I'm going to take a minute to explain why this isn't very subtle at all.
The passer by will see KCA or "Kids Choice Awards" on a sexual fetish site.
Regardless of wanting to see X, Y, or Z celebrity (who is totally of age) getting slimed; Regardless of whether or not you are in fact a pedo, or a (MAP) if you prefer the politically correct term for pedo, this is a KIDS SHOW.
The voracity and zeal with which it is discussed continuously here can lead visitors, billers, lawyers, etc. to easily believe we're all a bunch of fucking pedos.

I completely agree with Jason. I've been working on a new TOS for a while, which is coming soon.
SStuff said: The UMD and Messmaster don't WANT a mainstream forum. So it's not happening.
I never said that. The fact that I'm not adding new forums right now doesn't mean I'm against a mainstream section in principle. In fact, anyone can start a UMD Group for mainstream stuff if they want.
However, the truth is that a separate section anywhere on UMD for non-adult stuff would do nothing about taking it out of the fetish context. So talking about kids' shows there would be equally inappropriate.
SStuff said: and the current TellyGunge one just simply hates the UMD with a fiery passion. (Plus, it's only 5 people talking on and on about slime on UK kids shows.)
> implying that anyone talks about real shows on TellyGunge anymore
I actually like mainstream WAM. I like the fact that's not for porn, and it's fun.
As long as she's legal, who cares?
It's not as if the entire UMD community is going to go all creepo stalker... ok with the exception of RunningRebel, AntXD, and maybe a few others. SIGH...
The point I don't get is all the speculation, discussion and obviously disappointment. Get a life guys. If the impossible happens, enjoy. If not, move on.
It later came out that the site owner (Shane Jensen) was deeply closeted, so he was in denial about a lot more than just his WAM fetish. Very weird.... He was apparently a big deal on YouTube a decade ago (not for his pie forum, just his random videos) and got outed by some folks, and kinda disappeared after that. ANYWAY. That was the last "mainstream" forum I can remember that professed to be completely unrelated to the WAM fetish, so take it as you will.
Man I haven't heard that name in a minute. Always wondered what the deal was with that guy and what happened to him. Thanks for providing closure I didn't know I wanted.
In regards to the KCA Host Announcement and disregarding RunninRebel/YankeeRunner's insane theory that apparently Gal Gadot, Brie Larson and Ronda Rousey are all "GUARANTEED" to be hosting...
My theory is that Kevin Hart was probably going to be announced as host, because him and his production company signed a deal with Nickelodeon not that long ago to produce shows and content with Nick. This is similar to how John Cena was host because he was also executively producing some Nick shows and having voice roles in other programs.
I reckon though after that whole Oscars controversy with Hart that Nick probably didn't go through with it. Wouldn't have a clue about who could be hosting other than Cena for a 3rd time, Koshy herself, or Kenan Thompson since he was announced to host that revived 90s Nick show.
The likely hosts would either be directly involved with Nick themselves (Cena/Koshy/Thompson/Hart) or they'd be involved through some Viacom related entity (E.g. people in movies by Paramount Pictures since they are controlled by the same parent. Also explains why people like Wahlberg and Duhamel were hosting since Transformers was a Paramount production and Cena was also in Bumblebee, the rabbit hole goes deep...)
It'll either be Kevin Hart (as mentioned earlier) or Liza Koshy (new host of Double Dare) Those are the only logical choices. Of those two, the safer bet would be Liza.
I do think Brie Larson will get silly and messy, but in one of the guest segments; she won't host it.
There's another thread about who's going to get it on this year's show, anyway.
Forget the slime element for a moment, if this was a normal host show does anyone else that Nickelodeon is really sexist? Every year it's men do they not deem women good enough to host the show? The only woman I think that's ever hosted was Rosie o donnell.
Ridiculous when you think there are so many talented women presenters out there.
ABCD123456 said: Also, it just hit me, they waited this long to announce the host, and THATS who they pick. I was thinking that with such a long wait, maybe theyre actually getting someone BIG, like RDJ or Chadwick Boseman or Michael B. Jordan or Chris Hemsworth. (And in my pipe-dreams, Gal Gadot or ScarJo)
Whoever it was that said they were gonna go with Kevin Hart before that whole mess happened, i think youre right. They were probably gonna announce him in mid to late January, but then had to change. They then had to scramble, and after a search, found someone desperate and talentless enough to host. Like, come on, this dude was in a meme that was big in like 2015, and his last big song was in 2017, you cant tell me this was their first choice.
I like to imagine it might have been a particularly notable woman for the first time in ages, but she was put off by people like RunninRebel, just so I have an excuse to say https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zd9muK2M36c
DJ Khaled is so irrelevant compared to a few years ago that I basically forgot he existed. I remember he helped host some segment for the KCAs a few years ago at the height of his popularity. His hosting skills are abysmal so it will be worth tuning in just to see how much of a clusterfuck this will be.

I think that's accurate.
It is amazing how much certain folks blow up the KCAs every year, considering it's almost consistently a letdown. And it's not like any decent clips don't immediately show up everywhere the day after. Plus, much better mainstream clips are posted almost constantly, with very little reaction. Is it the need to see an American celebrity get slimed on a kids' show? Is that REALLY the draw?
Absolutely nothing? THE ANIMAL IS BACK! Batista's going to Wrestlemania to beat Triple H! He put a seventy year old man in the hospital! Doesn't sound like nothing to me
I don't know what any of this means. But between non-stop wrestling talk only incidentally related to WAM.... and bitching constantly about a kids' show that gets men more messy than women..... I'm REALLY having flashbacks to Lovingway's Yahoo Group.
SStuff said: Between this and the WWE thread, that's like 110 posts talking about ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.
For reference, posts about actual women getting actually slimed (and pied, and caked) into oblivion don't get 110 responses.
DISCLAIMER: I actually agree that it's pretty insane at this point to go into the KCAs expecting anything other than a sausagefest and/or paedo bait. I always get a few giggles out of the fact that people get so invested in an event that lets them down time after time, just because some years it's a bit less disappointing than others, and at least this year I can get a few more quick giggles out of the fact that a living meme is hosting the show.
However, I think the issue is that once a sliming actually happens, there's not a lot that can be said about it. If it's good, it's good. If it's not, there's not much we can say other than "well, it was for the kids so we can't expect too much". Well, not without becoming RunninRebels or Jake Hammonds ourselves.
If we're bringing producer scenes into that, then you've also got to keep the differences between the tones of the scenes in mind, and that creating something specifically for titillation actively backfires for some people - much as I'm not a fan of the quote, the "Tellygunge has a much better site [than the UMD]. They actually have users that post Wam events from TV and to me that's much better than the 95% porn crap that is displayed here" quote over on TellyGunge sums up that mindset.
Plus, the KCAs are pretty much the only shot each year of seeing an actual A-list celebrity that a lot of people know and have much investment in getting slimed. Not to disparage WAM producers or the makers of other TV shows but it is a bit delusional to expect people to be as excited at the prospect of a non-celeb or someone who is only known to a handful of people getting slimed compared to the Scarlett Johanssons or Jennifer Lawrences of the world.

It kinda sucks, but what can you do?
See I don't get this at all. Sure, A-list people are beautiful but then their skill is acting, you watch a movie with Scarlett Johansson or Jennifer Lawrence in it and you forget who the actor is and see the character they are playing as a real living breathing person - that's a good actor's skill. Or someone like Dancia Patrick who's a motor-racing star.
But when it comes to someone being gunged, does it matter how famous or not they are in some other field, as long as they enjoy getting messy and make it look fun on camera? To me, as long as they're attractive, I really couldn't care if they're a Hollywood megastar, or the girl behind the counter at the fast food joint down the road. And I'd sooner a nobody that really enjoys getting messy and playing in it than an A-lister who's only doing it because their agent has said it'll be good for their public image and visibility.
Genuinely curious, do I think differently to most people on this?

A genuine reaction is a very important feature for me as is the context - so I love quizzes/charity gunging. Where the victim is reluctant but a good sport. Still, A-listers are sometimes so stunningly beautiful that the context almost becomes irrelevant. Like Halle Berry being slimed - I think she was probably acting (she definitely knew what was coming). But it was HALLE BERRY.

Honestly? Yeah, probably.
The whole point of a fantasy is that it's an idealised version of what might happen. For most people, the most attractive people on their radars are going to be celebrities. As such, that's going to be who they're going to fantasise about being in scenarios that provide some kind of sexual thrill for them. In this case, that involves them getting covered in colourful goop.
Just look at most of the WAM fiction coming out these days. Whether or not you'd call them A-listers is debatable, but there's a lot more stuff about celebrities coming out than about just random people. Even the stuff with original characters still use people whom the author presumably would find attractive if the character existed.
You're also overlooking any actual enjoyment that the gungee might be getting even if it is just something they're doing for the publicity. Enjoyment and good PR are not mutually exclusive. Even if it was, the lack of enjoyment is also something that does it for some people.
There are numerous divisions within the WAM community, but the idea of "beautiful famous woman gets gunked" is one that appeals to a lot of them. The term "lowest common denominator" is probably a harsh way of phrasing it, but it seems accurate to me.
