Just looking for a little feedback. I have noticed that some of my scenes sell dramatically better than others and there seems to be little rhyme or reason as to what dictates a better selling clip other than potentially the more hardcore scene like if there's toys involved etc but outside of that I can't really figure out what makes a scene a best seller so now I'd like to leave it to the community.. what makes you more likely to get one of my scenes? DungeonMasterOne has mentioned that my scenes have way too little clothing which is something in all of my years of porn production I never thought I'd hear, but I've realozed I should probably do something to accommodate the folks who like clothing destruction and wetlook kind of stuff. What else do the rest of you want to see?
My biggest gripe with your scenes is lack of hair and facial coverage, and nearly all of your models look the same. Also, all cake is a little boring/not nearly messy enough, and too mainstream for me. Maybe try some green slime?
On the plus side, your production quality is top notch, and love the nudity and toys.

I think this might be the key. If you look at any of the most successful producers at the UMD, I'm pretty sure that almost none of them came this market as grizzled porn producers, but instead came as fans of WAM. I'm not saying that you yourself are actually "grizzled," but it sounds like you've been shooting other types of porn for quite awhile. And I think this inclines you in certain directions that limit the appeal of your videos with the bulk of the UMD crowd. (Admittedly, there are several very popular model/producers here who came to WAM opportunistically, but found that they liked it well enough to keep doing it for years, even though it's surely not one of the more lucrative niches in the adult video market.)
I know some people complain about the alternative look of your girls, and sure, that's going to put some people off, but I feel pretty certain that's not even close to your main sales issue, because there are plenty more who like the look of your girls, and very few other producers ever hire these type of models, let alone specialize in them like you do. I've heard plenty of people here say (mostly in private conversations, but sometimes in threads where you bring it up) that they find your models plenty sexy, they just don't particularly like your general approach to mess. That is... it's very much focused on tits, crotch, and ass, as anyone coming out of straight porn might expect people would want to see.
I think the majority of WAM fans DO like to see all those body areas getting messy (the PG-only crowd is a loudly vocal minority here, significant in size and spending power but still very much a minority). However, my feeling is that even most of us who enjoy the body WAM are more focused (or at least equally focused) on mess to the face and hair, and you do very little of that in your videos (relative to other WAM producers), at least based on the preview pics and sample videos you post.
If what I'm saying seems unlikely or just plain wrong, take a close look at the posts, photos, and sample videos from a selection of the forum's most popular producers, maybe even buy and watch some of their full-length videos. I think you'll see a fairly big difference in what they do and what you do, and not just in terms of the looks of the models. There's a lot of variety from one producer in terms of what types of substances they use and where they apply it, but a common thread for most of them is in a large percentage of the mess ends up in the face and hair.
There are so many niches and ultra-specific tastes within the WAM populace that there's absolutely no way you can shoot videos that will appeal to a majority of them, let alone everyone. But I really think that if you vary up your approach and shoot some videos where you have your hot alternative girls take lots of pies to the face and maybe a few buckets of slime over the head, you'll start to get sales from a bunch of people who have never bought from you before.
Gloopier mess. Aside from the once-a-scene condensed milk facial, you chiefly work with cake, and not even the squishy kind you'd find in the chilled aisle but the kind that's just dry sponge with icing on. And then put sprinkles on top, turning it into something akin to sandpaper. *shudders*
I love the alt models, though. Which makes me the exact opposite of messymusic. Don't let our posts touch or they'll annihilate in a flurry of gamma photons.
Love your models and the colorful mess, but as has sort of been discussed WAM is it's own thing and it's not porn per se, not to all of us anyway. That said, a few smears of frosting on a girl's cheek is more deviantartsy than messy to me. Understanding we all have a different perspective, a very simple and straight up formula of pies in the face and cake batter poured on a girl's head is what brings a lot of us here. Thanks for asking though. I really do love the look of your productions and have been hoping one of them would line up with my tastes one day.
This is a hard question Clix. Admittedly, I'm not one of your customers (even though I loved meeting you and thought you were one of the coolest people at the anniversary). However, I can say that of a lot of producers. Within the WAM/Sploshing community there is lot of niches and diversity.
For instance there is a LOT of people who are like "pies, pies, and MOAR pies". But pies don't do a damn thing for me.
A lot of people have different opinions on the alt modelling too. I tend to not find myself as physically attracted to alt models as much, but I found Audra, and Orian to be some of the most adorable ladies there! Everyone is different that way.
For your medium, I LOVE what you do with colors and that cake is your thing! It is so very unique and it is like a signature of yours. Even if you had a model who has worked for several producers before do a scene for you, I could very easily pick out that you did it based on this.
I'm a strong believer in sticking to doing what you want to do and what makes you happy. WAM is a very sensual and sexual thing for me, but I also can see it as art. This is your art, and while I know you need to make a profit to eat, you shouldn't compromise who you are or what you love.
To put this into straight economic terms though. The more you diversify the wider audience (customer base) you will find, but the trade off is that you devote less time into your specialty. On the other side, if you stick to what you know and do best, you may have a more narrow audience (customer base) but you will be something of a specialist. In this respect I feel your customers will find you! It's just a matter of promoting and being seen. Luckily this doesn't seem to be a problem for you Mr. Award winner!
So tl;dr if you want to look at this from a strictly financial point of view, try sticking your toe in to some other types of product and see if 1. it's profitable, and 2. you enjoy it. But don't do this at the expense of what you are already doing now.

Clix, here is something you can look into adding to some of your shoots! Cake batter isn't really a deviation from your medium either since it's still cake! If you use one or two colors that don't turn into...just brown, you could have some sloppier wet coverage. Mix this with your usual cakes and sprinkles and BAM!
I love your "alt-look" modele, but cake isn't really my thing. If you dump a few buckets of green methylcellulose on them, I'd be all up on it. I'd probably even do that as a custom.

Welcome to making fetish videos.
If you ask people, you'll end up with 1.2 models standing on one leg wearing a high heel on one foot, a sneaker on the other while being slimed with vanilla gravy beans and being pied in the ass face boobs while singing yankee doodle in white pants and a satin pink and blue t-shirt blouse jacket.
Do what you do. Do what you like, and do it as well as you can.

You forgot slouch socks, wristwatches, butt crushing, and interpretive dance.

I actually have my first slime video ready to post.. I have one more scene in the pipes that is already scheduled for release tomorrow... and then my slime scene with UltraHappy (Audra)
DeanAbraham said: The alt-models gimmick is sorta your thing, and abandoning it for better sales seems like you'd be selling out, laying down, sucking up to the man, but I definitely agree with everyone else about the hair and face coverage. It seems like sometimes you bring in these really awesome looking girls and they exit the scene they're relatively clean compared to a lot of other stuff on this site
Alt-models are more than a gimmick for me.. It's a lifestyle. All of the girls I work with are girls I am friends with and hang out with IRL. It's like a family of sorts. I'm used to being the weird guy and sometimes discounted because of it... so I'd never sell out and abandon my friends/models!! That being said I have seen that there is more need for more face/hair coverage and I'll DEFINITELY be taking that into account. Sometimes its a little rough cuz the girls spend so much time/money on their hair and sometimes some of the stuff stains, but we'll figure it out.

You're not wrong. I've been at this a long time and not only can you not please all of the people all of the time, it seems that you're lucky to please one person half of the time lol. But I keep doin the thing and people predominantly seem to enjoy it. I was just trying to get a feel for why some of my scenes go bonkers and others dont lol.

Now I think we're on to something!!!! Sometimes I can't see the forest for the trees. IT'S ON!!!

Also, pimp your events! 2018 seems to be the year for UMD events. I know you do like semi-annual messy music events! Arizona is a bit far, but if you ever decide on a Philly one, I'd definitely be down, and I'm pretty sure some others would be. Music venues tend to be Messmaster's thing too.

Well, Audra is super hot, so that works out well for me. If you decide you want to do some slime customs, hit me up and I'll be happy to finance you sliming more of your girls.
Your models are part of the reason I get your vids. Though I will say other than the typical needs more hardcore/girlongirl complaint. Covnerage on your videos can be a bit light but that's due to your choice on the cake. Using things like mud, paint, or metyhlcellulose might help.
I have four of your vids. I love the colors and the mess. It would be nice to see more pies or slime. I got videos with 2 or more models and I love the toy play. My favorite is with Proxy Paige, Harley Green and the third model (I do not recall her name off the top my head). I loved seeing Proxy get nasty and fisted! I agree that many of the models look a lot a like. I was never a huge fan of heavy tats and piercings ( Proxy Paige being the exception - she has such a fun personality I can easily get past the alt look). Inalso love seeing the models with the classic 80s Playboy bush. Not a fan of hairy legos or armpits though. So What I look for tends to be multi girls getting messy, toy use, lesbian play, masturbation, good long looks at booty and twerking. Personality is also very important. Proxy looks like she genuinely having fun. I think it would be fun to see more tit for tat pie fights but with crazy colors you use.
Your videos are great but I would also like to see more mess and slime! I like the barefoot shots you put into some videos so more of that would be great as well!
