"UMD 25: Vegas Vacation"

Hey we're going to Vegas again! 
To celebrate UMD's 25th, Messmistress and I will be hanging in Las Vegas starting May 3. Like the other times it's literally just our lo-key vacation and we're letting our friends know in case they need an excuse to come out and meet other wammers. 
Everyone would have to make their own arrangements for travel and lodging, but we'll be staying at the Golden Nugget on Fremont Street from Wednesday, May 3 through Sunday the 7th. There's more info about suggested hotels on the event page. There will be a meet-and-greet down at the Whiskey Licker Bar across from the hotel each night probably at 6pm, and then we'll go wherever the night takes us. Saturday [edit: Friday] we're planning an epic night on the strip and will probably hit a nightclub just like we did last time. As for the daytime I may rent some day beds at the Nugget's pool again with bar service if anybody is interested.
There are no official sploshing events planned or anything, but people usually arrange their own pop-offs. And boy have they popped off! In the past there have been hotel room pie parties, group excursions to muddy fields, private shoots (that we crashed with MyPieRogative as the ring leader), a fully-covered birthday party, soiled hotel hallway carpets, and all kinds of crazy stuff. Messmistress and I always have our own private messy agendas
Trust me, these are memories that last a lifetime.

Alas, won't be able to make this one for a variety of reasons, the biggest being financial, but UMD20 was epic fun with some totally amazing people so anyone who can go, should, you'll have a blast! 
And Las Vegas is just amazing, well worth visiting. in 2018 Friday and I were there for 9 nights and still didn't get to do half the things we'd have liked to do. Will definitely be back one day!

Lake Meade was a mud hot spot. It's what you see in a number of Messy Fun, MPV, Sven (can't remember his store name) etc.
However, the water levels are at an all time historic low, and the lake is like 50% dried up. It may very well be worth scouting out though. I would certainly be game.
If you have time and desire to go, we'll get you to Vegas.

The is almost always mud at Lake Mead but the only mud that is easy to get too right now is full of gravel and shells and you don't want it. The good mud requires the right equipment and knowing where the good mud is. Oh, by the way, I was the one that turned Dave (MPV) on to Lake Mead mud...
We got ourselves an AirBnB with pool that is only 5 minutes from Fremont street. We will have Zoey, Penelope and Brittany staying with us. We may do a live messy show from there if we get enough interest. Kind of like what we did 5 years ago in our room at the Golden Nugget, but this time with more space to move around and more mess being used. Contact us if interested.

If paid to do so, I could possibly look for good mud in advance of May 3rd, however note three important points. First, I was in Las Vegas some years ago on Memorial Day weekend and it was too cold and windy to enjoy being out in the mud so even if I found good mud, that doesn't mean that you would get any value out of my having done so...
Second, you might well need a boat to access the mud. I have a two person kayak but obviously, that doesn't work for more than two of us. And, after a few minutes of paddling, you'll probably agree that you needed a boat instead...
Third, and this is the biggest concern, May and June are the worst months for finding mud as the Spring runoff usually raises the lake level a foot or two flooding most of the mudflats that you see in the various Lake Mead MPV videos. That means that the best place to find mud will be at the delta of the Colorado River as it enters the lake and that is 125 miles from Las Vegas...
Second, you might well need a boat to access the mud. I have a two person kayak but obviously, that doesn't work for more than two of us. And, after a few minutes of paddling, you'll probably agree that you needed a boat instead...

Hey, one last reminder for all US citizens. Unless something has changed and I'm unawares, the bullshit REAL ID law goes into effect during this trip. You're going to need either a REAL ID version of your driver's license or a passport to board even DOMESTIC flights.
Look into that shit now, so you don't get stranded and unable to fly!

If you like to sleep early, be careful where you stay from a noise POV. We were on the 28th floor of The D on Freemont Street and the music from the country and western festival going on out back, and the stages of the Freemont Street Experience itself, were enough to rattle the window frames up till abut 3am each night. Wasn't a problem for Friday and I but for anyone who's bothered by noise it could be.
