour or so it bruised & started to swell up. Couldn't get any shoes or trainers on
Another story I recall from a 70s/80s kids show was when they played a game where they pied and throwed water at parents. One mum inhaled as she was pied and swallowed a lot of shaving foam and coughed repeatedly through the game soliciting no sympathy whatsoever from the host. The pie wielding fiend appeared to find a kind side and was seen to try to comfort the victim. After the scene the mum was still in some discomfort and an antihistamine tablet had to be given to her. These were the early 80s after all - health and safety wasn't a thing, even in TV land...
And one time I flew out of Candys Gunge tank while masturbating like 6 full ft! Haha! Slips are def the easiest way to be injured! I've def had some painful pies but nothing compared to slips!

Ouch! Also...Maria! Great to hear from you around here again!

I'm not really "back". So no one get too jazzed! Just catching up with some people and looking around. Boy have I missed some shit!! That we certainly won't discuss! Wowza! Ha!

I have surprisingly few WAM injuries, given the amount of sploshing I've done.
One full on bathtub slip
One cutting my finger on a can
Almost choking to death on a foam pie stuck to my face while I was in bondage and couldn't do anything about it (keep hands free if using foam pies, people!)
I have longer term ones, like traction alopecia from so much heavy stuff poured over my head, and I am pretty sure rubbing and clearing my eyes so much has contributed to my binocular vision disorder - these are things you only have to consider if messy for 2 hours at a time 4 times a week though. it took a long time of that constant craziness for it to become a problem
The weirdest one was entirely my own stupid fault (like it wasn't required for wam at all) and it affected Maria as well. I put lemon oil in my mud pool to make it smell nicer, not realising that lemon essential oil is considered 'hot' and needs to be diluted with a carrier oil otherwise it will burn you
I splatted face first into a pool of it and burned my face and boobs. Maria burned her arm. I still have scars!
We tried to wash it off, still not realising at that point that we should have immediately used oil to dilute and disperse it.
If hypothermia is an injury, then that too. I insisted on filming a mud scene in a -2c windchill with sleet falling on and off. I was too excited to cancel it. I was determined.
I had blue lips, uncontrollable shaking and was hallucinating and texting nonsense to people after 40 minutes. It was supposed to be an hour shoot but Mike noticed I wasn't right and called time and got me out and we went and got hot chocolate. It then took forever to warm up in the shower back at his place.
Still great fun though, but please don't do it in anything less than 15c air temp with little to no wind!

Arrghhhh! -2? ARRGHHH!!!! We have a rule here, no mud or outdoor water shoots unless the air temperature is at least 21 degrees. We have occasionally shot in 18 with strong warm sunshine and no wind, but even that was chilly. I can only imagine what you must have gone through! ***hugs***
TBH when I was a teenager, walking a few miles home from a friend's house, at night, in a snowstorm, I took a notion to wade fully clothed in a small lake I was passing, for erotic purposes. I went in waist-deep and had a most awesome squirt. And then had to walk another mile home in drenched jeans and water-filled wellies, in the middle of winter, in a snowstorm. I think that's the coldest I've ever been, fortunately teenage me had awesome circulation. I'm pretty sure if I did that nowadays I'd be in the following day's "random fatality" statistics.
