Same. All notifications gone bar ones from tonight, and all PMs since 2013 missing. I'm assuming they just need a dB restore. As the outage was unplanned presumably something major broke. Cudos to MM for getting main site back up so fast.

My inbox is suddenly empty now, too.

Since yesterday's outage (perhaps coincidentally) my Inbox and all 234 messages has vanished, along with the ability to create a new Message other than in the forums. Strangely my Sent Items are intact but I still cannot initiate a new message that way. Are they retrievable?

I also noticed my inbox and notifications got zapped even prior to Monday. They're all totally empty

Yeah, my inbox is missing stuff after like 2013 as well.

Look on the bright side! Think of all the incriminating evidence that's gone.

I'm working on the chat still, and yes, sadly inboxes have gone through a time warp effect back to about Monday. If anybody has specific messages from someone that they really need, please contact me privately.

Monday ... in 2013?

So What, we have lost all old messages completely? or will they be back on Monday? I don't understand... Will they come back! cos i've lost everything

I've gotten most of the messages back. Sadly, ones from the past few days are still missing, but I'm working on it and hope to have them back as well.

All my PMs and notifications are back now, so whatever you did has worked for me.

One thing, though - and this doesn't matter, I'm just checking if this is a glitch or new feature - is that my notifications include the text of PMs now, whereas they didn't before.

Yep, my messages and notifications have now returned fully too. Thanks MM, knowing a bit about the fun of running server based systems, I can appreciate the amount of work involved and the speed with which it was done. Really appreciated.

Mine are still all missing!

Numerous messages are still missing, but strangely, they are showing up as notifications instead of messages.

All my messages are still gone, only got the two hat came in this week.
But this isn't the first time umd.net has lost a load of messages for me.

^THIS^ My notifications included my mail box messages that I have had over the past week. However, when I "cleared all notifications" I couldn't get back into my messages box again. Said everything was gone. But I still have a little 1 indicating something is in there.

Messaging appears to be back at the moment. I have been able to both send and receive. Past messages are not back yet, but try and hang in everyone.

As of this writing, my inbox is gone, my sent file is operative, notifications are gone, and the online counter shows 0.

It'll most likely be a messy "splat." Not as straightforward or neat as one might think, but I'm still working on inbox and chat issues. Lots of internal things to be looked after first, sorry to say. Going fast as I can!

Thanks for all the work you are doing behind the scenes. I know that while it might seem frustrating on the surface for us we know that it will be worth the wait as you're only trying to make this awesome place even better. Appreciate everything mate.

I had to rebuild some database manually and change a bunch of code, but I finally got the chat back up. I think!

Don't really care about the chat but I do miss the UMD cat. Have you found him yet? Getting a little worried.

Looks like UMD is no longer working with Firefox browsers. I tried multiple versions on different computers.

The error message is Bad Request

Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand.
Size of a request header field exceeds server limit.

This only started happening after the upgrades. Other browsers seem to work fine.
