Yep same problem here lost over 80% of my followers...

I wonder if part of the upgrade was scrubbing duplicate accounts or something of that nature. That would account for why people have lost followers.

Okay status:

The chat is back up... I had to write a new caching mechanism so that the Who's Online list would stop pummeling our DB with thousands of requests per second. That's what was killing our server today (one of the things).

We have new firewalls and security monitors on our servers, and that was causing all kinds of false positives and shutting shit down, but now that's all good.

Email notifications are currently down, but I'll be tweaking our mailing system tomorrow and fixing that.

I got our servers communicating together solidly again (East coast and West cost USA), so file downloads should be quicker since the load is now split.

Things are still a bit wonky and there's all kinds of work still to be done, in all aspects of this site and server, but I appreciate everyone's patience. I don't post a lot, but I'm working constantly day and night. I'm watching this thread, but please message me if you see anything crazy and I'll get on it.

Chat is fine, until you click a link or refresh the page. Then the content doesnt reload. So if i leave one tab open for the chat, and browse in a separate tab then it is fine.

It is confusing people though.

I am now getting multiple duplication of many notifications...

Messages in the chatbox seem to disappear when refreshing or moving to other areas of the site - maybe just me?

Same here, just got inundated with notifications, most are duplicates and from a few days old as well. Also noticed that the views don't seem to be working correctly. I have a post that states no views, although it's had a reply and a love?

Yep. Many, MANY duplications on the notification end over here.

Dupes erased in everybody's notifications, and issue being cleared up

I seem to be getting multiple notifications for same post and comments, I had 203 notifications today lol

Caching handling is one of those unreasonable hard things in IT.

In fact the two hardest things in IT are:
1. Naming things
2. Cache handling
3. Off by one errors

My messages keep saying there's a new message despite no new message.
Not sure if thats part of this but figured I'd mention.

Still seems a problem with the views. I see there are alot of posts are showing no views, however they have replies on them.

I understand the complexity and amount of work that is being done, to get everything back up and running, working smoothly and in harmony.

I seen to be having the same issue as Scroggle that I'm showing as having new messages but when I click my inbox nothing is there so might be a multiple user issue.

Hopefully all these changes will have all the kinks worked out soon and you'll be able to get some rest MM xxx

Sorry to add to your list MM, but I noticed that the love doesn't seem to be working. I've hit the heart icon on a number of posts and in some pictures, but on looking again, it's not registered as there's no tally number next to the heart.

Also, views are still not working, unsure if they are linked.

i know MM you are so busy trying to sort out all these problems and upgrading as well but i have received no notifications since Sunday and no Email notifications since before the weekend just wanted to let you know

The people page seems to just be showing online people for most liked and most likes given. Id clicked my rank number to get to the top contributors page and its a collection of random ranks in no obvious order.

When i clicked to go to people page it shows the similar group of people in tge online as well as the two other categories on left hand side.

I think notifications and inbox might be broken. I can see wam party things on my profile page within the last day, but have gotten no notifications or inboxes in a day now. Might sound a bit weird, but like there are a few ppl i have some back and forth going with....or i thought i did...

Any chance to get back the option for a darker background?

When you are in inbox or notifications look on left side is option for day and night mode. Swaps background to be white or black

I'm noticing that when I search on the term "mud" in the Forums, I'm only getting less than 20 threads that come up, the most recent ones going back to about April 1st. The same thing was happening when searching in video but started working right about a week ago...

Mine says "Day Mode" because I run permanently in Night Mode, if you're in Day Mode it'll say "Night Mode". Click it and the change is set.

You can also set it in your profile, it can either be permanent night, permanent day, or switch with the site time (Philidelphia, USA).
