So I'm pretty irritated by a user who has one of my photo's as his display pic - do you guys have any experience of others using your photos without permission?

Besides watermarking, are there any ways of detering people from using your images?
I suppose there's not much to be done...

It's just one of a few recent encounters with people causing trouble, sending me abuse and such, it's making me think twice about doing this anymore as there's only so much you can take on the chin... afterall, male wam doesn't really sell that well and I usually just about break even...

I've dealt with this for years. Always watermark your photos. It wont stop people from stealing them but if they are too lazy to crop the watermark out you at least get credit for your work. Other than that there isn't much you can do about people stealing your work. For years some middle aged guy has been pretending to be me on fetlife (he uses a different name but stole tons of my photos & videos) but even when I complained to fetlife they told me it didn't violate any of their policies so they didn't care.

And when it comes to abusive emails, insults, etc. that is sadly the nature of putting yourself on public display. Models shouldn't have to deal with harassment but some people are just assholes who can only feel good about themselves by insulting others. I don't mean to be discouraging, people can also be wonderfully positive and supportive. Like most things in life doing this kind of work has it's ups and downs and you just have to decided if it's worth it for you to deal with the negative aspects.

Thanks for replying Leila, in the same way that you reported your situation I've done the same and asked MM to address the person in question about using my material as his own, though nothing has been done yet. It'd be nice to report the guy as it made me quite angry to be honest but there's no report function... I guess I'll just have to watermark the images that I put up in future, I've deleted them for the time being though.

I might have a break from making WAM vids for a bit, I'll see how it goes.

Actually this has been resolved. You reported it on Thursday and I removed your pic from the guy's profile pic yesterday and messaged him. Only actual content around UMD can be reported on, not a user himself. For things like that you can always use the Contact Us page and let us know what's wrong (as you've done). I do plan in the future to have more direct / obvious ways to report on things like profile pics, the user him/herself, etc.

I've had this issue with someone before. I messaged the guy saying that he really shouldn't be using anyone's material without their express permission first anyway. When that didn't work I reported the photos were used without my permission to Messmaster. Though, I still see him post photos of different women everyday I always keep an eye on his page to make sure they aren't mine.
