I'm just curious why most messy pictures posted in the forums appear in the Picture Archive but a smaller percentage of them do not. (I'm not talking about linked photos that aren't technically posted here; I mean photo files that are literally uploaded when the post is made).
If you want an example of this phenomenon in action, I posted a bunch of photos in this thread yesterday:
None of these pics appeared in the Picture Archive. (I know it can take 4-6 hours sometimes for the Picture Archive to be updated, but at this point it's been well over 24 hours, and many pics posted after mine are in the Archive now.)

Another possibly related phenomenon:
Sometimes when people post photos to a thread, a note appears on The Wall stating somethings like: Pies'n'Tentacles uploaded 18 photos on a forum thread, "Thanksgiving Tentacle Mess."
Other times when pics are uploaded to a thread, no announcement is created on The Wall. Just curious why that is ... does anyone know?
Hi. Gender tags in this particular case. I had a look for your pictures from that post in the archive. It appears they don't have any gender tags - so if you have a female filter on you won't see them. Switch filter to 'all' and there they all are! Gender tagging does not always default to our own settings it seems.

It wasn't your fault. As Trouso pointed out, the pics weren't showing up for you because your female-only filter was on, and the pics hadn't been labeled as female. But UMD should have automatically inferred their gender based on the originating post, and since this past week or so, our forums weren't doing that.
See what had happened was.... I've been updating the site so that pics inside of forum posts and replies, and pics inside of your photo galleries, can have their separate gender/synthetic/parental rating labels independent of their parents. But if you don't supply that, they should still infer from the parents, which they haven't been doing.
Bug squashed! I've already fixed your post, and I have a bunch to go through and make right. Sorry about that!
