Well, I shot my first ever scenes today and just wanted to post a brief messgae about it.

Cutting a long story short I shot 3 scenes with 3 absolute legends of WAM

Messy Jessie, Kitten, and My Pierogative (who adopted the character name of Maria)

Photos, previews etc will follow in a different post in a few days, but this is more about thanking all 3 ladies, who were incredibly helpful, and supportive. My skills lie in creativity, writing, music etc. So the practical side of things was always going to be my challenge.

I felt a complete numpty at times, especially when after the second scene, all the plastic sheeting on the walls fell off and I could not get it back on..everytime I fixed one bit, another fell off. It was like a laurel and hardy scene.

But the ladies were brilliant, and between us we improvised an idea for the final skit that was much simpler than my scripted one, meaning it could be done in time.

For many years I kept saying I would try and film scenes, but I don't think I ever really thought I would, as it all seemed so daunting to set up.

And to decide to film 3 girl scenes for my debut..great plan Rev..way to make it tougher still!

Anyway, I realise this is probably not of interest to 99% of people here.

But I just wanted to thank my 3 stars for being so brilliant..

Oh..& the 3 scenes are:

Scene 1:
Maria, the boss of the American branch of Jessie's office, is visiting. But she says everything is better back in the States. When she steps out, Kitten and Jessie decide they should show her the disciplinary procedure. When Marai returns, Jessie and kitten team up to give her the treatment.

Scene 2:

Maria and Jessie think they are doing some cake decorating,on their way to a party..but it turns out the home owner Kitten wants them to do actual decorating, with painting. An argument between Jessie and Maria leads to Jessie being covered in paint. Then Kitten's beautiful cakes get hurled. When Kitten see the carnage, she doesn't mince her words..so Jessie and Maria give her her jsut deserts.

Scene 3: Jessie, Maria and Kitten are glad the shoot is over, no more showering etc. Jessie talks about how lucky the girls are to have filmed with her. Eventually she winds them up with her boasting. Kitten checks that Jessie has no change of clothes, and then she and Maria get Jessie with gunge, pies, and even syrup. Poor Jessie, another shower needed.

Okay..

that's it for now. Going to sleep and let all the worry I had in the build up to this just flood out of me.

Well the scenes sound awesome, and you could have asked for better models. I'm looking forward to seeing the results.

I don't self-wam so this was my first prep for a messy shoot ever so to say steep learning cure doesn't cover it.

And I only finally committed to doing it at the Splunch so things have moved fast since then

I only got the camera on Sunday.

Jessie had to show me how to change the battery!!

Right now I just feel utterly emotionally drained. I would say to anyone thinking of starting to try and do shoots

a) it costs far more than you budget. I made a budget. Then I broke it. Then I passed double it.. (I did buy way too much stuff..there was an open but unused pot of treacle left at the end..oh the humanity!!)

b) if you can afford to, do it anyway

I am so pleased that I did it.

and yes..3 nicer more supportive stars you couldn't wish for.

and IF the results are useable, and IF anyone likes them, I will do more, because I have got the bug now

I sincerely hope there will be scenes to buy as that was the idea..but we are a while away yet:

I have just discovered my relatively new PC doesn't have a memory card slot. WTF is that about? My ancient one did. So now I have to find a way to get the stiff from the card to the PC. and then hope everything I think I shot, I shot.

and then you have to bear in mind I am not a photographer, so it won't be a Messygirl production. I think I have got the doorframe in most of the footage..makes a change from a white chair (I hope I am not overhyping this!)

but my poor camerawork notwithstanding, frankly, if the footage recorded, it will be dynamite.

Maria really went for it on the paint scene and when she painted jessie's cleavage..I haven't seen anything like it before. Amazing.

btw I would really like to help everyone who has been kind enough to give me advice in the run up. Noise, Tony Hill, Dungeon Master 1, Glamourgunge

Every mistake you told me to avoid, I made (I think) ..SORRY! but the advice was all incredibly useful.

I just got home and have to say what an absolute pleasure it was working with all of you!!! I LOVED getting messy with Kitten and Maria, they were lovely and so easy to get on with!! I would do it again no questions asked!!

I can't wait to see the results and I hope that people here will enjoy it too... I am sure you all will because we did a great job!!!

You might just be able to hook the camera to the PC with a USB cable, and read the card that way. Failing that you can pick up a USB card reader for peanuts.

Wow, that sounds awesome and I hope some of the advice helped. Regarding getting the footage to the computer, I'd agree with Cake_Battered, there was probably a USB cable in the package with the camera, if not pop to the nearest Maplins or Jessops, show them the camera, and they will be able to sell you the cable you need. Personally I don't like taking cards in and out of video cameras, had a few die on me doing that (though fortunately not during WAM shoots).

I am SO pleased you enjoyed it. I tried to make it as nice a s possible...wine, tea and coffee on tap..tho no-one would eat a biscuit!!!

I could not have had my house trashed by 3 nicer people. and I really hope we can do it again.

and I am especially pleased that what I was thinking I was recording, I was recording, so all your hard work was not for naught

Congrats on your first shoot, Rev! You certainly picked 3 of the most beautiful, sexiest and nicest ladies to shoot with! :lovestruck:

You may never know just how much that helped things until/unless you shoot sometime with some ladies who aren't easy to get along with!

The scenerios sound wonderful, and the teaser pics are fabulous! All 3 ladies look awesome!

These do look fantastic! Great models, clothes, mess and storylines.

i can tell you this, it doesn't matter if you have a photographer (we dont have one, we have brilliant screen caps, i do believe!) it doesn't matter if you have a backdrop, that stuff honestly just does not matter, if a cat is in the scene (hardy har har) or hell, i have shot with my kitchen behind me!
it honestly does not matter as long as the girls are having fun, the mess is fun, the story line you wanted is played out and honestly you just work with what you got! i have a small apartment that basically belongs to my 5 year old. i just live in it and we have shot some HUGE productions in it!
i think this looks great and what an oppportunity for you. you always write great stuff and i am super happy for you and what a great group of girls to do it with! they are all so rad and sweet and genuinely love this stuff! it is easier to get along with girls like these because you understand how much they love it too and i sure do understand going over budget! i have done it a million times! i tell someone what i am pretty sure the supplies are gonna be and i go over EVERY TIME! i need to start just booking sets while standing in the grocery store! haha!

Sounds like a blast! Congratulations, and great job!

Over the past 2-3 years I've done a lot of sessions/shoots with lots of gorgeous ladies.

Because of that there are very few shoots on UMD that I am jealous of and wish I had been there to see.

Norman: You are right about having helpful friendly stars. Both Kitten and Jessie had some tales of working with models who were unprofessional and/or miserable. Whereas I had 3 consummate professionals, who contributed ideas and support to a debutant director. In return I like to think that I tried to make the shoot relaxed, and fun rather than a boot camp.

Jayce, Meathook and Ariel: Thank-you so much for the kind words about the writing, and the shoots. Lovely feedback from wam legends like yourselves is just amazing (of course you haven't seen the finished clips yet..feel free to revise your positive opinion at that point )

btw I agree with you about teaming up wamstars..I always though Kitten, Mypie and Jessie were amazing..so I thought 'why not put them together?'.
Unbelievably everyone was free..and away we went.

I have to say the Kitten/Jessie dynamic in the office scene was so good I think Kitten will have to become a permanent member of Jessie's office staff, and if you like your 'victim' outraged, you have to see Maria's performance. At one cut point Kitten announced "She's so convincing she's scaring me!" Amazing.

and finally Tony... I wish you had been here too! You could have helped me put the fecking sheeting back up when it collapsed

Seriously, I thought I had balls the way I got into it... but a three girl shoot straight off the top... I'm surprised you can walk around without a wheelbarrow.
