I noticed on my profile page there is a "site rank". What the hell does that mean and why am I #16? Whatever it is clearly I should be number 1

i think i was 18 one day and then the next day i was like 3 and the next day i was 12....i have no idea how these work.
ariels was 18 one day too and i was like "wambabes at 18?" i figured it depends on your sales at that time? or how many ppl have visited your site? bc i have had a time when my sales were good and i was like site ranked 15....so maybe its based on who visits it? how many hits it gets? i dont know but i know that your site is one of my friendly assists!! so, thank you!!!

But there is some logic to that.....i.e. the famous Hollywood saying is "you are only as good as your latest movie" ....and Lenny and I are more in the recycling business these days.....and we have not actually shot anything new in the last 30 days....so the current list makes sense.

Really surprised Lisa hasn't, that's bizarre. I think it's very hard for a male producer who isn't also a male model to get it, in all the years I've been here and releasing stuff I've only ever had it once. Was cool to get but I'm assuming my next time will be 19 years from now.

Feeling blessed , didn't even think I was really on the board.

These things are determined in a pretty "of the moment" fashion.

Wammer of the Day is determined by how much action you generated the day before (heart clicks on threads you've started, heart-clicks on photos you've posted, and view counts on threads you started).

Even the site rankings you ask about here, Leila, which are based on the same factors listed above, but over the period of the past 30 days, seem to be heavily weighted to the action you've generated in the past week or so, but the other 75% of the past month doesn't seem to factor in nearly as much.

There also seems to be a correcting factor built in to prevent people who post a shit-ton of pics all at once from getting too much of a boost from that -- provided that only a few people are heart-clicking said pics. If you post a ton of pics and you get lots of heart-clicks on each pic, however (like picture posts from, say, Messygirl or Mrs. Bee always seem to), then you'll still get a big boost in your site rank, and you'll likely place for or outright win WOTD as well.

Why would you not think you were on the rank list? You're content is some of the absolute best this site has to offer!

Even if you're not around that much these days you're still top-tier in my book!

wammer of the day is not based on hearts on a thread you started anymore from what i understand bc so many of us start threads and put up screen caps for our vids just on the forum....it was becoming like CRAZY amounts of hearts or something.
i think wammer of the day, from what was told to me, is generated by what you put in your gallery. store gallery, profile gallery or whatever and that is how it is generated now.
as far as the site rank...i never pay attention to it. either way, im doing what i love and hopefully making a little money doing it! making ppls fantasies come to life is pretty fucking rad too! but i can see where it can be confusing like, you are selling a fuck ton of vids and your site rank is way below someone who hasnt posted in forever. that would be something questionable. me personally? like i said, as long as im able to get messy and make a few bucks to support me and mine and have some fun...im good!

I don't think Wammer of the day has ever been determined by forum hearts, I think Messmaster did it so non-producers get a chance to be Wammer of the day, to encourage people to take part.
Had the effect of some producers never winning, particularly male producers.
Like you said, we can put up storming images and get loads of likes in our forum posts, but they never count.
They also don't count towards image of the day, we often find we have lots of images in the forum with 15-20 hearts, yet image of the day has 3 or 4 hearts.

As a male producer you do end up feeling sometimes, where's the love folks?

i know when i first came on here it was based on hearts. just hearts anywhere so when we would put up a new video on the forums, we would get WOTD no doubt the next day. its like we could set a watch to it and we were like "oh shit, this is not good" bc we did NOT want to piss ppl off and we are pretty sure it was. for real. i mean, we had to release what we had and so, it was like, non stop wotd....
so, then we noticed that we didnt get it for like, over a year...which i did not care, i wanted that heat OFF MY BACK. I was not in the position, nor am i, in my first 6 1/2 years here to piss off producers (you dont bite the hand that feeds you) and in reality, all producers, new and old, feed me. we all feed eachother. one person buys 2 vids from your store and then goes and buys one from mine. friendly assists!! so, then, when it got to be like 2 years we didnt get it we were like "okay m.m. whats the deal with the wotd bc we havent gotten it in like 2 years and getting it JUST ONCE would help generate some sales for that day" so he explained to me how he had changed it bc of what was happening before. ppl that dont produce but still contribute on here were not getting their day, which is TOTALLY understandable. i love it. yesterday i was just moving pics around in my gallery and i got wammer of the day bc i guess they showed up as new? since i moved them around into "customs" and "wetlook" and all that. still working on it. so, that is cool!!
i think its better, otherwise, producers putting up vids and the hearts they get on their screencaps would take over wotd. and the ppl that come on here and post themselves help this place keep on going! i cant believe you have never gotten wotd, lisa....i say, we all go to their gallery and make them WAMMER OF THE DAY ONCE AND FOR ALL!! WHO IS WITH ME?!!

It's her birthday today, 37 years young.

Yep, Charlotte got it because she uploads pictures to her galleries, her forum posts don't do it.
She is killing it though, she's had the top store for like 5 weeks and top download most of that time.

In all fairness, we didn't post using the UMD's picture uploads until Messmaster changed to https, we used to back-link images from our websites, so in those days we didn't used to get hearts for pictures, it wasn't possible.

Nowadays, I don't really want to post updates for mostwam.tv, the site has daily updates, sometimes two a day, I would literally spam the forums with that and Charlotte's store.

Everyone knows about it anyways.
That being said, there's nothing like jogging people's memories daily for improving sales.

I wouldn't worry about it because as you say the sales figures are the most important thing and your new content is amazing with nearly 50 new films going into Charlotte's store in under 3 months plus of course people love to see a new character on the forums.
I think I've only put 7 new films in during that period but I'm finding putting my earliest films with my sister Davina back on (now we have them again-they were lost for about 6 years) is proving really popular and I was shocked to get Top Store
a couple of times in the last fortnight.
I think re.site ranking it's just a combination of people liking stuff you post and showing interest in other people's stuff and helping out if there is a question.
It's quite interesting actually how popular the male wam is too and often the guys outnumber the girls in the Site ranking.
I'm guessing I've been site rank no 1 for a week or so because of the boost of a custom I did with a guy getting gunged and tickled was well received.
Also I do actively look at threads now and love stuff that looks good from other producers including your site,Jayce's,Ariel's,Candy's etc and I think that probably forms part of the site ranks formula.
I suppose you,Lisa and Charlotte could take it in turns to post the content about your stores to get your own rankings higher though.
Tell Lisa it was my Mums birthday today too!

as far as putting up older content, i dont think there is a thing wrong with it and you should! there are so many new ppl on here every single day, that to them, its new content and should be brought into the light again!!

reverendsl has some of my oldies but goodies, actually some of my best scenes and he is releasing them and doing well! just bc some ppl either overlooked them at one time or new members are grabbing them up! i think you should post your stuff!!

I don't think he sells very many but his aim is just to fund his making his films not make a profit.

Mostwam with their Charlotte store and me and Jayce must have very similiar sales figures as Charlotte has been Top Store with me going Top a couple of times and I've gone Top Store again today with Jayce sometimes 2nd and then 3rd swapping with me.
Like I said before I've only had about 7 new films out in the time Mostwam have put out 48ish so some old films must do well on re-release.
My Davina ones are the really popular ones.
Also bundles only count as 1 sale and our 2 Davina bundles are doing amazingly well so at least they bring in more income and the customers get a good multi-buy deal.
Anyway Congratulations to us!

WOTD and Site Rank no 1 for Lisa!

Maybe I should post to clarify some of this stuff. It was never meant to be an enigma!

Every piece of content on UMD has an internal score. That's everything from forum posts to personal gallery pics to blog comments to inbox messages, whatever. The score is increased by heart clicks, hits/views, star-ratings, and if it's a download, sales. If you flag something, that actually contributes to the same score but in a very hefty negative way.

Everything also has a weighted score, which is its actual score, minus 1/30th of its score for every day it has existed. By one month it still has a score, but when weighted against the date it doesn't count anymore. But content a few days old still counts much more. It's this weighted score that we use around the site for all the "Hottest" sections like the main download store sliding banner.

Each day at midnight, UMD sums up all the (non date-weighted) ratings that each person got the previous day only, and that person becomes the following day's Wammer of the Day.

Each day at midnight, UMD also sums up the complete date-weighted scores of all content for each user and assigns an overall score for each person, and that's how site rank works. So the fresher and the more abundant your content you post around the site, the higher your rank will be, and you'll appear on our Most-loved list. Again, it's a rolling one-month thing with recent content progressively weighted more.

Each type of rating has its own weighting that I can adjust. I developed the whole system to encourage the posting of fresh content and to give props to people who posted quality stuff, but we seemed to hit a point of diminishing returns as forum pic dumps were being strategically used whenever a producer wished to get Wammer of the Day. So I dialed back the weighting for Loves on forum pic posts, and dialed it up for Loves on personal galleries. Always trying to strike a balance here! These are knobs that can (and should) be adjusted over time, so if you have an opinion on this, tell me.
