Don't like nudity at all. Everyday clothing is my favourite. Adds to the humour of the situation. Nudity makes it almost purely sexual rather than comedic.
I understand this criticism (I used to question this waste too, in the past). However, let's put things into perspective:
The World wastes 2.5 billion tons of food each year. Americans (who lead the pack, as usual) waste approximately 60 million tons (or 30 - 40% of our food supply, per year; USDA estimate). That's about 1250 calories per person, per day. It's value is $240 billion (USD).
Now, a good deal of this waste is intentional (farmers will let grain, produce, rot in the fields because storage costs are too high, and sometimes to match fluctuating demand for foods, such as during the recent pandemic, where 75% of the wholesale food market vanished, as restaurants closed down). As much as 10% of the milk produced in the US got dumped during the pandemic.
But a great deal of our annual food waste is 'unintentional' in that our meal servings (restaurants, commercial kitchens) are excessive (in calories, and in food weight/volume). Even with home-cooked meals, we waste food (even though many cities have food compost collection services).
The convention / conference industry wastes an enormous amount of food routinely in that they must prepare 2 to 3 meals each day for many hundreds or a couple thousand of 'conventioneers' -- many of whom do not show up to eat their meal (I used to work as a food server at a convention center). Most of this food gets tossed (one time, my fellow servers and I were able to take home backpacks full of t-bone steaks that were cooked but not served; about 500 + steaks, if I recall).
Anyways, the point is that, we in the US waste an enormous amount of food just in the normal course of living and working. Only a tiny, tiny, tiny percentage of this waste is from people engaging in 'food wam' (note: even 'non-dairy' whipped cream products are made from vegetable oils and soy products that must be grown first).
So, while concern for food waste in wam is laudable -- and we all have to do our part to reduce food waste in general -- from the perspective of our mass-consumer society, wam food waste is minuscule...simply because those who indulge regularly in wam fetishism or erotic play -- and aren't we always calling wam a 'niche' fetish'? -- are a tiny minority...you can make a bigger difference (if you truly care) by reducing edible food waste in your home meals, at work, dining out, or in our schools.
I wouldn't sweat the wam waste (but maybe cut back on the eggs/custard, milk/cream, and chocolate sauce, a tad). And definitely the dog food.
Agree 100%. There is no shortage of food, but there is an inequitable distribution of it. I make regular and generous donations to my local food bank. The things I choose to get messy with are industrially created products that nobody should be eating anyway. Gallons of hfcs fake maple syrup, cool whip, fake chocolate syrup, great! I don't use honey to wam with because, the bees just worked too damn hard to make it. But a giant bottle of pancake syrup from a factory? All over my suit please.
This isn't necessarily an unpopular opinion but more so a pet peeve and growing concern. Producers... if you're going to stage an oil wrestling match how about actually OILING UP THE GIRLS! I'm seeing a growing trend where Producers are advertising oil wrestling and the participants barely even look like they're wet yet alone oily. How hard is it to get this right? And don't give me cost because even in today's economy buying multiple bottles of body oil, vegetable oil, whatever you use won't remotely hurt your pockets. At this point I'm positive it's due to just laziness, or it's false advertising which is even worse. Stop trying to capitalize on what seems to be a growing trend (oil wrestling is making a comeback!) and either go all in or don't bother. I'm not going to put any studios on blast (yet) and for the record it's nobody that usually posts on these forums. Just search oil wrestling on clips4sale and you'll see what I mean

I totally disagree with you there, I'm tired of seeing cookie cutter, plain looking models. More alt models please.
Don't sweat! I'm on the case!
Inked is sexy
Yes! Tattoos on women are sexy I do hate facial tattoos on women though. They mostly take away from the beauty of the particular female. There are of course exceptions and I'll give credit where credit is due.

Bloody hell.. I didn't need to see this thread today. I'm picking this post to quote, and going to stop reading the rest of the posts as I think literally these opinions are going to hurt me and cause me emotional harm.
I know people might say 'it's an unpopular opinion thread, that's the point' .. but why does that make it ok?
I literally just ordered a bunch of black clothing to wear because I love how the colour looks on me. How do you think it feels to read this thoughtless post? I don't want to wear most of the colours you mention because I post what I want to and what makes me feel good/ confident.
I know it wasn't the original poster's intention to make people feel shit. But it is the result. OBVIOUSLY in this thread, the unpopular opinions will be aimed largely at women because that's what most of the content contains.
I'm taking a break from UMD today and not reading the rest of this thread because I KNOW some dumbass will have started on bigger women and jeez.. i just don't need to see that.
I've been avoiding this thread for a while but it seems like the "unpopular opinions" are quite popular. Reading through the responses I'm not sure I fully understand the purpose of this thread. There are so many producers, models, messes etc out there that if you don't like what one store has released you can just as easily find it on another store. Rather than openly criticising features of models who get messy for our enjoyment or styles/content of scenes why can't we all just vote with our wallets and buy what we like rather than openly stating what we don't which can have much more damaging effects on community members even if posts weren't targeted at them. I really believed as a community we were better than this!

Oh c'mon! Oil wrestling is absolutely not making a comeback. You outa your tree?! We're pathetic! So sad. Totally not worth watching.
Soo many people bitching and moaning. Keep the harmful stuff to yourself, people have issues with their bodies and WAM is their form of acceptance. Im a larger lady and I absolutely hate my body because of hurtful comments, but I wore tight clothing to get messy and felt amazing. Adding to this in hopes that it can become more lighthearted later and not dragging people down.
Now my Opinions
I don't like my tats on show, but I love other people's ink and art.
I sort of agree with the food waste parts but I also see it as it's likely to be left on shelves and go to landfill. My only hard no would be Eggs, there's been shortages and I don't really want to contribute. Meats not my thing, dog food is weird. I'd rather feed it to a dog.
Nakedness. Meh. Asexual, not my thing but can easily not watch it, I do but more substance research
My main issue is hair. Tied up is fine, id like to see it messy but if it's not the persons preference fine. Down is fine too, It's just slightly annoying when the hair gets in the way of the face and stays there. Slick it back after.
Watching Men getting messed, not really for me, prefer to mess them myself. Don't mind women so I can imagine it's me.
Lingerie... I LOVE BLACK BRAS AND PANTIES. Easily obtainable, so many diff styles and materials. Other colours are fine. But I'd always drift towards dark colours.
Not a fan of scripted stuff but it also gives me ideas for what I could try.
Toys being used. Meh. Seeing it made me finally get some toys of my own and accept them a lot more. If the person wants to use toys, go for it.
LOVE the idea of Restraints, stocks and immobilisation. Adds to the humiliation. But it's got to be consensual.

To be fair to the OP, I think he was really aiming that more at male producers choosing what their models should wear, rather than at women wearing their own clothes, though perhaps my view is skewed because I provide all the clothes (including underwear and shoes) that our people use, so I assume other mess and mud producers do the same. And yes, all of the underwear I buy for my people is black, because it looks good, goes with anything, and is more likely to wash out fully and not to stain through multiple uses.
But I do think some folk have misssed the original point of the thread, which wasn't to be another of the regular "things we don't like" ones, but rather "views that are at odds with the majority of the community." So more things like "I really can't stand pie in the face scenes", or "Mud isn't WAM" (both of which have been mentioned), rather than "I don't like seeing obviously unhappy models" which (I'd hope) is a popular, not unpopular, opinion.
FloraFrench said: I'm taking a break from UMD today and not reading the rest of this thread because I KNOW some dumbass will have started on bigger women and jeez.. i just don't need to see that.
Sadly you're correct, the two worst examples were flagged and MM has responded.
And that raises a general question, who do we actually want to be as a community? An open and welcoming place where anyone who shares this unusual kink of ours, regardless of personal features, is welcomed and accepted, or an old-school man-cave where male gaze rules and women are relegated to be sex objects and decorations, and only even that if they're deemed conventionally pretty enough?
I know which version I'd prefer. But it's down to what each person says, and how they act, that determines how the overall community goes.

Yep, this one pops up in the little DIY, mostly male corner of the WAM scene that I inhabit too. Even if you're out doing stuff and sharing it purely for fun, some commenters have a sort of client mindset as if people should be catering entirely to their whims. That can really kill the fun of sharing for me, and I wasn't doing it for money anyway, so what motivation does that leave?
* Facial coverage does nothing for me. If I can't see the face and the reaction, there's really not much to be gained from the scene. * The subject showing great displeasure at being covered is fine by me (and a potential plus). My favorite scenes are ones in which the person being gunged consents to it, but really doesn't like it. I view WAM as an offshoot of BDSM and definitely am drawn to the sadistic aspects of it. * As a corollary to that, I'm also into semi-permanent punishments like hair cutting (but not head shaving weirdly). Permanent things like tattooing are more of a grey area for me. Some of those Russian night club punishments from years back definitely cross some lines. * As a secondary corollary to that, cold substances garner some amazing reactions. You can be used to getting messy, but no one's ever used to being cold. * Gunge/Slime do absolutely nothing for me. They aren't really considered "mess" in my mind. Perhaps I've just become too used to it over many years. * Pies should cover the length of the hair. Only doing the top is an unfortunate miss. * A pie that *just* covers the hair is preferable. * Anything scripted or showing a fake reaction is a negative. * "Slapstick" style stuff does nothing for me. Sorry Rich, your material is amazing, just not for me (though I wish it was!) * Zooming in is awful. I want to look where *I* want to look. It's not like resolution is an issue, just film a wide shot in 4k and upload. There is a certain producer who does AMAZING swimsuit fillings with great swimsuits and beautiful women, but constantly zooms in on the crotch when I also want to see the face... WAM is all about the emotions of the scene and zooming like that completely removes that element. I still pay for their stuff here and there, but it kills me every time. * Fetish-wear does nothing for me and seems kind of silly to mess. Food doesn't stick to latex, soak through it, or ruin it in any way. A latex catsuit is like a swim cap for your body. * Speaking of swim caps, 100% yes, BUT with the mess INSIDE! If I ever commissioned a custom, this would be the custom. * Goggles are fine by me. Obviously not the bulky lab-style ones, but the small, swimming ones are okay. There's an element of humiliation to wearing them. * Filling loose-fitting clothing like a dress always seems kind of silly to me. Filling tight-fitting clothing like a swimsuit or sports bra is my favorite though.
TheSpecialist said: -A lot of "sexy" costumes just look weird and ugly. Even if WAM videos are for the male gaze, I think a lot of producers would do well to outsource wardrobe opinions to those more familiar with the female form.
Totally agree! I see some stuff and it's like..."Oh man I'd never wear that, it looks ridiculous!"
-Panty filling...kinda pointless. I love clothes filling, but most panty filling beats are like trying to fill a shot glass with a fire hose.
To be fair, I think if you had female anatomy, you'd find it a lot more exciting. The sensation of things against my labia (and then the mess starting to push up into my vagina) is where the fun really starts! It's like foreplay

Agree with this but for different reasons - I couldn't care less about the face, I want to see what's going on down below. But if the producer would just put the camera on a tripod where it can see from top of head to mid-thighs and let the viewers choose where to look, everyone's happy.
A lot of people don't seem to realise, with a few exceptions, the zoom control is indended to be used to frame the shot **before shooting starts**, and should not usually then be zoomed during shooting.
Note though this thread is really meant for things that may be unpopular across the entire commuinty, rather than our individual pet peeves.
deadpool said: This will be QUITE unpopular, but here it goes:
I hate it when the new girls on "Messy Girl" get nude in their first video.
Don't get me wrong -- I love seeing them nude. But... it's their FIRST video. They are aware that this is a fetish, but it's their first time doing this kind of stuff. Maybe their first time should be fully clothed. After the third or fourth time, then they would feel comfortable being topless. After that, fully nude (again, if they're up to it)
I just don't think that every new girl for her site should start off doing a full nude messy session.
Obviously, if they've done fetish videos before, then nudity shouldn't be an issue. But if they're not fetish models, then they shouldn't have to go topless/nude from the start. Let them ease into it.
That's all.
Every first timer is given the option to show as much of themselves as they want. The pay scale is presented to them and more times than not they will go for the higher pay with nudity.

Rick Rubin said something monumental during an interview for his book and one of the things he stated (It's a must read if you are an artist of any sort) is "The audience comes last"
It sounds off putting but the truth is, he is right. When you are producing something that is of your idea and intent, you are going to produce it to the best of your ability. Things of monumental value are not done by people overly concerned of "well are they gonna like this?" (Or in this instance "Is this going to sell?".
To quote Rick "it's like a diary entry. Are you going to care what someone thinks of your diary entry? Of course not"
There is ALWAYS going to be no shortage of people who don't like what you are doing no matter how hard you try. Unless it is for a custom, If you spend your time trying to appease them, you will never get to explore the craft which you chosen.
No recording artist or band goes into song writing and thinks "Well gollie, I hope people like this!". No. They have fans. Not patrons. This isn't a Starbucks. You either like it and buy the CD and T-shirt or you don't.

Zoom can be used during a scene IF implemented properly. It's more than framing a shot but can be used creatively as well. For instance a good SLOW push and pull can enhance an already perfect shot. It can also add dimension and emotion to a well shot scene.
Disclaimer: It takes practice and usually a second camera to really draw out the effect otherwise you are just wasting memory.
Also, utilizing a 2nd camera is a game changer for a number of reasons.
Curious to see if any positive outcome will come up from this topic.. Any one here should by now know WAM has so many niche and sub-niche.. judging others flapping preferences, by saying my flapping preference is so much better!! Wtf?
It's like hey.. I don't enjoy 2 guys rubbing one because I'm not gay.. could you guys stop it? You know I dont like it, it obvious?! Seriously ??! Just enjoy what you enjoy and let the others have their thing and the producers to decide how they do their scene.. There's a big difference in saying I'd like more of (fill with what you like) than saying I hate your stuff, it's plain rude.. maybe it's time this thread is lock?
I reject the notion that food WAM is wasteful. Most of what gets used in WAM is of little nutritional value, or whatever value it might have is offset by fatty, sugar or other content that makes it unsuitable as a staple food. Furthermore, most gunge is made using ingredients such as hydroxyethyl cellulose or xanthan gum, which are foodstuffs. This begs two questions: 1: Where are you drawing the line? Because the idea that "food WAM is bad because waste" suggests that the only ethical forms of WAM are mud or potentially toxic stuff such as paint. 2: Regardless of where you draw the line, are you seriously suggesting that world hunger could be solved by a few kinksters not throwing beans, custard and whipped cream on themselves and/or each other?
Tattoos are hot. So are piercings, though I personally draw the line at gauges.
AI art is fine as a writing aid or a way to create a quick illustration for a story, but to claim it's a replacement for real photos or videos of real women getting messy is absurd. It's also just not as good as human-made art. Also, AI stories are invariably terrible and always will be.
Gunge and slime are the same thing. Even the idea of a difference in context (the general concept of gunge as a forfeit, slime as a reward) is being gradually eroded.
I feel like anything I say about footwear would be construed as an "unpopular" opinion (personally, barefoot is best), but regardless of what your preferences are or what the model happens to be wearing (or not wearing, as the case may be), more producers need to pan down and show some messy feet/shoe/hosiery action.
There are some incredible alternative/Goth/rocker etc. models out there, and there are some sites that have great gunge tanks and other contraptions, but the apparent lack of overlap drives me nuts. Either I'm looking in the wrong places, or I'm just really picky.
Just browsed through all four pages of this thread and.... That was ROUGH.
Are there things I see on the UMD that I dislike? Yes, every single day... from setups to lighting to wardrobe to type of mess to camera angles to sometimes the overall "vibe." But I've been on here a long time, and I've come to understand that my preferences are super particular. Basically "a niche within a niche." And I feel like this applies to almost everyone else on here too.
Also, if you've watched the UMD over the years, it's most definitely "survival of the fittest." If a particular type of WAM is TRULY unpopular, it doesn't survive. I've still got unfortunate memories of the time Fawn and WAMF decided to try "Fish WAM." Back then, the UMD was not really a kind, gentle place.... and posters let them know (in no uncertain terms) that this was a BAD idea. Now, if response had been more positive (both in sales and comments), Fawn might've kept dumping dead fish on models for a long time! But it wasn't, and she didn't. Lesson learned.
Times change, and negativity on a producer's post is now strongly discouraged.... which is definitely for the best. BUT this thread is proof that people still have strong opinions that they've been keeping to themselves... and this absolutely feels like a "purge" of those sentiments. So, perhaps occasional threads like this are necessary? Releasing the pressure before the boiler explodes, and all that. But, as others already mentioned, the best way to make your "unpopular" opinion heard is to vote with your wallet. Producers love positive comments, and likes, and getting WAMmer of The Day and so on. But you know what we like more?? Turning a profit.
I'm fairly sure that everything I do in my videos has been disliked by someone in this thread already. (More than 3 pies a waste?? The horror!!) But as NEP said so eloquently, you gotta be true to yourself. I set a high bar for myself personally, and I know when I clear it.... And that's the best feeling in the world. Popularity is nice, but in the end, I'm really just trying to shoot the kind of content *I* like to see.... And then the rest follows....
Sorry for writing a book. That wasn't the plan. Carry on with the griping!

Thank you for posting what makes you feel good-honestly that's is my true intention as well, I am not a hired hand to be ogled at and while there is a place for that and go them-I love that you have taken a chance and put what makes you unique on here-if you are having fun, we are having fun! Don't stop because of what anyone else thinks-I love seeing what you have!
Not surprised to see this thread has devolved into the gatekeeping behavior that is all too typical for some of the longtime members of this site (in terms of downright attacking producers and women's bodies, tattoos, etc.).
I mainly listed a preference of mine in my earlier comment, one that I haven't seen many people share here, but by no means do I think things outside of what I like most are "wrong" or shouldn't be made. A lot of these comments are coming off like, "All producers should only do what I like and nothing else."
Closeups on body parts, particularly genitalia for longer than like 5 seconds really bore the hell out of me 90% of the time. I wanna see someone's expressions change, watch their eyes flutter and jaw slacken as they taken in the sensations of the scene.
Also, being nonbinary around here feels low key super uncomfortable.
Edit: my first point is basically I like seeing a model in their whole body because I like taking in their full body language, and it's usually easier to tell if that model is actually *into* a scene, which matters for Mr. The closeups I do like are on faces because of the emotional information there.
EDIT 2: Oof, just seeing how the post has devolved and I agree that I wouldn't expect producers to make everything to my spec, and think there are many who make excellent work that aren't made to my personal ideal. To the producers out there reading this thread, I know y'all work hard and make incredible work, and to the models who make it possible, thank you all for doing so! I think that's important to say here.

The fact that there's such a vocal hatred for tattoos (not just here, mind) is exactly why "tattoos are hot" feels like a genuinely unpopular opinion. Especially since it reads like more than just a preference, but outright vitriol.
