So, I posted a pic about banging aliens on a messy topic that involved a comic with Star Wars characters getting messy, and I thought it might make a fun topic.
Do you believe in it? What do you think of the documents and reports released by the Pentagon? Is there life out there, is it a hoax, is it just swamp gas and weather balloons?
Let's hear your thoughts and opinions on the existence of alien life.
Me personally, I believe there is extra terrestrial life, but I don't think most sightings and eyewitness reports are credible in the slightest. Military and commercial pilots seem much more credible in their experiences, but Joe Smith out in the suburbs is probably seeing a drone.
Ward Carroll posted a brand new video, this time about "area 51" ...i was going to re-post his video about the "tic-tacs" seen by navy pilots, but starting with this one for this thread...
ALL learning about ANYTHING is hard tedious painstaking work, if you really care about truth. UFOLOGY, Bigfoot are no different than any other topic. Watching Hollywood movies about them does NOT qualify as either hard work or research.
As my late great workshop-tinkering electrical engineer father (who worked on the communications systems for the Apollo moonlandings) used to say: Learn by doing.
And even if you conclude there's nothing to it, you STILL will have learned a lot, about history, about reality, about how perception works, what drones can + cannot do.
None of my three sources (NUFORC, Paulides, OnlyRealUFOs) is conspiratards spouting their particular brand of conspiracy story or political beliefs or religious beliefs making wholesale slanders/insults/generalizations against the government or public education or science.
This is the ONE issue where so-called "scientists" and self-proclaimed "skeptics" like Neil deGrasse Tyson and Michael Shermer act ENTIRELY unscientifically and UNCRITICALLY by bringing up situations/stories that proved to be nothing extraordinary BUT NOT ADDRESSING the thousands of cases/situations/stories that ARE extraordinary.
But, like I've often repeated on this forum, I DON'T really like defending the Alien Hypothesis or Bigfoot Hypothesis, as I am NOT really an expert, even though I can tell who IS and who isn't, who HAS investigated and who hasn't investigated. I am NOT good at it. But, also, because unfortunately, far too many of those who agree with me about the Alien Hypothesis are obnoxious assholes about a great many, more important political issues and push all sorts of provably false bullshit. Such as against vaccines + Pharmaceutical companies.
I watched Thunderf00t's (annoying) analysis of one of the recent Navy pilot UFO videos. I followed the geometry + math. I have flipped back and forth between agreeing TF that the video is of a bird (incredibly fast) and not. For now, I'm going with super fast bird.
Thunderf00t's video is annoying because of all his stupid unnecessary padding and strawman insulting about those who take the alien hypothesis seriously.

Ok. I watched that. Decent history report about Area 51. Good selection, Ward Carroll. Of course, as Ward Carroll himself says, it has nothing to do with extraterrestrials. But, like I say, there are plenty of interesting + important stories, including bad things US government does, that have nothing to do with ETs or any truly "exotic" technology.

check out ward carroll's "tic tac" youtube... i thought i posted the link on a different thread, but i post it again here...
Always remember: you / I / we have as much right to speak without any doubt about our beliefs about UFOs, to say we believe technologically advanced aliens exist and visit earth (and not just a few alien extraterrestrial bacteria) to our politicians, without giving ONE FUCK or ONE DAMN about proving our point, as politicians and THEIR stupid dumbfuck voters have of spouting THEIR beliefs about their favorite pet history story (what someone or some government is doing), or THEIR beliefs about the "guilt" or "innocence" of some ongoing or past court case, or what some law says about what you may say or do, or THEIR beliefs about gods existing, without worrying ONE FUCK about how much proof and evidence they have for THEIR beliefs.
Now, I would NOT force my beliefs onto mathematicians and scientists, who ARE objectively provably more honest and devoted to proof and truth than anyone in any other human activity or profession, unless I had the same standard of proof + evidence that THEY do.
But to politicians and voters: anything goes.
I wish I could get this point across to this Ward Carroll in this video.
Fleet of UFOs over Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. 20211004
I know nothing about drones. Are police or FAA able to determine the operator of a drone just by intercepting its signal, if they want to? It's not enough to say "drones". If drones, then you got to prove WHO operated them AND that were operating them in this area at this time AND that these UFOs WERE those drones.

I have been censored on THIS platform before. In fact, it felt like i was close to being "canceled" (well, banned at least) from this platform as well. I thought i was being scientific about it, but apparently my contradictory viewpoint was not desired.
I try to be more careful about what i post going forward.
So on that note, i know a guy (he's a wetlook guy as well) that for sure has worked in hollywood, and told me how he edited a movie scene where the car had a california license plate. The movie was set in the middle east, so there was about 5 seconds of a scene where the car is driving away. He was able to edit out the license plate and change it to a more correct middle eastern license plate.
I only watched a few of those UFO videos, and i am rather unhappy that ALL those videos (well, the 2 or 3 that i watched) don't really change anything. if i HAD to chose, i would agree on the existence of alien intelligence (how about that meme that the proof of alien intelligence is that they stay away from us???)
Alternately... if we simply agree that these unidentified flying objects might be next generation aviation developments, or perhaps devices that have been sent backwards through time does not conclusively side either way if alien technology is involved with that?

Bruh, you were posting nonsense about covid-19 and the vaccine. It wasn't about having a contradictory view, it was about misinformation.
MM is very clear about what's allowed here and what isn't. His forum, his rules.
Anyways, back to topic at hand. The files the Pentagon released were interesting, without actually revealing or saying too much. There was something that stood out to me though
"A total of 143 reports gathered since 2004 remain unexplained, the document released by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence said. Of those, 21 reports of unknown phenomena, involving 18 episodes, possibly demonstrate technological capabilities that are unknown to the United States: objects moving without observable propulsion or with rapid acceleration that is believed to be beyond the capabilities of Russia, China or other terrestrial nations."
So, if at least 21 encounters since 2004 possibly demonstrate advanced technology, that leaves us with either the US has capabilities and technology they are not sharing with the majority of the military, a foreign government has technology and engineering capabilities everyone else in the world can only dream of, or extraterrestrial life is observing us. Not sure which is the most concerning.

That's just not how this site operates. We always encourage debate, even if it gets a bit heated. What you were doing was deliberately spreading disinformation on several occasions, most recently about Covid, and yes that can get you "canceled" from this site. Unpopular views are welcome, but not when you are being disingenuous.
Here is mankind's very earliest baby steps at attempting to distort spacetime. This video is from 2014, so 7 years old. Dr Harold "Sonny" White: Eagleworks Laboratories: Advanced Propulsion
Call me "naive", but, just asserting that human beings have governments that have ultra-top secret laboratories and places and military bases with loads of security around does NOT imply that they have figured out all the engineering problems that stand in our way between where we are now and all our hoped-for techno-dreams.
Yes: humans ARE very good at imprisoning people, animals, projects. That ain't hard. Just tons of concrete and plenty of guns.
But ACTUALLY solving hard engineering problems: No. NEVER take that for granted.
My life fantasy is for some super secret ultra-ultra-ultra government agency (accountable to nobody, like Mr Nobody in the Fast & Furious movies) to call me up and whisk me away to work on super-cool projects, like advanced propulsion, age-reversal, death-reversal, for some decent pay, but the LIFE-WORK EXPERIENCE of it, as well.

i would INSIST i was NEVER disingenuous, but i don't think i would succeed to change anyone's mind?
as i recall, i was asking for ANYONE to give the "magnet challenge" a try...
Boom.
Censored.
but you know what, don't worry... my national guard unit is giving covid shots THIS month, so i will have ALL the experimental data i desire on that...
Your house, your rules. i would SWEAR you've let others get away with worse, but do i REALLY care?
no.
and then, to return to the main topic at hand, i dare say the "tic tac" is a propulsion/transport vehicle from the FUTURE! And i've actually got a unique time traveling theory that someday MIGHT be published. Will post links here when its ready...
Messmaster said: And if you propagate that disinformation again, I'm banning your account and your IP.
a question is not disinformation.
Unless you consider it a crime to ask a question?
The way i looked at it, i asked the question.
People either try it, and say "no, nothing happened" or "yes, it did happen"
and so within THIS community we have our own answer. Although YOU don't even want me to ASK the question.
how is that disinformation?
I apologize.
Tonight, i've been drinking a little bit. Not that i'm asking for a pass. Not at all. Just that it gives me a tiny bit of liquid courage... or something...
ncgreg231Lc2 said: a question is not disinformation.
It is when it's not genuine. The old rhetorical question routine is one of the most insidious ways to try and seed people with FUD. Nobody here falls for the fake innocence anymore.

Before you post a challenge, make sure it's really something.
Your skin makes oils which, under the right circumstances, can allow small things to stick to you. No vaccination required.
This isn't new, and it's not particularly special. Folks have been claiming to have been magnetic for a really long time. Way before the Covid vaccine.
piboiva said: Your skin makes oils which, under the right circumstances, can allow small things to stick to you. No vaccination required.
Of course he already knows this. Don't let the open-minded / naive schtick fool you. He'll draw you in and waste your time by playing devil's advocate on a nonsense position.
piboiva said: Before you post a challenge, make sure it's really something.
Yes, i watched that whole video, and everything she said made perfect sense (and was also entertaining enough) as well as a similar video that someone else (or maybe it was you?) linked to earlier - where a tiny amount of lotion was used for the same purposes.
One part that bothers me is how there is so much strong insistence that no action should be taken beyond watching the videos. This is more of a "do as you are told" observation. And then the punishment that shall follow disobedience?

It's not do as you're told, it's stop spreading conspiracy theory garbage about a pandemic that's killed millions of people, and thanks to that constant barrage of nonsense it's lead to others not getting a life saving vaccine. Nonsense, like the vaccine making you magnetic. We don't need to try it, just to be sure, as you insist we do, because you claim to be asking an innocent question. You know why? We have a basic understanding of the scientific principles of cohesion and adhesion. It's getting really old seeing you post the same trash, and pretend you're some victim of censorship, for asking innocent, valid questions.

If there is ANYONE here who would take their vaccine advice from comments posted here on this website, i would have to shake my head at that...
VegasWam said: We don't need to try it, just to be sure, as you insist we do, because you claim to be asking an innocent question. You know why? We have a basic understanding of the scientific principles of cohesion and adhesion.
ESPECIALLY with that basic understanding of the scientific principles, that was EXACTLY the reason i came HERE to ask the question... we have this one sub-category for discussing topics outside of WAM. It would not have been hard for ANYONE to humor me and honestly see if similar conditions would turn out yes or no. Or just ignore the request altogether...
and maybe not so much anymore now because most everyone willing to be vaccinated has already received it. As well as everyone else who refuse the vaccine probably never will.. except for a large number people who will be receiving their first vaccine dose this month, although i think i will wait until dose #2 to see if anyone wants to participate in this unofficial experiment of mine...
i NEVER insisted that ANYONE had to do anything they didn't want to do. Do you realize how ridiculous that sounds? i * WAS * genuinely curious if anyone would be willing to give it a try, and it has been quite surprising (and amusing) at how much flaming has been sent my way because i don't meekly tuck my tail between my legs and bow down to the peer pressure of your superior expert scientific understandings...
VegasWam said: It's getting really old seeing you post the same trash, and pretend you're some victim of censorship, for asking innocent, valid questions.
i was thinking maybe only one person would reply back and say: I gave it a try, nothing happened. And i would have been happy enough with that. Instead, i got flamed, censored and/or both. That was surprising to me, mainly because so much has been said here about being tolerant. But there seems to be ZERO tolerance for anything that questions the approved narrative...

This is easily Googleable nonsense and you're smart enough to know it's nonsense. Posing the question when you know it has been debunked long ago is just trolling. It instills fear and doubt into the people who don't know better, and they end up making bad decisions because of people like you. Normally it's just annoying but with this topic it is deadly, and I refuse to have you use this site to play this game.

THANK YOU, MM!
Now can we get back to the discussion at hand, and a very important part of it...do you think any aliens are hot, and will they be down to hookup?
VegasWam said: Now can we get back to the discussion at hand, and a very important part of it...do you think any aliens are hot, and will they be down to hookup?
I think science fiction and most importantly Star Trek have long established that aliens are hot and and generally naive about earth sex. As an adolescent this gave me hope that I would someday score with such a creature if I kept looking. I especially recall Margurite Chapman's mini-skirted legs holding my attention. All I had to do was get to Mars...
With age I am now much more aware that going to Mars for sex was ridiculous. It's obvious that aliens will have to come here if we're going to exchange a carnal "howdy". Kirk scored regularly but I figured my role would be the genial Southerner who would charm the ladies like Doctor McCoy. All the guys on that show did well with alien babes except for George Takei. I figured it was because he was short.
Is there really life out there? It would be naive to think we're all alone. Are they visiting us regularly in mysterious, poorly photographed, unmarked, space ships that nobody can ever prove anything about? No. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence and even the most basic stuff just isn't there. We're pointing to mysterious lights with alternative explanations and treating them like cavemen did the stars. When a flying saucer lands on the White House lawn and Julie Newmar strides out, I'm there. Until then we just keep looking and maybe someday we'll get a radio signal from a civilization that died millions of years ago.
