Just after a quick bit of advice since been getting some crossdressing content which I know is not the best and options for it are not vast but the opinions from it are rare.
Am I doing something wrong with my sessions posts that no-one seems to be fussed in as to be able to showcase is great as I'm aware I'm doing photos for now as videos I'm a little wary of but sure I can do in a way.
Just want to ensure everyone is involved really as if I'm doing a session or planning one and people have ideas for what to wear or get wet/messy with, gives food for thought too. As for now I'll probably give my main outfit I'm wearing ample usage for sessions before opt for something else.
I know that there are a few Trans Wammers I've enjoyed seeing some of their content and have had some chats too, so be intrigued to know what I could do better or for anyone into Trans WAM what would you like too?
If you're posting for your own enjoyment- then do whatever takes your fancy.
If you're looking to publish/sell content, consider zooming out a little in your photos to show off your outfits and full body. You'll want detail shots of the mess as well as full shots for context. (and be a little creative if you wish to keep your face hidden)
As for what to wear- mix it up, try some lingerie or a swimsuit, or grab a wedding dress/prom dress off eBay (you can get some very nice bargains), or go for some cosplay outfit. Throw in something brightly colored (gunge and clothing).
Also feel free to take a look through some of the 'professional' studios post their content- take a note or writing styles, titles, thumbnails ect as well as looking at set design/camera placement.

It's mainly own enjoyment and just for showcasing. I know if I ever do content to sell then got to think a little bit differently. Outfit wise though you'd won't see in lingerie or that, I only do fully clothed and usually formal/smart etc, a dress or skirt I may wear but even that I try be conscious mainly with my body. But thanks for this though
I think I know exactly what you are looking for and I don't think you will find it here.
I used to dress and wam and post pictures on my profile but very rarely got any public comments of support or appreciation, which is what I was really looking for. For me it was about appreciating the way I looked before and after the mess and publicly I didn't get this, it was like a seal of approval. What I did get was a small number of really nice messages sent privately to my inbox.
Part of my being here was my dressing and being accepted, it was part of the fantasy. When the fantasy wasn't fulfilled the urge to get messy and dress started to go away, to the point where now I haven't done anything since 2017.
I think generally dressing and mess isn't really liked on here or not publicly anyway, thats not a criticism, its just not for some. There is some stuff I'm not a fan of and I just don't comment on or like it. I think in response to the people that say do it for you, thats absolutely right but that becomes harder when its the public appreciation you are looking for.
I get what you mean, like when I did the session last week just with getting my heels messy, that was the focus but the pleasure felt amazing. Despite only a little mess on my trousers the urge to get the full outfit wet and messy was there as was tempted to film than take pictures but I held myself back as the point of the session was just the shoes not the full outfit. I'll keep posting stuff up & see if people wish to get involved but not the end of the world. It's felt great just getting dressed up and doing WAM again.
As others have said, if it's for your own enjoyment they hey, go for it but if you are asking why others are not interested then the reality is no one else is.
Trannies/cross dressers neither fit the mould of gay interest and certainly not straight guys. As for real women, they don't exist in this universe or at least too few to mention so you are on to nothing.
As a cross dresser myself, I think we all seek a bit of acceptance but if we are honest with ourselves no matter how hard we try , we will never be truly convincing and in many cases the tranny is deluding themselves that they actually look good. In reality most trannies look plain daft and have no clue. Surely you must see some trannies and think to yourself 'WTF is that??' and feign puking, well there is a good chance someone is thinking that of us... Sadly the life of majority of cross dressers is a lonely existence of denial.
Similar to others, I gave up getting messy a while ago now, and rather embrace going femme and learning all I can about make up. I would rather be that made up semi convincing woman who delights in messing others rather than being the messed up tranny no one wants.

Certainly an interesting way to look at it but fully understand what you mean. I think that's why in my personal life I've had those just not accept that I like to cross dress and do a bit of WAM. Now that I'm doing it again & this time showcasing here, my feelings initially are mixed as I'm enjoying it but suppose I think when want a little feedback or that can be a challenge too I suppose. But you certainly seem happy in your current position.
You've probably noticed the "trans" section of this forum is pretty quiet. I post my own content here, but it's more cross dressing than trans, so it doesn't really fit in any of the available categories, or be of any interest to any of those audiences.
The vast majority of forum posts here receive no response, with most interaction coming through followers or searchers on the forum. It's quite hard to find the stuff you're looking for without the lead of forum posts, but it can be done.
In terms of what to do or not do, I tried to produce the content I wanted to see, as a result it is only me who views it. I kind of stopped uploading it here as it's a pain to produce stuff to a standard I'd be willing to share, compared to stuff for my own enjoyment. So I suppose the advice like most others is to do it for yourself, and if you want to share it, don't expect any response. This isn't necessarily anything you're doing right or wrong, it just isn't something people here are interested in.
UMD has a groups section. This is a really niche thing and mainly the niche is going to be other cross dressing WAMers so start a CD WAM group or go to fetlife there's a fair number of CD WAMers on there as CD often crosses into sissy and from there to ABDL. There's lots of sissys and ABDLs probably way more of them than there are WAMers. I've got to ask, What on earth have trans women got to do with cross dressing? Trans women are women there's no reason for their posts to be any different from those whose gender and assigned gender were the same at birth. As for the females on here who are attracted to men yes we exist but we don't perv pictures that much. Women can close their eyes and indulge in fantasy. Our imaginations are way better than a camera so a picture or video just isn't as important to us because looking at them means keeping our eyes open. To sum up yes your audience is definitely other CD WAMers so go find your audience on fetlife or create a place for that audience here on UMD.
I come on here mainly looking to see pics of pretty girls and boys dressed as girls getting sexy outfits and shoes messy. And as such that is the kind of stuff i post to my profile. Also with a hope to meet someone who is looking for similar. Ive discovered a lot over the years that this is not for everyones taste and can be quite niche i suppose. The main poknt being is that you will drive yourself mad trying to please everyone. So just do what makes you feel good as long as its not doing anyone else any harm. As a side note ive just posted a new album of pics (messy9) to my profile of me doing exactly what i want to do and aint no body gonna stop me doing that xxx
What I look for in Trans/CD wam, is basically the same thing I look for otherwise. A curvy model/actress, and nice big sloppy pies! I can't find it now but I bought a lovely clip from Vanessa Veridian a while back.

Really enjoyed going over your content, you may enjoy some of mine who knows but it's little things like this just talking to fellow CD Wammers and finding out what they like.
For me cross dressing is all about what I want to get out of it not anybody else. I love to dress up and then get trashed and post pics on here, some people like them some don't but it doesn't bother me. It did use to bother me as I was very self conscious and didn't want my "other" life coming out in the real world but then I thought if somebody can actually see the real me under the make up, mess and clothes well they have a better eye than I do. I have been asked to dress in swimsuits. leotards etc by people over the years but dressing like does nothing for me so I never bothered. End of the day just do what your are comfortable and happy doing for you and no one else. Keep dressing and wamming
1. If you're going to make content, make the content you want - don't go seeking validation or markets.
WAM is a niche fetish. The number of people into CD or trans content is also small. The number of people interested in both is even smaller. And within that small number the number willing to pay to view any content is incredibly small. Before you then take into account any of the fussy tastes people might have there is far too small a market to sustain a typical clip store or website.
I reckon if the trans wam community wished to try make more content that a non-traditional community led crowd funding style initiative could work as whilst people might be reluctant to foot the bill for a full custom with a particular model they might be willing to pre-buy a scene along with other backers for a little input into the planned scene to help fund more trans WAM content. Though based on the response when I last posted this (Across a few posts in this thread https://umd.net/forums/trans-wam) there doesn't seem to be much interest amongst CD wammers here to pursue such an idea.
As a general rule I would always advice against chasing the likes for validation on the internet in any form - whether on a fetish site or just for posting opinions on social media. Such behaviour tends to exacerbate whatever personal issues people have that make them feel a need to seek validation from others AND also it is a mistake to believe that something being popular is right. In truth following the majority tends to lead to mediocrity... (Check out the TED talk by Paul Rulkens on "Why the majority is always wrong" for more on that.)
2. Advice on content
Assuming you're not posting for validation but to share some of what you enjoy either for others to enjoy or encourage others then the number one thing I can think of is reactions. So often people in their feedback about what WAM scenes they enjoy talk about the reactions of the person getting messy. A lot of CD WAM is either someone taking pictures without their face in the picture or they're wearing a mask instead. Both of which prevents any reactions being seen by the viewer.
I understand that a lot of people wish to try hide their identity but with makeup CDs can actually hide their identity more than anyone else on this site. I'm not saying that with enough practice at makeup anyone can pass - I mean I certainly don't in my Elise Wood alter ego - but that with makeup I look so different from what I usually do when I'm sporting my man-beast like beard that everyone I knew that I showed an image of myself as Elise (in a normal non-erotic picture I'll add) did not realise it was me until I told them. Whilst many could tell it was a crossdresser, they didn't realise it was me. With some makeup whilst maybe not passing, you can disguise yourself enough that people who might know you won't recognise you if they happen to flick through. (Though granted today's facial recognition software might be a different matter).
But if you can get to a point where you're happy for your face to be in the shot both clean and getting messy to capture the reaction (and based of this poll seeing the clean person getting messy is very much preferred: https://umd.net/forums/most-important-wam-aspect-getting-messy) then I would expect an increase in results.
Naturally the makeup style you wish to go with will depend very much on your preferences, I would say though that it might affect the audience you attract. Trying to go for more natural or passable looks (in terms of both clothing and makeup) attracts a more CD heavy audience whereas hyper-feminised or hyper-sexualised looks attract a certain crowd of heterosexual guys that are so aroused by that look that they'll overlook you being a CD just for that look.
3. Regarding the trans tag.
A few people have posted about the trans tag as if it should apply solely to transsexual individuals. Trans as a diminutive of transgender has traditionally been used as an umbrella term to cover transsexual, non-binary, genderqueer, third gender, crossdressers, transvestites and various other gender identities. Given how little content being posted in the trans section as it is I don't see how it will help dividing up further. Especially as I would expect that most transwomen would wish to post under the female tag and most transmen would wish to post under the male tag and be accepted for their current gender rather than have to out themselves. As such I would expect this current trans tag would remain dominated by crossdressers, non-binary and other gender bending posters.
Personally I believe that using the broadest possible umbrella term for this tag is the option that promotes the most tolerance and inclusiveness as each are welcome to post and people accept everyone else's differences whilst using more narrow umbrella terms might feel exclusive to some and breaking it down into sub-categories will inevitably give rise to "you should be posting in the other category" style gatekeeping that breeds division and intolerance. Furthermore having a separate category for a particular transgender-sub group that then has next to no posts in it will hardly be encouraging to anyone thinking about posting in it, instead concluding that there isn't anyone else to talk to or that they're being shunted out to a corner to be ignored.
I had to somewhat bite my tongue when reading a lot of this thread, not least because I found some of the content said to be highly offensive.
I believe it's important to distinguish the difference between someone who cross-dresses, and someone who is transgender. Unfortunately a lot of the adult industry doesn't make such distinctions, but that's not to say that it should be accepted as right or as the "norm".
Someone who is transgender is someone who's gender does not align with what they were assigned at birth, so called gender incongruence.
Words like "tranny" and "transsexual" are highly offensive, and whilst I appreciate that the terms are still used by some people who are transgender, or by some people who are cross-dressers, they are no longer considered acceptable by the vast majority of people.
theStickyTrickster has made some good points about how you divide up somewhere like UMD, and in an ideal world someone who is transgender can post content under the gender tag that fits them, unfortunately even on a site which is generally friendly, it isn't uncommon to find such content moved to the "trans" tag which is used to group both transgender people and cross-dressers together.
Whilst there is absolutely nothing wrong with cross-dressing, it can be distressful to find yourself associated as being your assigned gender and it simply being a case of wanting to dress up. This in itself is wrong, and the result of stigmatisation of cross-dressing, which complicates the situation further.
Further, comments within this thread are likely to cause significant distress to someone who is transgender, particularly to trans women who are thought to be "tranny[s] deluding themselves that they actually look good".
Did that turn into a bit of a rant? Probably, but hopefully it highlights the situation from the other perspective (ie from a trans woman and not a cross dresser).

Going through your points, for me I'll keep some mystique about me. As just how I've always been, for me the focus is on what is being worn in a session and the mess applied. Like I'm a straight guy who when comes to WAM feels happy in women's clothing, compared to male clothing. Even though if I did male clothed WAM I'd do it in smart attire like I do as a woman.
For me too I'd just like to get to know UMD members too regardless of gender or sexuality, we are a community & should be seen as friendly I'd hope to as many members as possible.
I dress because I like the feeling of wearing ladies clothes, and the appearance it gives me. The messy part just adds to the fun of being dressed, again it all comes down to how it looks and feels with my clothes clinging to me. The videos and photos are just a reminder for me of what I did. I post them on here because some people find them erotic, it may only be a minority, but if it makes them happy, and turns them on, all the better. I find it erotic seeing a guy dressed in sexy ladies wear showing their stocking covered legs and knickers being covered in something messy. Do it for your own pleasure first and foremost, and if others find it erotic, even better.
