Yeah, but you're also doing the same thing by critiquing his critique of Rich's critique. And I'm critiquing your critique of his critique of Rich's critique Fuck
And im critiquing your critique of Enigma's critique of my critique of Rich's critique.
Critique.
This is REALLY reminding me of the Lovingway Yahoo group now.
I always look forward to the posts leading up to the KCAs, not because I care about the KCAs (I find all award shows* to be boring circlejerking that not even my love of slime could remedy) but because these threads are always so damn entertaining. I find people's nigh obsession with it fascinating and worthy of study.
I think the real issue here is that we all miss our childhood/sexual awakening, and for most of us that involved pre-Spongebob Nickelodeon. Unfortunately, we are all older and more desensitized to mess (I mean, I check a forum every day where it's impossible not to see girls pied and slimed in just the sidebar ads), and we will never truly feel that way again.
Seeing that cute girl get slimed when you were 12? Yes, it was exciting, because you didn't see that on the regular, and also because in the pre-Internet pre-TiVo days you never knew when you would see it, so it was a welcome surprise. But that feeling is not something you will ever feel again, and even then it's amplified by the veil of nostalgia. I'm much happier with the content available now - as well as the freedom I have to get messy with my wife whenever I want - than I ever was with the hard-on I'd get at the crescendo of a Double Dare physical challenge or Slime Time Live sliming.
So I understand why people get so excited about the KCAs, but know that it's nostalgia (and a few celebrity crushes) that drives people here to care about it so much in the face of such a large amount of messy content.
