has anyone noticed in the uk that UMD is very slow ? i have a very fast connection but the site takes forever to load pages and its pretty much impossible to play any video for more than a couple of seconds before it spends 10 seconds buffering
can any fellow brits confirm if its the same for them to ?
Site taking ages to load today (Sunday 28/6/2026 at 11:15). Took around 40 secs just to get this page! I'm sure its putting a lot of users off - or maybe they think the site is down... Just for comparison, other websites with lots of graphical content (eg The Guradian, ebay) are loading for me in seconds.
Sadly yes, and it's been this way all year. What's more frustrating is that the content being uploaded is growing larger and larger in size, such high quality / resolution / bitrate that I can only explore stuff when the site has a really good day. I'd really encourage some limits be introduced on uploaded photos and streamable videos if it's not possible to improve loading times, scenes can remain full HD given they're downloaded anyway.
I echo all of the others. I get on and off as soon as I can when it's like this (seems like every day lately), no time for relaxed exploring into the site.
True here in the USA as well. I had to abandon updating my UMD store because the response times were taking ages and it was like swimming in treacle.
Our Eurowam and Wamtec sites in Europe were also affected by DDOS attack via AI a couple of days ago and also became unresponsive and it took our tech support team 12 hours to bring things back to normal, so I guess UMD has also been impacted by AI coordinated DDOS attackers as well...
...so we need to be patient and wait until the tech team cleans things up.
I messaged MessMaster about this months ago and nothing seems to have changed. I understand it's something to do with where the site sits and is hosted from. At the time it was just affecting the UK but now this seems to be much wider.
I'm grateful for a free-to-access messy site but it is making using the thing rather challenging at present.

I didn't see this post but i posted another thread on the "messy forum" just so it would get noticed more. This site is barely usable at the moment. I used to go through all the threads every day but now i pick and choose which ones i open as it takes about a minute to open each thread
