Bing has a resize option for image creations and most of the time I have been doing this it gives one or two subtle Landscape variations, but recently it gives very varied results and a different one every time, anyone else noticed this, its giving me really bad FOMO - Fear of missing out and I'm worried I'm going to become obsessed with what results I might miss out on.
This has been a feature for a while and I don't understand the design decision.
Most web based image generators let you choose the aspect ratio before generating. Bing makes you create a square image and then let's you run the same prompt again to create another image with a different aspect ratio.
It's using a weaker version of Dalle as well, it's nowhere near as good as it was last year.
However, Bing is free. That's about the only selling point it has right now
Something new has come up recently, some of my creations have vanished from the bing page before generating new ones or after generating landscape edits, I have looked online and it looks like it has something to do with bing reverting back after a recent update.
Bing has upped the filters again. Around 1:30am my time today I was running a prompt with great results, 4 images at a time, no issue. Then suddenly I hit the generate button and got 4 very colorful and cheeful images of women laughing in a park. Ran it again, same thing. Ran some other prompts I have been working, all the same. I tweaked a few and started getting what I was prompting, but as the day goes on, even those tweaks are not working. I'm struggling to get any kind of mess at all at this point.
I'm aware that what we are generating is NOT what Open AI or Bing or anybody else was expecting, but the filters are effecting everybody that uses their services. I'm convinced that their free service is costing them too much money, and rather than put it behind a pay wall, they are "taking the moral high ground" and just making it so that nobody wants to use it.
Yeah..... right now it's just a toddler's toy. If it doesn't roll back a bit, it's dead to me. Even simple descriptors to get variation in appearance, completely seperate from any kind of wet or messy content, is filtered now. Nationalities, race, even things like "playful" or "wholesome" will cause the generator to ignore 90% of your prompt and jist give you a generic happy person with friends in the park or something. Ironically, the generic images have poses that if you try to prompt you will either get a prompt block or another generic image lol. So yeah... kinda useless right now.
Several times in the past when they have increased the filters, they have jumped ahead and then taken a few steps back, so things ended up being not quite as bad as they seemed. Maybe this will be the same. But if it stays as is, its mostly garbage for what we have been using it for.
There is absolutely no reason not to be using imageFX instead. You can use the same prompts, it's more relaxed in terms of clothing (bikinis are OK for a start), results are better, you can select a range of aspect ratios, and it's free.
I have actually not had much luck with imagefx. I HAVE used the same prompts and my results were either a really nice image of a woman standing in the setting from my prompt but absolutely no sign of the mess, or if I'm lucky, there is a spot of mess on her cheek almost like she missed her mouth while eating.
I haven't played with it a ton yet, but it has proven to not understand the prompting I use on Dall-E 3 at all. The quality IS much higher, and for the time being the filters are much lower, but I can't produce what I want with it yet.

The problem is most people have spent a year and a half engineering prompts with Dalle/Bing to avoid the censorship. With ImageFX you ask for what you want, be descriptive and specific. That said, ImageFX's filtering is changing. I've seen the filters change over the last week.
