Bear in mind that I am only really into wetlook, but I will give my two cents from the perspective of such.

Obviously on the sexual fetish spectrum we are a niche, there are only a finite number of us. By and large this site will only pick up those who speak English, so that narrows it down even more.

Responding to the post about men being more visually-oriented (the forum is visual image based, etc.) as an explanation for why their are more men here than women...I have heard this many times, and while I generally agree with it, it doesn't completely make sense (in terms of participation here)...women spend hours picking out the right clothes, trying them on (used to have a gf who would go through 5 or 6 complete wardrobe changes every morning before she decided on the "right one"....and also on their makeup (depending on where they are going -- club social gathering bar, dinner date, etc.)...now, sure, clothing has a tactile component (of course), the parading in front of the mirror and emphasis on beauty "looks" is undeniably visually-oriented and show that women are concerned with visual imagery... most likely, it is a combination (verses sense isolation, typical with males brains) of both visual and tactile AND context...again, women have to feel comfortable and safe to express their kinkier sides....plus, we live in an age where the internet dominates and sites millions of folks engage in slut/body shaming (as if they were the rightful arbiters of female attractiveness -- more likely they are social retards who've never been with a real woman)...point being: I think it's more complicated when it comes to female participation here (or anywhere)....men are generally (when it comes to sexual matters) very, very simple.
