Some are more convincing than others. The train on the viaduct looks very fake with mismatched carriages and an obvious loop on the steam. Some of the humans are uncanny valley due to the focus and reflections. The animals are the most convincing. Don't even want to start on the potential huge ethical and legal issues this opens up.

Thay've clearly realsed the horrendous possible issues it could open up and are involved in very serious full-hammer testing. I think it will be a while yet before it's released to the public, and will almost certainly be a paid-for only service even then, and possibly quite an expensive one.

Agreed, but this is still the very early days. Give it a couple more years, and I think it'll be impossible to tell some AI generated content from actual live filming.

Indeed.
Back in the very early days of cinema the studios didn't want the names of the actors in their films to be known, as they felt if the actors became famous they'd demand to be paid more. However the public demanded to know who the stars were, and it soon became aparent that even if they had to be lavishly paid, the star-power of having a popular actor in a studio's movies more than outweighed the costs of paying them, by encouraging much larger audiences.
I do wonder if we'll soon be moving into a "post acting" world though, where in at least some types of films, particularly action movies and sci-fi where lots of CGI is already used to make the impossible possible on screen, human actors will actually be dispensed with in favour of AI characters, who will be so convincing and realistic that audiences genuinely won't be able to tell the difference. At which point it will be less about what's possible, and more about what people will accept.
