You probably noticed the little numbers next to some of the Love hearts, telling you how many people loved that item. Now you can click the number and you'll see a list of who all the people are. Just thought you should know!
Also, remember that you can see a list of your own past Loves by clicking "Loving and Following" on your profile.
Given what the near future holds for us, I think it's a good idea to show as much love as possible.
It's neat, but on a fetish site won't folks want some of their "loves" to be known only to the poster? Not to mention posts with political content or personal conflicts. At any rate, this seems like something that should be spelled out in the privacy statement.

I'll def. consider that, plus maybe an option to keep them anonymous. Loves were never private (the person gets notified), so I guess that wasn't a priority. By the way, if your account is set to Anonymous, it won't reveal your username to anyone who isn't logged in.

Depends on the wittiness of the rejoinder. If it was just "Your Mama!", then while that is a classic, it won't elicit an overwhelming response.

so i have a question i was looking at some old forum post pics i put on. when i clicked on the number of loves, it said there were no loves, and then when i refreshed the page the loves on the pic disappeared. is this a glitch or is it because they are old posts and the people who clicked on them are off the site?
Given what the near future holds for us, I think it's a good idea to show as much love as possible.
Peace, MM
After 18.5 years of thoroughly enjoying UMD, this comment has me really depressed Could you elaborate a bit on what you are referring too??
Messmaster is CLEARLY referring to Lenny Sorge closing up all his pie vid stores.
The Golden Era of WAM will soon be behind us. In all those years, I never did make the money I needed to purchase all his Doodmon videos, like I had hoped & planned.
Just noticed a side benefit to this new feature: When someone loves a post in thread that you've made multiple posts in, you can now track down which post it is. Before there was no way to do that because the notifications only refer back to a thread rather than individual posts in it.
GEEK STUFF>>> Programmatically, that should(?) be do-able by taking the id of the anchor tag thoughtfully provided in the code of each post, and putting it in the referring link of the notification (for example, here is such a link to my original post in this thread https://umd.net/forums/see-who-loved-stuff#571912 -- of course threads with multiple pages might be tricky). But I held off on bugging you about that, MM, (and other projects that would follow from that concept) because I knew you were busy. Anyway, it seems to be a moot point now

Yeah what's happening is that Loves do fall off a cliff and get erased after a time, but the hearts don't always refresh on time. I'll work on that. Meanwhile I've doubled the amount of time that Loves stick around, but already 6 months' worth is about 1 million loves. We're bursting!

I've added an Anonymous Loves preference. Check it out!

You're right--the anchor with post ID would take 2 seconds, but a post doesn't "know" what page it's on. That's why the dummy-link back to the OT. Maybe I'll get to that some day
Good to know my gf said for every ten love she gets from her pics I owe her dinner so I'll have to let her know the count is prob off. But she likes that she gets loves so hopefully she lets me keep posting!

Ah yes, of course.
While I certainly appreciate MM's concerns as much as anybody, I question the wisdom of UMD expressing even vailed political views, especially at the management level. Why would we want to risk alienating ANY of the wonderful people who have gathered together here, from all walks of life, to share in this delightfully exciting and totally harmless fetish? There are so many other avenues available for expressing political opinions -- I wouldn't think UMD needs to be one of them.

Thanks, MM! Just tested it and it works like a charm -- retroactively even! Personally, I'm not too concerned about showing my "love". Just making sure that ladies could heart-click male wam (hey, it happens!) without fear of opening themselves up to forum-wide harassment.
