Hey guys! This past Tuesday 02/16, The Wife and I celebrated our 4 year wedding anniversary. So, for our latest download, we wanted to take you back to the very night we were married. Yes, there was slime!
I remember...it days from our ceremony, and I started joking about sliming her on our wedding night, and she almost immediately said "Well yeah!"
So here it is: the footage of us, in our hotel room, on our wedding night, getting The Wife messy.
From our personal vault of videos, we present to you the best day of The Man's life: when he married The Wife. And even on this most blessed day, there just had to be slime. They brought all the slime ingredients and buckets they could into the hotel room on their wedding night after they were happily married. With big smiles on her face, the newly wed Wife takes three buckets of gooey batter slime, being sure to rub each and every one into her long hair. Three colors were used; blue (The Man's favorite color), yellow (The Wife's favorite color), and green (The Man and The Wife's favorite colors combined). She is also nailed with a few pies to the face for good measure, as well as taking a nice recycled slime at the end. Oh, and as for the socks; The Wife knows how much The Man loves seeing her in white socks, so she surprised him by wearing them for the mess. What a woman!

Oh this is no concept. This was legit shot just for us four years ago in our hotel room after we got married that same day! You can tell it's older by her lack of more tattoos, lol.
Okay, so when I initially saw your first video post eons ago my first thought was that referencing her as "The Wife" was for anonymity. Then my theory changed to that she is your wife, hence "The Wife". And as your amazing videos kept on coming my latest theory that I've been developing has finally been solidified with the evidence found in this post, and please correct me if I'm wrong, but I think I finally understand:
The label "The Wife" fits because she is a living embodiment of what anyone could ever want in a lifelong partner. Someone who not only loves you, not only loves every part of you, but embraces it all and makes it hers too in every way. She is the diamond in the slime as you would say and we're all just happy that you two make the effort to share your adventures with all of us. Thank you and happy anniversary to you both!

It's honestly both of what you said; she wanted the title for a bit of anonymity, but it's SO much more with what you said in your second paragraph:
"The label "The Wife" fits because she is a living embodiment of what anyone could ever want in a lifelong partner. Someone who not only loves you, not only loves every part of you, but embraces it all and makes it hers too in every way. What you said there was beautiful and absolutely true. She loves me. She loves what makes me..ME. And she embraces it, and makes it hers too. I'm a lucky fuck and I'll never forget that as long as I live.
Thank you for sharing a little piece of your special day with us. So cool that you even considered doing this, and had the energy to accomplish it, I hear weddings are exhausting lol. We're getting married in September maybe I can add something similar lol

We had a VERY small and fast ceremony honestly. And we did it at the high school we spent grades 6-12 together. We then went out to eat with friends and family, with the hotel we were staying at right across the parking lot. Mess ingredients and buckets in our trunk the whole day!

Were you guys high school sweethearts then? Or did you get together later?
We were really good friends in school, but never a couple. However, we did have a few make out sessions, but no one ever took it to the next level and made a move. And usually one of us would have a boyfriend/girlfriend too, so that didn't ever help trying to be a unit. So it was definitely after school we finally made it happen.

Well, the main thing is you got together in the end - and we're all thrilled you did!

Speaking as someone who spent years working in and around the Wedding Industry, I really wish more couples would do exactly what you guys did here and just enjoy their wedding as opposed to following "tradition" and envoking all the pomp, circumstance, and expense they already can't afford to then entangle it with the stress and pressure of trying to manufacture a "perfect" moment.
You guys did it right and had fun in the process. A Wonderful Celebration you both got to actually enjoy and experience. Kudos on 4 Years and here's to many more!

Wow, very nice! Interesting back story to this one! Totally worth trashing that wedding dress!

Thank you so much. And very interesting about your (former?) profession! What exactly did you do?

Long story, somewhat long. I was the son of a Professional Photographer and Event Producer and Florist. I spent my weekends growing up working for his various companies, both on location and behind the scenes at events, parties, receptions, corporate functions, graduations, recitals, reunions, weddings & other various celebrations.
Now, while it might initially sound fun to kick back at a free buffet or open bar (I looked older than I was) every weekend, Work is still Work, and after a while, the novelty wears thin.
What I learned working weddings, was that too many couples worry about creating the perfect moment and rarely take the time to focus on the actual moments they're experiencing or commemorating in deference to some vain effort to try an preserve said moments for posterity.
Most of the Brides and Grooms rarely got to eat or drink the food they picked out, because they were too busy greeting the hundreds of guests they invited, and even then no actual conversation, just brief greetings and thanks. Too busy taking the required cake tradition photo or doing the first dance Video. Traditions are great, but so many couples treat them like a checklist as opposed to anything worth remembering.
I hope I don't come off as salty, or dour because I love the celebration of life and love more than anyone, but it was at times hard to maintain ones "love" for the trappings of celebrations ill considered when couples would get divorced/separated before the photos were even back from the lab.
So again, just wanted to congratulate you both on doing things your way (ie The Right Way) from the start and keeping the love going long after the party was over.
Thank you for your story. And for the record, we love hearing these random stories. I agree that if you can afford a wedding AND things for the future, then go ahead! But otherwise, MAN that expensive wedding could be a down payment on a new home and or furniture. I must confess I did get her what I would consider a nice ring, since at least that will be around long after the wedding. Plus it's a constant reminder of me on her finger.
