Hello all, After some support (and a lot of off-topic conversation) on my last thread, me and a group of 4 others have formed a committee and decided on the nominees for the "UMD Awards". There are a total of 9 categories with the number of nominees ranging from 6 to 10 in each category. The list is below with the criteria for each one. The voting for this is open until January 9th, where I will end it after one full week. To vote, click the link below and submit who/what you think is the best option for each category. NOTE: There are quite a bit of videos on the voting form, so you should probably let your computer sit for a couple minutes to let them all load before you get started. If you disagree with any of the categories/nominees, tough luck. You had your opportunity for a while to suggest your ideas. I will announce the winners of the votes on January 10th. Happy Voting! -Jonathan https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/722T2TD ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ CATEGORIES 1. BEST CELEBRITY WAM MOMENT Criteria: any video of a celebrity getting messy.
2. BEST MAINSTREAM WAM Criteria: a moment that involved WAM that occurred on a mainstream program.
3. BEST MESSY SHOW Criteria: any mainstream show that had WAM on it at least a few times over the past year.
4. BEST MESSY ICE BUCKET CHALLENGE Criteria: any video posted on the "Ice Bucket Challenge" where the person got covered in something messy instead of ice water.
5. BEST "I'd Do Anything for Joe" Video Criteria/Explanation: This past year, a lady with cancer named Joe Hendy was denied payment for a recommended treatment that could help her a lot. In order to raise money, a fund has been set up (Joe's Fund) to collect donations from people. A YouTube channel was created to help with this. On this channel, women from all over take a bucket full of something over their head to show their support for this wonderful woman. It has helped them to raise over £42,000 in a short time. To show our support, vote on who you think was the best at helping them raise money. If you would like to donate to this awesome lady, head over to http://www.pinkwalks.co.uk/joesfund.html
6. BEST YOUTUBE CHANNEL Criteria: any YouTube channel that produces WAM videos. We have excluded the channels that just show previews for their full videos and not actually all their content.
7. BEST UMD NEWCOMER Criteria: any person/studio that came into popularity in 2014 on the UMD. It is OK if these people were doing WAM before 2014, as long as this was the main year they hit their stride.
8. BEST WAM STUDIO Criteria: any studio that produces WAM material to sell to viewers.
9. BEST FEMALE WAM MODEL Criteria: any female model that does WAM regularly.
If you haven't already, you should probably get approval from Messmaster before using "UMD" in any of this. After what happened last time, he may not want his brand associated with any kind of awards event.

You beat me to saying that. Call me a pessimist but I can see this going badly wrong and I don't think I agree with turning WAM into a competitive arena.
Yeah, I think that this could be a very bad idea. The fetish is so diversified with so many sub tastes that even choosing categories can become impossible. I don't remember if it happened last time, but what I can see happening is certain tastes becoming dominant in the categories and making people feel left out. This community has done a lot to help people feel they are not alone, but could make them feel outcasts when the type of things they like don't get any recognition.
Additionally, last time it devolved into a bit of a popularity contests (which awards always are) with the more established popular models pushing out newer amateur ones (and not by any actual doing on their own part, but just by how the voting works out - they are who is actually well known) and cliques formed.
Plus, even though the thing to say is "it is an honor just to be nominated," nobody really feels that - it hurts to not win, and feelings get hurt.
The UMD really works because this is a very supportive friendly place. Introducing competition, even friendly competition, risks damaging that.
I know that you have good intentions here, but this has been tried and worked badly before.
I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the Best Producer of 2014 is whichever one made the most money. All other criteria are far too subjective for a niche porn site with an endless list of sub-niches.
And the winner of "best warning about not doing an end of year award thread" goes to...........Johnny Yen!!! (Music plays)
Ok, so you guys are all correct. Fine. But seriously, I wouldn't call any of these catagorys competitive. I mean come on. I'll win every single one. Even the ones I can't possibly win.
So basically, your all just complaining about me winning everything. That's not very mature, guys!

I vote this my favourite reply ever!!!! I laughed out loud at both bits. It's funny and the unintentional alliteration is bloody genius! It's definitely a new catagory to be added to the endless list of sub-niches that this broadest of fetishes has to offer.... 'women wearing watches when wamming'. Love it
When you have a limitless fetish, don't try boxing it up. We all offer our own unique twists on things, we are all the best at what we do. We are wonderful wammers, sublime sploshers. Let's not divide us by mainstream ideas of popularity contests. Rise above such frivolities and just feel lucky that there is such a wealth of material to be enjoyed! We really are a lucky bunch!!
Just to watch the clusterfuck as it slowly but surely unfurls into a blossom of jealousy, negativity and trolling. Let's not forget allegations of fixing and or cheating in general.
I have been around UMD for years and well remember the original "Awards" i even won 2 categories back then lol, however as much as Chainsaw John tried the whole thing got ugly, very ugly,Personally i dont really like any of those categories as there is much being done and has been done which is not really categorised,
Personally i am dead against it and would not get involved in any voting. :footinmouth:
I have to agree with Jessie......I have no real issue one or another on who does what best! as that is a matter of every individuals perception anyway.....but on the watch subject! I have done this as a custom for a client in 2013 and it was sexy and fun and anyway each to their own.........I love wearing lots of expensive outfts and underwear when wamming so a specific watch/or earrings/or underwear is a lovely idea!!

As if it wasn't competitive enough! haha
It's a nice thought... But I'd hate for anything to get out of hand :/
