I wouldn't assume it's a predominately male fetish, at least not as much as people think. It tends to be easier for women to find partners who are open to experimenting (at least that has been the case for me and women I know) plus as other people pointed out a lot of women are put off by online communities like umd. Even if 95% of the men on here are nice and respectful of women the 5% that send people creepy messages and harass women for photos can be enough to drive women away. And to be fair it's probably not even has high as 5% of guys on here who send inappropriate messages. All it takes is one guy to send a message like "Hey I live close to you, lets meet up so I can do (insert graphic sexual acts here) to you" to make a woman feel unsafe.

I think one thing that's worth noting is the conflict at the heart of UMD between it being a community but also a fetish porn sales hub. This, sadly, sounds all too likely to be true. I am sorry women can't easily get by on here without being harassed, propositioned and generally made to feel welcome for all the wrong reasons and I suspect this would be a much better place if women were left to quietly (or noisily) enjoy themselves on here without such unwanted attention.

You see fewer women regularly speaking up around here because there is virtually zero content oriented toward female audiences, few conversations that invite diverse viewpoints, and a lot of dudes who have no chill when dealing with women.
This is not anyone's fault, really I don't believe at all that the community was designed to exclude or that it intentionally does so today, I think it just happened that way. And I don't have an immediate solution other than to make women more visible participants in the community. But we do exist and we want to chat, share ideas, and have videos made for us!!!!

As someone who shared photos here and chatted a lot, woman can handle it until one person goes way too far. Flirting and playing are part of it but don't take it past that IMO.
