I was hoping Vanessa Bayer got messy too (she's done it before) but still, this looks to be one of the better mainstream cakings in recent American TV history.

Age be damned, as well as her politics. Debra Messing was, and still is, a Fox. I've crushed on her since the Ned & Stacy days. That was a hilarious show that was canceled way too soon. Hilarious more because of Thomas Hayden Church, not so much Debra. But she is super-duper eye-candy, always has been.
She got sprayed with foam LIVE, in fact. (And twice, since they did it again for the West Coast.)
Vanessa Bayer got an entire bowl of pudding dumped on her head at SNL, again live. That's why I thought she might get messy as well.
Regis, Debra isn't my first pick for cake target, but she's not bad looking at all. (Plastic surgery probably helps.) FYI the woman from Neighbours who got caked was "mature" as well.
I mean, this ain't the 1940s.... or that brief period when pies and variety shows were "hip" in the late 1970s.... Attractive mainstream actresses aren't exactly lining up to get messy. Your choices basically boil down the occasional moment when an adult female at Nickelodeon draws the short straw.... or something like this.

That was a crappy cake. It looked like she went into it with some force, but just got zilch in return. Boo-urns.
To be fair it looks less contrived than a lot of other cake face-plants I've seen recently. And yet again, so many people on here expecting mainstream tv to deliver fetish-quality content. It's almost as if they haven't come on to this forum to do their research properly, the tits! :ohbruther:

Funny, and for us: also sad, but the pictures made it look out like it was going to be so much better.
Sometimes they rehearse this stuff, the pic I have is from a Japanese show where they did just that (the gag was an exploding cake in a gorgeous girl's face). She uploaded a picture from the rehearsal... the episode itself aired, and it was a good gag and good hit, but for us I would have liked to have seen this as well, looks spot on perfect.
With this one, these pictures aren't from a rehearsal. They just looked better for whatever odd reason.

Yup...I did not have high hopes for this scenes based upon the teaser of the show I saw....wherein DM enters the apartment still "wearing" the cake....my thought at the time was that this was going to be an "applied" cake/messing (to Ms. Messing) that is done "off-stage"....
...so it was surprising to see that the cake scene actually occurs "live" (i.e., we see it)...the facial mess looks better (in the entering-the-apartment scene) than the actual scene, so, either they re-applied the cake or the still shot comes from a rehearsal (they may have made the crucial mistake of not leaving the cake out under the lights long enough to make the frosting "creamy" and more sticky [for the actual recorded scene] -- a process that can take a couple of hours or more, depending)....

Yeah, I get that. But would it be so difficult to say that a particular actress or model or human being doesn't do anything for you without referring to her as a million years old?
