Hi all, I've been wondering for a while if anyone sells their Ai work either here or elsewhere online on either social media or places like Devientart, I have about 6 months worth of work which I have hardly shared any of yet, its mostly been a personal project and an expression that has helped with mental health struggles.
What I like is that peoples work on here all have their own themes and styles depending on likes, image generators and prompt wordings, I think I have achieved some really good results that I want to be seen and enjoyed by others, I just want to be able to earn a little bit from my work as an artist because I create other non umd work as well, I feel this may be one of the only avenues I can utilise to support myself because my mental health is a constant block in the background of my mind.
I know it seems cheeky and wrong to ask this because I know it might be thought that 'well if they're selling their work, why not me' that's why I was curious if anyone else sold their work or if you would purchase others work if you felt it was of quality standard.
If you haver had success with exhibiting Ai work for purchase or have any recommendations about how to go about I appreciate any info or insight.
Haven't tried. Don't plan to. I create what pleases me (wet often formal women getting pied, lots of long gloves, etc.) If I tried to sell my work, I'd have to worry about what the market wanted, not what I want.
There are ways to monetize AI art, although I wouldn't expect to make much off it. There are a lot of Patreon and Deviantart users who use a subscription model. I don't know if they have any subscribers or not, and if they do, they've likely been doing it a while to build up a fanbase.
The thing is, no matter how you try to monetize it, you won't see much income from it for a while, if at all. And if you do go the subscription route, you'll need to post new content regularly. If you lapse, you'll lose subscribers.
I'm not sure there's any real market for individual AI art. I know there are people who can make money off creating other people's ideas, but you have to be really good with prompting and workarounds, and you probably wouldn't be making the kind of images you'd like to be making.
