Well over a decade too late, but I am now slowly updating UMD to be more mobile friendly. Expect a little wonkiness over the coming weeks until I can get the kinks out. I expect to be done sometime this fall. It's pretty time-consuming for me, so I'm sorry for my slowness with flags, inbox messages, and approving content right now.

If I can make a suggestion. Don't "get the kinks out", that's kinda why we're here.

Tonight, committing a bunch of changes I've made over the past few weeks. There will be chaos but I'm still working so go easy on me.

It looks amazing so far. The site is totally transformed: the re-proportion is just spot on for easier reading and button control on a small screen. Great work!

Here are some screenshots, featuring a scene I've just promoted, and the all forums index page. I like how as you scroll a page down, the notification bar with the search box and the messages, notices, and shopping cart icons, remains in place at the top of the screen. This is FireFox on Android on a Samsung S20+.

The mobile app is coming soon, right?

What would be the advantage of that, over just accessing the site on a mobile browser? It'd be at least double the work for MM to code it and then he'd have to keep app and website in step with each other.

Personally I avoid downloading apps at all other than for specialised uses like mobile banking, even for things like train tickets I buy on websites and use the email versions of tickets rather than filling my phone with apps. Is there an advantage to apps over websites? Genuine question, wondering if there's an advantage I'm not aware of.

Given that the way the web and HTML works is by bubblegum and duct tape, I think the idea of apps was to sort of start from scratch. There are just a lot things that a native app is built to do, that you have to hack a bunch of HTML, CSS, and Javascript to replicate poorly on a browser. You just can't replicate the smoothness and consistency of a natively programmed app. The built-in graphical transitions, access to the device's sensors and data, integration with the rest of the OS, and general user experience are almost always better.

The biggest deal back in the day IMO was how apps were interactive two-way experiences where things could just slide around and change on the same screen, rather than loading a whole new page every time you clicked a link. The web is really designed to be "stateless" meaning you load the data once and then drop the connection until it's time for a new page. Apps work more like real software.

Fortunately, the old skool web is still advancing, and regular web sites can do more of the things that only apps could do before. That's good because it would be basically impossible for me to program and maintain apps for all the possible devices out there. This is adult anyway so the app stores probably wouldn't accept us. The latest grid systems allow us to make sites at least responsive enough to stretch properly over any screen size, which for now is my only priority. Maybe the fancy stuff will come later.

Loving the newer UI is very clean, odd for a wet and messy fetish site I know but so far the changes look great keep up the good work. -Miles.

I mean, it IS still a GUI.

So far still getting used to the changes but I am sure that will change soon enough however I did lose my profile tab on top which has moved to underneath the home tab and only lights up yellow slightly as you can see on the pictures I attached. I am using Chrome on an android 10 phone

Awesome also just as a suggestion I think the video page on my phone is just a bit too focused on the big video that is highlighted that some people might miss the other videos being uploaded but that is just a preference thing I guess

I know right. I'm hiding the left nav on mobile sizes, so the video banner just goes to 100% width. Not sure I want to kill the entire thing, but I might get rid of the thumbs that go underneath it. What that make it better you think?

Yes I think the thumbnails are restricting it the most like I definitely don't mind the video there just with the thumbs I can just see 3 other videos

A bit of feedback for you. Everything is much larger than yesterday. The pictures, the print, but the list of threads on each forum page is much smaller. Everything needs scrolling as it doesn't take much to fill a page.

For the record, I am using an iPad.

Another observation MM - POTD is broken. I received a message that one of my pictures was POTD for today but i dont see that hughlighted anywhere on the site anymore. The page for it simply says there are none for today but it says that about yeaterday as well.

Not sure if this is related to the updates to the site but I am unable to upload new photos to my photo albums. I tried multiple times last night and again this morning but they still do not show up. After I click submit, I used to get a page for adding captions - that no longer happens either. Is anybody else noticing this?

I have the same problem. Eventually found a workaround, after you click submit the site says you haven't uploaded any pics - click back, submit again and it seems to work

Not sure if thos has been mentioned but from mobile (android) on a scene page, the right side of the page is cut off including the full price. Ive only noticed it in portrait orientation but i dont think many people are browsing in landscape.

Good point. Let me go make that split apart at the smaller screen sizes so the price slides underneath. I'll get that done soon.
