As Hurley and the other pie gurus know, the only Carol Burnett Show episodes we have all seen on tv in the last 45 years have been the shows from Season 6 to 11, with seasons 1 thru 5 never been aired in syndication. Season 1 thru 5 have been classified as "the lost episodes" when they are not actually lost -- all the master tapes for those shows (i.e. the first 134 episodes) are held in archives and not re-aired or sold into syndication. In recent years Time Life have acquired the DVD rights to release some episodes (personally selected by Carol Burnett) but all of those DVD box set releases of so called "lost episodes" fall way short of a full release of those missing 134 episodes. DVD box sets sold on Time Life and Amazon only release 12 or 21 selected lost episodes and the so-called "Ultimate Lost Episode DVD collection" by Time Life only has 48 episodes (only a third of the 134 episodes made in seasons 1 thru 5).
It is a mess, because nowhere can we get the full collection of episodes from seasons 1 thru 5, and there are several known slapstick wet and messy sketches among those episodes.
Last night I happened to be browse thru my Amazon Prime streaming channels (my wife orders so much stuff from Amazon the free shipping with Amazon Prime is an unbeatable offer...so I ended up getting Amazon Prime streaming)....and I see that Amazon Prime is streaming "some" of those lost episodes. The bad news is, they are only streaming 13 lost episodes, but the good news is that on one of them I found an pie sandwich scene with Vicki Lawrence I had not seen before.
It is listed as "Lost Episode #10" on Amazon Prime
Great find, thank you for sharing! Loved Carol Burnett but my only experience with her work was from the 1982 "Annie" movie where she played the evil orphanage owner/manager Mrs. Hennigan. I never saw one episode from her variety show, but this is great stuff. She is a legend!
Nice catch.... The Carol Burnett show is one of the cornerstones of TV comedy, but it's a bit lacking in terms of female messy scenes. (There was a "stewardess gets pied" clip, and either Carol or Vicki pied in a blonde wig, but I don't recall anything else.)
Harvey Korman tended to get the worst of it more often than not. If you're a fan of male WAM he gets destroyed in quite a few scenes. (Along with Blazing Saddles and a Herbie the Love Bug movie, among others...)
Actually, the irony is that there were far more pies and messy foodfight scenes on the Mexican version of The Carol Burnett Show. The Mexican version was a blatant copy of The Carol Burnett Show and starred a much better looking Anabel Ferreria as the Mexican Carol Burnett. They copied many of the same sketches verbatim but also had way more pie fight scenes as well.
The Mexican version ran from 1988 to 1995 and they even had a Mexican copycat sidekick for Vicki Lawrence as well. They made well over 120 x 30 minute episodes and I was able to capture a few of the early 90's shows from my C band satellite dish, so I captured several pie fight scenes from this show, which was called "Show de Anabel". Only a few episodes can be found on Youtube today, so hopefully they will re air that series some day on the Mexican networks, because they did a much better job with their pie fights.

Nitpick: the actor who gets splattered with Irish coffee in "The Love Bug" is David Tomlinson (aka Mr. Banks from "Mary Poppins").
(...and now I want to see a remake of the restaurant scene from "Herbie Rides Again" where Hawk's lawyers are all played by attractive women.)

Along with the scene Mark just described in his original post, I think all three female pies in the face were to Vicki Lawrence (the scene with the blonde wig has Carol as Nora Desmond pieing Vicki as a Swedish bombshell). Which is fine since, of the two, Vicki was better looking. Weird though that I can' t recall a pie scene from the show where Carol gets it.

Sorry, not the original Love Bug movie. One of the shitty sequels. (Not that the original wasn't shitty.) Cloris Leachman is in it too? Harvey takes a giant cake head on, complete and total coverage. It's one of those objectively "that hit was amazing" coupled with a "why has there NEVER been a female cake scene this good in the history of mainstream scenes??"
On the subject of Carol Burnett, I always liked this sketch from a tv special with Julie Andrews. Julie doesn't get much of the mess but the chemistry between the two is on point. https://youtu.be/wO6R4RxnSlw
Just a reminder, another of the pie fight scenes from those "lost" Carol Burnett seasons 1 to 5 is the pie fight between Carol and Debbie Reynolds. So far, nobody we know has managed to get a full copy of this pie fight. The only thing I have is some screencaps I once made from a 10 second extract that was once posted online.
Since that time we now know that this pie scene DOES exist on Time Life's Ultimate Lost Epiodes DVD series, but that Time Life set is priced way too high at $199.90. I would not mind buying it if was truly the "ultimate" lost episodes collection....but that is a crock because they only have 48 episodes out of the 123 episodes that was made in Seasons 1 thru 5. That's not "ultimate" -- I call that "partial". If you recall, we had the same false advertising when they released the "Ultimate" dvd collection of the Captain and Tennille show....which turned out to be only 60% of the epsiodes aired, and 40% were not included....which is wherein lies the long lost Charo pie scene.
Sadly Amazon Prime are only streaming 13 of those lost episodes....hopefully they will stream more episodes in the future.
If anybody manages to get the full pie fight scene between Carol and Debbie let us know, cos all I have is a 10 second extract.....
It's not surprising that Julie Andrews is so good in that scene: She married WAM-master Blake Edwards ("Great Race" and the Pink Panther movies) in 1969.

Ah, I guess I'm a pie fan first and a collector a distant second. I'm all for tracking down lost scenes but I want them to be good as well. If they don't hold up, it's a letdown for me. But I "get it" to a certain extent.... I REALLY wanted the Sesame Street "Surprise" scene to surface, as I had a vague recollection of watching it as a kid, so the nostalgia was strong. But in the back of my mind I also remembered that it felt disappointing, even as a kid. I'm glad the scene finally surfaced but it's definitely a big dud if you're looking for any kind of decent female pies.
Of the lost scenes you list, I suspect the Sandy Duncan and Florence Henderson ones will be worth it, only since their other mainstream pieings were solid. Supposedly the Charo pie from C&T is a letdown (this comes from someone who remembers seeing it on original broadcast). Same person says the Annette Funicello pie from a different show (not on your list) is far better.
I've seen one of the Cathy Baker "Hee Haw" scenes. It was cute. Nothing amazing. The Joan Rivers pieing has been on YouTube for almost a decade (unless you're thinking of a different one). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yWmJbmOtILY
All of the items on my "lost items pie list" are totally unknown to me personally. I never saw any of these items and the data all came from Hurley and RS who asked me to look for them. I was not even living in the USA when these items first aired -- I was still living in the UK and Asia....so I never saw these items firsthand. I just added them to my list at Hurley's request.
My personal "most wanted" list is a much longer list of long lost wetlook items....these are items I have mostly seen decades ago, The pie list is merely some extra items supplied by Hurley and RS.
I agree with you....when we find some lost items, they turn out to be not as good as we had hoped for. In many cases our "memories" of a scene get exaggerated if we have not seen it for 40 years, and when we find it, it turns out to be not as good as we remembered. Bear in mind that our tastes have changed over the decades as well ... i.e. 40 years ago even a mild wam scene was considered to be awesome, but since then we have hundreds of wam producers making scenes so good today that the vintage tv scenes seem lame by comparison today. For example, a mere spatter of pie on the face was considered to be awesome in the 1970's....but with a plethora of pie producers today, anything that is not total facial and head coverage would seem to be lame by 2019 standards.
But whether it is total coverage or not, I would still like to see the pie fight between Mary Hart and Maria Shriver.
It is something, whether it's funny or sad, how so often these lost scenes pop up and are so incredibly tame by today's standards. Makes me wonder how the scenes like the Great Race, which hold up perfectly even in 2019, were received back in the day. Here you had a gorgeous A-class movie starlet being completely destroyed.
Speaking of Lost Scenes, anyone have a video copy of the couple of Jackie Gleason show pie fights? There was some skit with him playing a sappy simpleton that always ended up in pie fights. I've only seen one, but apparently it was done at least one other time.
Jackie starts with some well dressed Southern brunette, I think he's courting her, then I believe Art Carney is playing a cop or something, there is a pie fight, the girl takes a good hit.
Been looking for that for awhile, I think it was on one of Hurley's old clip tapes too.

Not sure how it was received in the day (before I was alive), but back when mainstream cliptapes were still a big deal in this community, I had the Great Race on about 40 different VHS comps. (No exaggeration.)
For a while there, I think it was a rule that every single WAMTEC messy tape had to include the clip from either The Great Race or Tommy.
Of all the Carol Burnett pie clips described in this thread, the only one that sounds interesting to me is the one Rich describes of Vicki Lawrence as a Swedish bombshell getting it. Carol getting pied doesnt do a thing for me, nor do the Vicki scenes currently out there. However a young Vicki done up and dressed up as a Swedish sexpot taking a nice pie sounds pretty interesting.
I hope that one will be among those on a future "lost" episode release.

The reason that Vicki Lawrence always looked more attractive than Carol is because Vicki is 16 years young than Carol. When Carol hired Vicky in 1967 Vicky was only 18 years old while Carol was 34, as seen in this pic. It is hard to tell them apart because Vicky was hired on the basis of her being able to look like a younger version of Carol. I guess that is a testament to how secure Carol felt about her talents, that she was not afraid to hire a younger and more attractive lookalike sidekick.
Ironically Lucille Ball was the opposite, and was so insecure about her role on I Love Lucy, and was afraid of being overshadowed by the looks of former showgirl Vivian Vance....so Lucy had a clause inserted into Vivian's contract that mandated that Vivian put on weight and wear frumpy clothes and had a hairstyle designed to make her look older than she was. Lucy dumbed down Vivian's appearance in order that she would not be overshadowed by Vivian on the show.

It showed up on a couple cliptapes years ago, maybe a Hurley one and a WAMTEC one. Can't quite remember. My recollection is the scene was only OK. Vicki is basically wearing an obvious blonde wig and gets a shaving cream pie that's obviously shaving cream.
(Based on the rules of the UMD, both of these things are automatic deal-breakers for 90% of the commentators here. )
Not to belabor the point, but every quality hit I've ever seen from the CB Show is delivered to Harvey Korman. With him, they used real pies and real cakes with excellent coverage, not half-assing it like everyone else. I suspect him being more agreeable with getting messy than the rest of the cast played a big part.
There's another pie scene from the Carol Burnett Show that has not been mentioned here. It's a big musical number, maybe dedicated to the Roaring 20s or silent movies or something along those lines. At one point there is a period-costumed chorus line of 8 to 10 people. Half of them were men and half were women. None of the stars of the show were in this chorus line (they may have had more elaborate individual roles within this number but I can't recall). Anyway, at one point in this elaborate song-and-dance number, they go down the line, each member of the line pieing the person to their right.
I saw this on TV when I was a kid, no idea what season of the show it would've been or if it was a syndicated version of the show or not. I'm sure that if we located the clip today, most and maybe all of the hits would be disappointing from our fetishist perspective, but I remember being quite happy to see it back then, as pie scenes were pretty hard to come by at that point.

The show you mention is not among the lost episodes, but has been widely available for years....i.e. the skit you mention is the one with William Conrad as guest star in a Keystone Cops parody. This item has been discussed and posted several times...so no need to post that scene, it is commonly available.
Likewise the other 2 Vicki Lawrence scenes that were mentioned (the Swedish movie star scene and the Flight Attendant scene) are not lost episodes and have been available for years ... caps below ....

In fairness Mark, the Joan Rivers clip on your "Lost Episodes" list has been available on YouTube for close to a decade now too, so it gets confusing to know what's truly "lost" and what isn't. Especially if a "found" clip isn't on YouTube but only on a Hurley compilation that isn't easy to get now. (Part of the reason I've just thrown up random Hurley excerpts on YT to help folks out.)

After seeing the pics from Mark, I can confirm my recollection was 100% correct.
Could the "lost" pie fight from the 1970's Price Is Right that was listed here possibly be the one where the models are keystone kops or that just yet another one?

Could be - I don't know know. The items on my list were not my sightings, but were passed to me by Hurley and RS and their sightings. In 1976 when this happened I was living in the UK so I never saw those American gameshows. Only Hurley and RS knows whether this is what they saw, and Hurley disappeared 15 years ago and I have not heard from RS in 12 years. Rich would know more about 70's American TV than I do.
